Finally beat Resistance. Awesome game. And I hate Cliffhanger endings when number 2 won't be out for atleast two more years.

QUOTE(redandwhite @ Feb 10, 2007 -> 11:37 PM) This could be the finished for Bobby Knight and the Red Raiders. If they don't do something miraculous, they'll join Illinois in the NIT. Can someone present me the case against Illinois and the NCAA? I would like to see it. I still think their a lock barring something very unusual happening.

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Feb 10, 2007 -> 09:49 PM) 4 teams are probably all the Big 10 gets, unless some teams get real hot. Had Iowa won today and regardless of the record they probably have the better overall resume plus the better conference record. Lucky for you guys we pissed it away with a f***ing inability to rebound anything. I will say this, Iowa right now is a borderline tourney team (if not a lock) but the problem is they were so terrible early on in the year that they probably aren't good enough to over come that hole (a win today would have been HUUUGE and now they'll have to have a couple big road wins and pretty much win out the big ten for them to have a chance). Hate to nit-pick, but Iowa isn't near an NCAA bid, nor do I think a win today would have made too much of a difference. RPI: 83 Record: 14-11(6-5 in 4th Best conference) RPI: 56 3 best wins: Indiana-15(home), Michigan-57(Away), Michigan State- 40(Home) RPI 50+ losses: Arizona State- 229(away), Northern Iowa-81(Home), Drake-109(away) Getting in with an RPI in the 80's would make Iowa the lowest RPI team ever to get an at-large. I just don't see them getting in unless they make some serious noise starting now, but even that may be too late. With OSU, Wisconsin and Indiana as locks, I'd rank the chances of the rest of the teams like this(in order of likliness of getting in): 1. Illinois 2. Purdue 3. Michigan State 4. Iowa 5. Michigan Illinois and Purdue are basically even to be honest. Using the relative factor, their RPI and SOS are identical. The difference with Illinois is that they hold a win over a RPI top 15 team and have fewer bad losses. Purdue does hold a head-to-head victory over them, however.

QUOTE(redandwhite @ Feb 10, 2007 -> 11:13 PM) It was over five seconds. The only debate Illinois fans can make is that DJ wasn't closely guarding him for five consecutive seconds. Which is the rule, no? Again, wasn't very close to 5 seconds.

QUOTE(redandwhite @ Feb 10, 2007 -> 09:52 PM) other was a clear five second call, probably closer to ten, in which no one moved. I'm sorry, but you obviously were paying attention to the game. It was no where near ten seconds, or five seconds for that matter.

Compare Illinois to this supposed lock: The Illinois Profile RPI: 42 SOS: 23 Record: 18-9(6-6 in 4th best conference in America) VS. RPI Top 50: 3-8 3 Best wins: Inidiana-19(home), Michigan State-41(Away), Bradley-50(Neutral) RPI 50+ losses: Michigan-54(Away) to RPI: 56 SOS: 88 Record: 16-7(6-3 in 7th best conference in America) VS. RPI Top 50: 2-6 3 Best wins: Arkansas- RPI of 33(home), Texas Tech-43(Away), Nebraska-82(Away) RPI 50+ losses: Gonzaga-53(neutral) Not that one comparison means something, but it's fun to compare.

QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Feb 10, 2007 -> 08:21 PM) What an amazing choke job, congrats on that. Time to get the NIT reservations settled and get ready for that fine recruiting class that will for sure make up the loss of Carter and McBride (and apparently Arnold too). What a waste of a season. Illinois doesn't have a NIT resume yet. They should be fine barring a major choke.

Someone explain the definition of a travel call to the refs. Half of them are nonexistant( like Carter's right there or Stemler's earlier) or they are blatent no calls(White's rolling on the ground).

LOL at that foul call. The replay was great. DJ White with a brilliant shot there. Only to be answered by Jamar Smith. AWESOME GAME

Non-existant travels, brutal no-call pushes from behind, no-calls on blatent rape. Just a bad day for the refs overall.

Is rape legal in Indiana? LOL, that was quite the no call. Entertaining game so far.

Why not foul Illinois every time down? It's about the equivalent to a turnover, give or take a few points here and there.

UFO's here...there...and everywhere!!!
I saw a UFO up in rural Michigan two summers ago. I really don't like to tell the story in person, because, well, people think I'm nuts. Luckily I was with a family member at the time so atleast there is one person who believes me. Anyway, I guarantee you what I saw was not of this earth. And judging by the actions of others in that area, we were not the only people to see something that night. I'll go ahead and use the typical "I wasn't a believer until I saw one for myself" line.

Anna Nicole Smith dead
QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Feb 9, 2007 -> 04:27 AM) I loved watching Access Hollywood earlier. They approached her death entering the break as some celebrity gossip feature. "Next, the TRAGIC death of Anna Nicole Smith;" which sounded more like "OMG, this is great news!" LOL, I saw it and was thinking the same thing. Even the segement was handled exactly like all their other gossip segments.

QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Feb 8, 2007 -> 10:03 PM) Select any pro wrestler featured during the late 80's/early 90's. I've always held this belief Hulk Hogan won't make it past his 55 birthday. Bam Bam Bigelow also died this week...

QUOTE(Soxbadger @ Feb 8, 2007 -> 09:28 PM) http://espn.go.com/i/ncaa/07mens_MOCKbracket.gif That would be a really nice bracket for Wisconsin. Florida/UNC on the other side. 2nd time in two days I've seen a bracket that has Texas in the 8/9 game. I'm sitting here dumbfounded. I mean honestly, what have they done to get in the tournament(for those keeping score at home, the answer is nothing)? And why such a high seed if you do put them in?
