  1. Wilmont with the luckiest 40 seconds I've ever seen from a player.
  2. No one in the NL winning 90 games??
  3. A lot of the smaller games were put on Full Court last year(Pre-championship game). Although it looks like most of them are getting the move to ESPNU, which sucks. As for the big conferences, ESPN will always dedicate a whole programming day to display the early round games on ESPN and ESPN2.
  4. Do you mean for the NCAA tourney or conference?
  5. Trying to sort out the Big Ten: Indiana over NU Iowa over PSU Purdue over Minnesota Wisconsin over MSU Purdue over NU OSU over Michigan IU over PSU Iowa over Illinois(HUGE swing game. The Big Ten bracket will be defined by this game. Illinois is looking at anywhere from a 3 to 8 seed, probably in between 4 and 7 though.)
  6. The problem with the RPI is that most people don't know how to read it correctly. No, it is not an exact ranking, but there there is a lot more to it than that. You have to look at a team's RPI case by case. I use the RPI almost exclusively when filling out my brackets and it helps a lot. Last year in a bracket pool of something like 5 million entrants, I had a basically perfect one and finished in the top 250(some of it was luck too). You have to know which teams beat the system and which ones don't, basically.
  7. QUOTE(hitlesswonder @ Feb 28, 2007 -> 04:07 AM) If 5 Big Ten teams get bids (the max in my opinion), Purdue is more deserving (since they ripped Illinois by 17 points and had to play OSU/Wisc more than twice). The SC isn't going to limit how many teams the Big Ten gets. If all 11 were qualified, they'd take them all. And Illinois at this point is more qualified than any of the Big Ten bubble teams going purely on resumes. That may change this week though.
  8. Mario Boggan just went up and headbutted a KSU player right in front of the ref with a 16 point lead and 30 seconds left. What an idiot. He's their leading scorer and will likely be suspended now just when OSU needs some wins. He better hope it is just against Baylor and Nebraska and doesn't extend into the tourney.
  9. QUOTE(thedoctor @ Feb 28, 2007 -> 02:19 AM) i feel weird saying it but pat summitt's got some nice legs. ...
  10. QUOTE(WhiteSoxfan1986 @ Feb 27, 2007 -> 11:42 PM) alright college basketball fans, which one of these teams deserves to be in the tourney more Team A 22-7 1-0 against top 25 RPI, 3-2 against top 50, 7-5 against top 100 13 road wins wins at Syracuse, Nova, and Creighton team B 21-9 2-6 vs. top 25 RPI, 3-8 vs. top 50, 6-9 vs. top 100 three road wins Terrible way to compare resumes, but team B
  11. QUOTE(watchtower41 @ Feb 27, 2007 -> 09:28 PM) Still don't see how everyone thinks Noah is a can't miss NBA player. He sucks and had a good run last year. period. Not even his own coach thinks that anymore according to Dickie V.
  12. Illinois should be in, but I wouldn't be surprised to see the SC leave them out if they lose the next two. If they lose vs. Iowa, their looking at a 6 or 7 seed anyway which would insure another win over Penn State or Northwestern. Then they possibly get Indiana and then a date with the Badgers in the semis. That may actually look better than beating Iowa, taking the 4/5 game, only to get killed by the Buckeyes the next day.
  13. So Championship Week begins tommorrow including the Horizon League getting under way. I'm going with a Loyola-Wright State final.
  14. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Feb 27, 2007 -> 03:19 AM) Has anyone ever played 5 clicks to Jesus on Wikipedia? No, but I'm glad to see someone else has played that game. I thought I made it up, but I have spent many long hours playing "clicks".
  15. Just turn on ESPN for further evidence.
  16. KU-OK in a good one. Can't say I agree with all these calls though.
  17. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Feb 27, 2007 -> 09:38 AM) Let me ask you. Have you ever been to a soccer game with 90,000 people in the stadium, chanting and singing, with fireworks and flares going off? But I'm not going to go further with this, just stating my opinion. I don't want to be called an elitist or anything. I've watched enough soccer to know what the crowds are like. Yes they are nuts, but they don't match the intensity of an indoor college basketball game.
  18. QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Feb 27, 2007 -> 09:14 AM) hate to stir the pot, but Korea 2002 and I don't even like soccer I didn't mean to say it doesn't happen at all. It happens basically every night in college basketball, whereas the examples from other sports are far fewer.
  19. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Feb 27, 2007 -> 08:20 AM) BTW, new rumor of Bill Self to Arkansas after the season. Which is a joke unless Kansas was to bow out against Boston U in the first round.
  20. Playing on a homecourt can make even the worst teams into one of the best in country for a night. You don't see this anywhere except for college basketball.
  21. Easily basketball. Look no further than the Big Ten.
  22. Richards has a slight chance against Simeon in the regional final.
  23. Jeff Hardy is the worst wrestler on the WWE roster. I simply cannot watch Raw when he is on. Also: "According to Dave Meltzer, there will be eight participants in this year’s Wrestlemania Money in the Bank match."
  24. Stopped reading at Gregg Doyel. I was hoping he would stop writing about CBB, but apparently that is not going to be the case. He was the laughing stock of CBB journalism when he held the CBB writer position at CBS. Now he is being outdone by Gary Parrish.
  25. QUOTE(SnB @ Feb 26, 2007 -> 02:30 AM) number thirty five....fraaaaaaaaaaank thomas. I liked his older Thomas call before he started extending his first name in that low tone.
