  1. QUOTE (TitoMB345 @ Jun 7, 2009 -> 09:54 PM) Well, bases loaded, at least we got one? Gotta love progress.
  2. BA rocking a career .105 average with the bases loaded.
  3. At least the Cubs f***ed up worse than we did.
  4. There isn't a worse hitter with the bases juiced than BA. Prove me wrong.
  5. Two will get in before the inevitable Beckham GW Grand Slam.
  6. Without looking it seems like the Cubs have played a ton of Xtra inning games, especially as of late. But maybe it's just because we seem to never go extras.
  7. QUOTE (joesaiditstrue @ Jun 7, 2009 -> 08:16 PM) Terrible arguement there You're either wanting him fired for the production of the players, or you're not You don't get to shift to another arguement of "Well, he should be gone if we're paying him to do nothing" The only time a fan should want someone fired is if they're hurting the production of the ballclub, not because they're cashing checks for doing nothing Wait, what? You're defending "cashing checks and doing nothing"? LOL Anyways, I just want someone in there who could teach a different approach/stress different things/do anything at all differently. Will it work? I have no idea. But at this rate it's not going to hurt the club.
  8. Why did I get my hopes up with a White Sox offensive player coming in and producing right away?
  9. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jun 7, 2009 -> 08:11 PM) I was driving yesterday and listened to Rongey they had some guys on during BP, they were working on going the other way. They work on it, but when it comes to game time it doesn't seem to happen. Isn't there the slightest possibility it is personnel-related? Very much so. But Walker clearly isn't getting through to them either. So what's the point of having him around?
  10. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Jun 7, 2009 -> 08:03 PM) Indeed. The question would be, do we trade Thornton or Jenks? Those two guys could bring in a s*** ton of talent. Can't trade Thorton IMO. I'm weary of trading Jenks but if we could get two great prospects for him, it'd be worth it. It would have to be quite the haul though.
  11. QUOTE (klaus kinski @ Jun 7, 2009 -> 08:00 PM) We should get Alex Sinnellias to donate for every visitor HR because we are being out homered every series in our own park In loving memory of Ursula.
  12. We could make quite the killing selling off our bullpen.
  13. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Jun 7, 2009 -> 07:51 PM) While you can blame a large part of that on mindset, are you going to tell me that the hitting coach escapes all blame? And if he does escape all blame, that makes him expendable. So I'm lost as to why people call out those who want Walker fired. No one seems to think Walker has done a good job, not even his defenders.
  14. I'm not watching today's game, but I'd like to point out DJ's ERA is down to god damn 2.21 in a lot of IPs pitched. He has like the worst stuff in baseball. Someone explain it. Also, make him our 5 starter.
  15. QUOTE (TitoMB345 @ Jun 7, 2009 -> 07:40 PM) It really makes me laugh that the only argument in defending Walker is that Cooper should be getting just as much s***, rofl. It's truly laughable.
  16. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jun 7, 2009 -> 07:33 PM) Why is Cooper not getting any crap for Colon giving up all of these home runs? There are a lot of people on this board that make no sense. If the Sox offense is bad, its on the hitting coach. If they give up 6 runs in 5 innings, the pitching coach has nothing to do with it. Because Coop has succeeded with a great number of our pitchers beyond their expectations (including a good deal of young guys) where Walker flat-out hasn't (including a good deal of young guys). Coop also has arguably the best 'pen in baseball right now. But really, to make it clear, if we were to fire both Coop would have another job in a week and Walker wouldn't.
  17. It's comedic that Colon's ERA is still under 4.
  18. I'm dumbfounded that people still defend Walker on this board.
  19. QUOTE (TitoMB345 @ Jun 7, 2009 -> 06:28 PM) I propose we put DJ into the starting rotation in favor of Bartolo, and then after tomorrow, keep Jose as far away as possible. DJ has like the worst stuff in baseball but he's a miracle worker in long relief. It's worth a shot.

  21. QUOTE (South Side Fireworks Man @ Jun 7, 2009 -> 05:56 PM) Very weak 5 thru 8. Fixed.

QUOTE (Kid Gleason @ Jun 5, 2009 -> 04:24 PM) I agree he should be burned at the stake, but only because he is helping to keep that original piece of crap alive. Lord, I HATED that book. I will never understand why that thing is so beloved. You can join him.
