  1. My offseason prediction is that thisthread will be locked soon.
  2. Nds cornerback broke his leg. Not sure if that news is out there yet
  3. Because every other nba team has to face top teams on the second end of a b2b. Edit: ah sorry you mean don't do it to any for any team ever? I imagine it creates massive scheduling conflicts. They have to fill four weekdays of games on espn and tnt and more on other nights.
  4. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Nov 7, 2014 -> 11:27 AM) Isn't it more appropriate for home town fans to see their home town stars? I think Balta has the perfect response to this still. If they want those premier matchups, then they shouldn't have the premier matchup be the 2nd of a back to back. Honestly it's a terrible idea. You'll have 29 other franchises throwing a s*** fit about special scheduling treatment and that's the last thing the NBA would want is to set a precedent here.
  5. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 7, 2014 -> 10:12 AM) That is a great strategy for trying to get the NBA to give you a lighter schedule than anyone else. Exactly. The NBA is a lot bigger than the Spurs. There should be no special treatment of them regarding scheduling. It's an entertainment business. The Spurs screwed the NBA out of one of the premier early season match ups that was also on the road on national TV. If Pops was so concerned, he should have sat them at home against the Hawks the night before.
  6. This was about pissing the powers at be off, not about winning a championship. He could have easily rested them in a throwaway game against the Hawks at home, but chose not to. The nba is an entertainment business.
  7. QUOTE (Brian @ Nov 7, 2014 -> 07:19 AM) I understand this and you can't argue against Pop's record, but it feels like he is starting to become an ass about all this. It's early in the season, a big prime time game, and sits Duncan and Ginobli. C'mon. At least try and even care about the fans who came to see the game and the match ups. Yep. Big prime-time road game 5 games in. He's just being a dick.
  8. Yeah CarGo is elite defensively.
  9. Hopefully Silver has a spine like Stern and fines the hell out of the Spurs and Popovich again
  10. 9th/dweezy coming up for anyone who cares. I wonder if Ozzie permanently killed off the superstition of not changing up your defense.
  11. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Nov 6, 2014 -> 07:59 PM) He just goes to the line all game. It's pretty ridiculous, 63 FTs in the first 4 games He also looks a million times better on defense. Houston is making a mockery of the nba right now. Granted the schedule hasn't been great.
  12. Doing a special broadcast with some bubble notes filled with trivia.
  13. James Harden has been other worldly so far this year.
  14. QUOTE (Jake @ Nov 6, 2014 -> 11:46 AM) Lowest voter turnout since the 1940s, if not of all time, according to collected data. Gotta love voter suppression, er, fraud prevention strategies! Do you actually believe that number is because of voter suppression? Come on now.
  15. QUOTE (LDF @ Nov 5, 2014 -> 07:11 PM) only if they sweeten the deal with a prospect and ask for E. Johnson in rtn. on a side note. does anyone else think this might have been a result of Cuddyer accepting the QO ???? like the domino effect, I would guess the dominoes fell the other way around
  16. QUOTE (StRoostifer @ Nov 5, 2014 -> 06:31 PM) Dick is right. I know this was discussed a month or two ago but CarGo comes with injury history concerns, questionable splits away from Coors Field and a huge salary. 16M in 2015 17M in 2016 20M in 2017 Anyone willing to take on that salary needs their head examined and subjected to random drug testing, or at least share with the rest of us. I'll take on the salary. Erik Johnson for Cargo. Boom.
  17. Belisario- 3.9 mil, NO Flowers- 2.1, Yes, surprised it's projected that low Viciedo- 4.4, Yes, still cheap Noesi- 1.9, Yes Jones- .6, Yes Guerra- 1.3, yes
  18. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Nov 4, 2014 -> 11:57 AM) Alex Rios's agent is Paul Kinzer. He has never had Scott Boras as his agent. It's Boras now
