  1. QUOTE (Wanne @ Apr 19, 2009 -> 02:32 AM) Toby who?!?.... btw...is he even playing this year? They showed him on TV at the game yesterday.

  3. You should get an extra foul in OT. It makes no sense not to.
  4. QUOTE (hawkubes @ Apr 18, 2009 -> 12:46 AM) Apparently Jerry Owens is the only due up next half inning, that oughta be an easy one. LOL, what the hell was that
  5. The first question on the last quiz was the problem.
  6. QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Apr 15, 2009 -> 11:18 PM) 12.75 + or minus 2.33(4.44/sqroot of 20) is the equation. I took the quiz over 30 times and I kept getting it wrong using that same formula. Never did get it right, even put the same answer as the one you gave. Maybe my Mallard is screwed up or something. I even did it just now using that equation and got it wrong(I knw you can't submit past 5, but it'll tell you if you're right or wrong). I'm going to talk to the TA I guess.
  7. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 15, 2009 -> 10:17 PM) 2.4 to 23.1, I believe. Is this the range? I need the "mean +- somethingsomething". Obviously the mean is easy since they give it to you. I can't figure out the somethingsomething part though. I have been doing 2.33(sd/sqrt of sample). Does not seem to be working.
  8. A random sample of 20 college students was taken and it was found that they drank an average of 12.75 sodas per week and the sample standard deviation was 4.44. If we know that the number of sodas drank per week by college students is normally distributed, compute the 98% confidence interval estimate of the population mean. Anyone know the answer to that?
  9. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Apr 15, 2009 -> 08:59 PM) Anderson is a 4th OF who plays absolutely fantastic defense, hits lefties at a decent rate, and can't hit righties. There is nothing wrong with that, unless of course you don't have a starting CF to speak of. Yes.
  10. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 15, 2009 -> 08:55 PM) He walked 3 times in a row. He's hardly played. Even his big strikeout which apparently cost the White Sox the game really wasn't that horrendous of an AB. Gallaraga is tough on RH batters. BA hardly ever faces RHP. What do you expect is going to happen? He better learn how to hit righties if he's going to really be our everyday CFer.
  11. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 15, 2009 -> 08:53 PM) Getz is horrendous? He hasn't been exactly tearing it up on his short time up here this year. He is our only hope though.
  12. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 15, 2009 -> 08:52 PM) Because the leadoff hitter, who is hitting a combined .067 this season is supposed to be a higher quality hitter than the guy hitting ninth. BA failed to come through on his 7 official AB of the season and then came 25 posts just bashing him. Its beyond silly, and eventually BA will show how foolish it was. Somehow I doubt that. He's not only not coming through, he's having pathetic at bats. He is horrible up there.
  13. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 15, 2009 -> 08:41 PM) Keep bashing BA. Since when is it a "or" matter? BA is horrendous, as is anyone who has had the opportunity to hit leadoff.
  14. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Apr 15, 2009 -> 08:12 PM) I'm generally not a big "OMG HE STRIKES OUT TOO MUCH!!!11" guy, but Fields whiffs WAY too much to be hitting leadoff. And Wise, Getz, BA, and Lilli all get out to much to be hitting lead-off.
  15. QUOTE (stmorck @ Apr 15, 2009 -> 05:45 AM) Realize that Pods was also signed to a minor league contract and Owens was brought up. Who's to say Pods even gets to the Bigs. Owens is absolutely horrendous. It can't be too long until we see Pods.
  16. I can't believe I actually like this deal.
  17. I was at class and had to follow on my phone. BA replaced Wise in the middle of an inning. I assume he was hurt? Was it bad? EDIT: Now they show it.
  18. In a reader survey of over 5,000, Mark beat out every other team's nomination for Chicago fan favorite. I was surprised by that, even if the Sun-Times is the Sox paper. 31% for Mark 22% for Z 17% for Rose 15% for Kane 15% for Urlacher 24% was good for 3rd place for CQ in the best Chicago newcomer poll. Other notes is that 66% think we're heading in the right direction, 78% approve of Ozzie's job, 68% of KW's, 52% thought we had a good offseason, 56% named Fields as their breakout candidate (he was going against Marquez, Broadway, and Wise though...), 37% think Danks will have the most wins(36 for MB, and 20 for Gavin), and 34% think we'll finish first(29 for second, 23 for thrid, 8 for fourth, and 6 for fifth).
  19. QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Apr 11, 2009 -> 09:18 PM) Horacio Ramirez is in their starting staff. No We were just going by results here.
  20. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Apr 11, 2009 -> 09:13 PM) Through 4.5 games our starting pitching is the class of the AL Central. Royals?
