  1. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Aug 27, 2009 -> 09:45 PM) They're watching the make-believe version of Tony Pena because it helps them when they complain about the Pena-Allen trade over and over, and over, and over... Pena has been awful for us. What are you talking about?
  2. wedenesy day night drunk is my favorite
  3. The best defense of Walker is that our players won't get any better if he leaves. So basically, we're all in agreement that a move would not hurt.
  4. This is for Nolan's Batman by the way. Not a new series.
  5. Megan Fox is the new Catwoman.
  6. It's not an arm/shoulder injury so I don't buy that we need to protect him. If he's healthy, he's healthy and needs to go out there.
  7. I didn't think anything could get more frustrating than the 2003 team, but we may be nearing in.
  8. Getz: 5. Which current White Sox player would make the best President of the United States? Alexei Ramirez
  9. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Aug 25, 2009 -> 02:00 AM) In 05 it took Ozzie way too long to remove Carl from the 3 hole. I wonder how long it will take him to remove Dye from the 3 hole this year. Or bring him to the bench permanently. We have our new 60 million dollar man sitting out 2 of 3 games now.
  10. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Aug 25, 2009 -> 01:28 AM) Is the game thread as vile while Buerhle has been getting lit up lately? You're comparing that to Buehrle? At least Buehrle is able to let the other team hit him.
  11. WAS IT OVER WHEN THE GERMANS BOMBED PEARL HARBOR? Or something.
  12. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Aug 24, 2009 -> 08:59 PM) despite my previous post, i happen to think the Sox play better on the road and this "make or break" road trip will finally bring out the best in them. Their backs are to the wall, they know it. I even think they'll kick ass in the dome. Here's to kicking off the turning point in the season! Red Sox 1. Jacoby Ellsbury, CF 2. Dustin Pedroia, 2B 3. Victor Martinez, C 4. Kevin Youkilis, 1B 5. David Ortiz, DH 6. Jason Bay, LF 7. Mike Lowell, 3B 8. J.D. Drew, RF 9. Alex Gonzalez, SS -- Clay Buchholz, RHP White Sox 1. Scott Podsednik, CF 2. Gordon Beckham, 3B 3. Jermaine Dye, RF 4. Jim Thome, DH 5. Paul Konerko, 1B 6. Carlos Quentin, LF 7. A.J. Pierzynski, C 8. Alexei Ramirez, SS 9. Jayson Nix, 2B -- Jose Contreras, RHP Needs more Rios.
  13. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Aug 24, 2009 -> 05:46 PM) If I see a "are you in or out?" poll I will throw my computer. Oh come on, those are so much fun though. If we lose tonight it has to be made.
  14. QUOTE (Rooftop Shots @ Aug 21, 2009 -> 10:49 PM) I wish that I could remember who we were playing, but I remember Pablo Ozuna at the plate. The pitcher threw the ball, it bounced "in front" of home plate and into the catcher's mitt, and Pablo swung at it "after" it was already in the mitt. Hawk was laughing his head off wondering...."What the heck was that?" I think he said that was the first time he ever saw someone swing at a pitch when it was already in a catcher's mitt. The bounce in front of the plate made it even more hilarious! Anyone else remember seeing that? And have a better memory of who that was against? I remember that. So awesome.
  15. QUOTE (Tex @ Aug 24, 2009 -> 01:11 PM) Not having choices of where to eat would drive me nuts. My son is at Texas State and they have seven or eight campus dining halls plus all the food exchanges at Blimpies, Zatarans etc. It takes some adjusting to the food but she should be fine. At Illinois, most everyone ends up leaving for an apartment after freshmen year, which is what I did. Except I am of no use in the kitchen which has made quickly realize I was lucky at hall to have a dining hall in my dorm, ha.
  16. Yeah I had a corner too which really worked out well. Food is not very good, but that's about the only complaint with Bromley. Everything else is far superior compared to living in one of the public dorms.
  17. QUOTE (Tex @ Aug 24, 2009 -> 01:56 PM) She's in Bromley. She joined like five organizations over the weekend. So far she's enjoying it. I lived there last year. Awesome place.
  18. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Aug 20, 2009 -> 08:52 PM) Wow. So when you first started posting on the ESPN boards you were what, 10 or 11? I'm 26. Haha, yep. 2001 I think I started posting on ESPN, so right around that age.
  19. QUOTE (EvilJester99 @ Aug 20, 2009 -> 01:52 AM) So if Wags just went on waivers there is no way he makes it out of the NL No. He'll almost certainly clear. We won't put in a claim, either.
  20. QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Aug 19, 2009 -> 08:02 PM) I sort of like Lexi still not having his head out of his ass. Listening to Hawk talk about him makes it all worth it. You know if it was any other player Hawk would have b****ed about the blown call instead.
