I love Badger ball. This is such a Big Ten-esque game.

When I heard this on the radio this morning I was like "Wow, what are you still doing in Spring Training?". I'd be out of there as fast as possible.

Your Final Four......
QUOTE(Jimbo @ Mar 1, 2007 -> 10:24 PM) I am worried about 2+ teams in the nation Ohio State, UCLA and anyone who starts with B. You guys would be worse off playing Bethune Cookman than someone like Pittsburgh in the first round.

What happened to ISU? How do you start out with wins over Butler, Purdue, Creighton, and Wichita State only to end the season by winning 1 of 14? Some injuries, perhaps?

The sport where coaches make the biggest difference is?
You could make a case for all the sports, but I went with basketball. The reason being it because it fully covers both sides of coaching- developing players and in game strategy. Basketball coaches have a direct impact just how good a player can be more so than any other sport IMO.

MLB 2K7
QUOTE(whitesoxin @ Mar 1, 2007 -> 12:47 AM) Has anybody played this on PS2? I know NBA 2K7 is a BA game on 360, but on PS2 it's not nearly as good. You mean the other way around, right? PS2/ XBOX versions have always had the better versions for sports games than 360 since EA includes way more features that they cut out of the 360 version. I'm guessing it's the same for MLB 2k7 too. Anyway, this game got 7.3'd by IGN.

Your Final Four......
QUOTE(Soxbadger @ Mar 1, 2007 -> 01:12 AM) I seem to be in the minority, but I expect a pretty poor showing from the Big 12. I honestly can see them not even getting 1 team to the elite 8 depending on the brackets. 100% Agreed! I'm making sure to have all Big 12 teams out early in my bracket.

Tourney TV Schedule
A lot of the smaller games were put on Full Court last year(Pre-championship game). Although it looks like most of them are getting the move to ESPNU, which sucks. As for the big conferences, ESPN will always dedicate a whole programming day to display the early round games on ESPN and ESPN2.

Trying to sort out the Big Ten: Indiana over NU Iowa over PSU Purdue over Minnesota Wisconsin over MSU Purdue over NU OSU over Michigan IU over PSU Iowa over Illinois(HUGE swing game. The Big Ten bracket will be defined by this game. Illinois is looking at anywhere from a 3 to 8 seed, probably in between 4 and 7 though.)

The problem with the RPI is that most people don't know how to read it correctly. No, it is not an exact ranking, but there there is a lot more to it than that. You have to look at a team's RPI case by case. I use the RPI almost exclusively when filling out my brackets and it helps a lot. Last year in a bracket pool of something like 5 million entrants, I had a basically perfect one and finished in the top 250(some of it was luck too). You have to know which teams beat the system and which ones don't, basically.

QUOTE(hitlesswonder @ Feb 28, 2007 -> 04:07 AM) If 5 Big Ten teams get bids (the max in my opinion), Purdue is more deserving (since they ripped Illinois by 17 points and had to play OSU/Wisc more than twice). The SC isn't going to limit how many teams the Big Ten gets. If all 11 were qualified, they'd take them all. And Illinois at this point is more qualified than any of the Big Ten bubble teams going purely on resumes. That may change this week though.

Mario Boggan just went up and headbutted a KSU player right in front of the ref with a 16 point lead and 30 seconds left. What an idiot. He's their leading scorer and will likely be suspended now just when OSU needs some wins. He better hope it is just against Baylor and Nebraska and doesn't extend into the tourney.

Are the Illini In or Out?
Illinois should be in, but I wouldn't be surprised to see the SC leave them out if they lose the next two. If they lose vs. Iowa, their looking at a 6 or 7 seed anyway which would insure another win over Penn State or Northwestern. Then they possibly get Indiana and then a date with the Badgers in the semis. That may actually look better than beating Iowa, taking the 4/5 game, only to get killed by the Buckeyes the next day.
