CNN has helicopters hovering over Miami PD. Story of the century.
  8. QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ Jan 23, 2014 -> 04:08 PM) Personally the word thug gets thrown around way too much to describe, and let's be real now, young black athletes. When's the last time a white athlete was called a thug? I don't recall that word being used to describe Incognito even though he was recorded threatening another person and his family with violence. Was it used against Roethlisburger? Not that I can remember. Oh but ranting on TV and being a poor sport now makes you a thug even though no real crimes were committed. I hate bringing race into this but just read twitter, FB and YouTube and Sherman is being called a thug and much more worse things including the N word. All because he sounded like a roided up WWF wrestler for half a minute, SMH. I ain't accussing anyone of that here, just wanted to vent on the ridiculousness of this. /rant I've seen Justin Bieber called a thug a lot all morning. Justin Bieber.
  9. Random musings: -I think I would have a hard time ranking Ravelo and definitely Montas in out system's top 25. I certainly wouldn't consider either to be the prospect tgat Engel is, who is behind them. No way am I buying into Montas at 20. -I would have a tough time ranking Zapata too but that has less to do with his ability and more of where's he's at. - 1 through 16 I could see all those guys become good major league contributors and most of them soon. Our system has come a ways in a year. - top 10 looks good but personally I'd have Johnson at 6 and probably switched with Hawkins. Really like Micah and am surprised not to see him get more love. -the top 4 should be set in stone.
  10. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jan 23, 2014 -> 04:38 AM) Fantasy question. I'm in 1st place (w/Durant) and lost my 2nd point guard (1st rose, then Jrue) but have Isiah whose been good. Considering a Rubio/Love for Lee/Dirk deal. I'd be getting Rubio and Love. Does that make sense? I don't thing you need a PG that badly since Thomas has to be like top 3 in fantasy PGs this year. But do it anyways for Love. fake edit. I just Googled Thomas' numbers and his assists arent what I thought they were. Still probaly a top 5 pg left standing and that apg rate seems to be edging higher.
  11. Hollins with his best Rodney Williams impersonation. Wow

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Jan 21, 2014 -> 09:01 PM) I caught Oblivion over the weekend. I thought it was pretty solid actually. A little surprised I liked it as much as I did. The story is a little empty, and the Morgan Freeman/Jamie Lannister side-plot didn't get enough screen time to handle the emotion it was supposed to carry, but wow was it cool to watch. Visuals were great. And Cruise wasn't all that annoying. The movie is pretty terrible but the visuals and sound effects are incredible. Actually probably the only movie I've ever watched and noticed just how good the sound was. Wolf of Wall Street is definitely a top ten movie ever for me.
  13. QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Jan 22, 2014 -> 08:32 PM) I was at the gym last night during the end of the KSU/Texas game. Just terrible defense by KSU and a sweet stroke by that Texas player to win the game with under 2 seconds left. I gotta give Bruce props, I would've figured his team had a 0% chance of being ranked this season after the first few weeks of the season. Weber has done an incredible job so far at KSU. That roster this year looked absolutely horrendous but they will probably be dancing barring a big collapse. It sucks to see we likely won't be with a much better roster but neither here nor there.
  14. Bears Bills Cardinals Giants Jaguars Raiders Rams Steelers 8 teams who can be forced to have Hard Knocks. Reading around the net everyone wants the Bears.
  15. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Jan 22, 2014 -> 04:25 PM) It is really a 4 yr deal in reality. It's a 4 year deal if he's good. If he sucks it'sa 7 year deal and then lol at the Yankees.
  16. Hopefully the leaks start a flowing then. AZ knows something. Either Tanaka told them directly or that their bid fell way short. Hope this writer tells us the latest.
  17. And then there were 4.
  18. At least there's usually fun rumors we can speculate on when it comes to transactions. This just sucks.
  19. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jan 21, 2014 -> 08:57 PM) Considering that bet is dependent on Tanaka, should just bet the 20 to 1 that the Sox land Tanaka. A lot safer odds and only one thing needs to go right. I put 5 down.
  20. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jan 21, 2014 -> 08:39 PM) I think the real questions are: 1) Do public figures deserve privacy protection? 2) Does it matter if the public figure has deceived for potential profit? 3) Should we ask the media to filter stories for us? I dont really know what is right here, I do know that when in doubt Id rather not let the media filter stories. 1. To an extent. 2. Greatly yes. You forfeit the right to a private background once you have deceived based on a background. 3. Absolutely not.
  21. QUOTE (The Ultimate Champion @ Jan 21, 2014 -> 06:55 PM) 14 $10M 15 $25M 16 $25M 17 $25M 18 $25M PO 19 $25M PO Throw this at them Ricky boy, 6 years $130M with opt-outs after Year 4 & Year 5 Sox aren't retracting their offer, they're retracting their foreskin & getting ready to do some damage. Player options for that amount of money are such a disaster no matter what. If he sucks you're saddled with 25 million. If he's good he's opting out. Nothing is likely to work out for the team. I'd go maybe one option but definitely not 2.
  22. If it's 6 years 120 I very much hope it is us
  23. Agreed. R.I.P. #teamtank November 13 - January 14
