Quentin as a temporary 2 hitter?
QUOTE (Princess Dye @ Jun 15, 2009 -> 03:09 AM) We all know Alexei's skills set and it's tailor made for being lower in the order. Seeing fastballs is his skill-set and that's going to happen a lot to him when our lead-off man is currently hitting .311 with a .360 OBP. Alexei is hitting .287 with a .350 OBP in the 2 hole. If it ain't broke...

QUOTE (Soxfest @ Jun 14, 2009 -> 08:26 PM) a lawn dart could have a higher on base %! A lawn dart would be pretty hard to throw strikes to, to be fair.

MB's HR made me even more sad about the offense, to be honest.

QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jun 14, 2009 -> 05:56 PM) I would legitimately have no problem hitting Mark sixth today. There's likely a better chance of him getting a hit. .

Miguel Cotto vs Joshua Clottey (WBO Welterweight Title)
I didn't say he got robbed. Just the scores were jokes. I think this was a 114-113 fight either way, especially seeing that the middle of the fight was filled with definitive rounds for both fighters. I would have had no problem with a Cotto victory had the scores at least been closer.

Miguel Cotto vs Joshua Clottey (WBO Welterweight Title)
Awesome fight to watch though the scores were LOL worthy. Compubox shows Clottey had blocked pretty much anything meaningful from Cotto. Problem is Clottley kept getting stuck on the ropes, and regardless of Cotto landing next to nothing in those instances (save for round 6), it still looked good for him.

116-111? I had Clottey winning at 114-113

Not sure who I'm rooting for but I think Cotto takes it. Should be a good one.

Count is 0-20 lifetime. I know all pitchers are horrible at the plate, but watching him takes the cake.

QUOTE (BearSox @ Jun 13, 2009 -> 01:48 AM) Not really sure why we took out Clayton... was his pitch count really that high? If anything, we should have put Clayton at first and put Dotel in for Fields... and the sad part is, I'm only half joking. 102 for Richard. Still would have let him finish the inning. Did not seem to be tiring.

BS call. His foot slipped off when the tag wasn't on.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 13, 2009 -> 01:13 AM) Frankly, this lineup looks an awful lot like a normal NL lineup for 80% of the teams in that league. I wouldn't go that far. Like Stoney said, our 4 hitter has 13 RBIs.

QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jun 13, 2009 -> 01:12 AM) Injury delay? What's up? JD hit one off his knee. Every time I see him do that I think if that AB he had in the play-offs with Oakland. Anyways, he's fine.

As president of the Widgenation, I fully support a move back to the White Sox.

Sox can't let go...
They each had the right to go to Charlotte or become a FA as far as I know (did Betemit accept assignment yet?). We're paying them anyways; we mind as well get some hopefully unneeded depth.

A MESSAGE TO THE SOXTALK COMMUNITY
In addition to a slimming down of personal attacks, I wouldn't mind seeing an end to the "I'm too good for this thread" or "Not this again" posts that have been becoming more frequent as this season wears on.
