Who Is Kenny Trying to Shake Loose?
QUOTE (CanOfCorn @ Jul 6, 2009 -> 08:51 PM) Agreed, but look at the quality of prospects then to now. And no, I'm not overvaluing. I think there are a lot more untouchables in the system now than there were in the recent memory. And really, how many of those prospects Kenny dealt/cut have done anything? All have them combined have done to nothing, which would probably suggest KW would be even more willing to deal. Jeremy Reed, coming off a .400+ season, was a guy as highly touted as just about anyone in our minor league system currently. We dealt him in a 3 chip set that included an already established young catcher, and another solid prospect in Morse for Ben Davis and Freddy Garcia. I wouldn't put it by KW to do anything, outside of cashing in on Beckham.

Do you watch women's sports?
Women are very inferior to men in almost every sport. I can't think of one they are better at actually. Maybe gymnastics, but I'm ignorant of the sport. Why settle for a lesser product.

Films Thread
QUOTE (santo=dorf @ Jul 3, 2009 -> 06:26 PM) I like the 10 movie nods. Why should the best movie have the same amount of entries as best supporting actor or actress? Why do critics have top 10, not 5, lists? The Reader certainly did not deserve a nomination for best picture last year. WALL-E, The Dark Knight, Grand Torino, and The Wrestler were significantly better. http://criticstop10.com/ 1. Wall-E 2. The Dark Knight 3. Slumdog Millionaire 4. Milk 5. The Wrestler 20. Gran Torino 23. Revolutionary Road 38. The Reader

Mark Buehrle selected to the All-Star Game
None of the final vote either. What a joke.

Mark Buehrle selected to the All-Star Game
MB is the only one it looks like. We might have a couple of last spot candidates in Pods and Dye though. Lots of Rays there.

QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Jul 2, 2009 -> 01:52 AM) They have the standard black ones now at the Cell, as they were everywhere at the Cubs/Sox series. Those were the ones I was talking about. Those are about the only Sox apparel I buy. Have Griffey and Alexei.- Protecting Gordon
His spot in the order can't be argued for 2nd or 3rd, not with Alexei and Dye there. 6th, you have a case for.- 7/1 Game Thread Sox @ Cleveland 6:05pm WCIU
Have they made Beckham t-shirt jerseys yet? Because I want one.- 7/1 Game Thread Sox @ Cleveland 6:05pm WCIU
Thank god he has a glove, unlike most everyone else on the team. If Q is done, slinging a deal for a legit CF still makes this team really good.- 7/1 Game Thread Sox @ Cleveland 6:05pm WCIU
This team is pretty good right now.- 7/1 Game Thread Sox @ Cleveland 6:05pm WCIU

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 2, 2009 -> 01:20 AM) Would anyone sign him for $4-6 million for the 2010 season (with maybe 50% of the contract coming via incentives)? I'm probably in the minority, but no I would not.- 7/1 Game Thread Sox @ Cleveland 6:05pm WCIU
BA showing his range.- 7/1 Game Thread Sox @ Cleveland 6:05pm WCIU
Eh, go ahead run at 3rd, not time to get greedy with Dye up. Oh well, good job Alexei.- Official 2009-2010 NBA Thread
Nice to see him gone.- Giants like Dye?
3.4 is his base this year with a ridiculous incentive laden contract; he can make up to 8. Yeah, it's pretty much impossible to tell who is going to get what after last off-season. Winning the division would be huge for payroll too. You can only add to payroll after back-to-back titles I would think.- Future makeup of starting rotation
QUOTE (Stan Bahnsen @ Jul 1, 2009 -> 08:26 PM) stuff Greatest post ever.- Giants like Dye?
Not looking at who is getting increases, I believe we have about 41 million off the books this season with the Colon, Count, Dotel, Dye, and Thome contracts expiring. Would love to see Dye get signed somewhere around 2 years, 16 million. Dotel I would like brought back too, and pick up a team option for Pods that we hopefully put in there in the ballpark of about 3 million. Try and get O-Dog for 5 million and I love the line-up. 1. Podsednik, CF 2. Ramirez, SS 3. Dye, RF/DH 4. Konerko, 1B 5. Quentin, LF 6. AJP, C 7. Beckham, 3b 8. Hudson, 2B 9. Fields/Viciedo/Allen/Someone else, RF/DH Not a bad start for a team that would still have plenty of money to spend. We'd be delaying the youth movement by keeping the band back together for one more run, but whatever. Lots of righties too in the middle there but I don't really mind.- 7/1 Game Thread Sox @ Cleveland 6:05pm WCIU
QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jul 1, 2009 -> 05:24 PM) You should have read mine. EDIT: Here it is (The game where Ozuna had 2 CS and an error at 3rd.) I like how it's 4-3 in the 3rd there. That was one of the most memorable games from the 2005 season Cliffy faking a bunt, pulling it back, and getting the RBI single is something I'll never forget from that season. On another note, I had forgotten A-Row had hit 3rd for quite a bit in 05.- Giants like Dye?
QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Jul 1, 2009 -> 07:49 PM) Let's say that JD is dealt. What does our outfield look like? This season and next. I dont see us going into our minor leagues as we dont really have anyone ready to play RF. Which is why it's dumb to trade Dye. We won't be getting our money's worth by trading our current and future number 3 hitter. He still has to be part of future plans, whether it's in right or DH.- What the Sox need
We are absolutely not trading Dye. Even so, you know it's July 1st. Q would have to basically comeback now if we wanted to evaluate him, which isn't happening.- Official Recruiting Thread II
QUOTE (Jimbo's Drinker @ Jul 1, 2009 -> 01:08 AM) ....and Xavier Henry is going to Kentucky. What a strange family! And now staying at Kansas.- Giants like Dye?
It's July 1 and were 3.5 back. We have 31 days to make one incredible poor stretch with Detroit playing well too if we plan on selling off any pieces. I'm going to go ahead and say I doubt it happens.- 6/30 Game Thread Sox @ Cleveland 6:05pm CSN
QUOTE (Cali @ Jul 1, 2009 -> 01:18 AM) Josh Stewart...wow there's a blast from the mediocre past... Bobby Hill, Matt Ginter, Danny Wright, David Sanders. It's like a who's who in terrible MLB players. Of course the one above decent player from that draft ends up in our division on another team. - 7/1 Game Thread Sox @ Cleveland 6:05pm WCIU
