SOX VS ANGELS.... Garcia 1 hit gem
QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Sep 13, 2006 -> 09:55 PM) I just got home. I didn't know the game started already. Someone wanna give me a recap and score? Freddy gives us another reason to trade him this offseason. His act is getting tiresome.

Frank Thomas v. Jim Thome
I skipped over it, but judgin by the title, I believe Mariotti had a Frank Thomas praise piece in the Sun-Times today(Maybe even bashing the Sox a little for letting him go?). Unbelievable.

Frank Thomas v. Jim Thome
QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Sep 12, 2006 -> 01:12 AM) What the hell are you talking about? You said In response to Frank's bad start to the season. Doesn't it make perfect sense to llok at April numbers when you say "Oakland's players never got it going in the first place" and when talking about Frank's down month? (WHICH WAS APRIL) No. They never got going in the first place, meaning at any point throughout the season(Although they have been red hot in September). (The A's have been consitently bad on offense, not just in April. The White Sox, however, have not, hense the comparison. I was not talking about the start of the season with my first post. I do not know where you got that from). And please, check your tone.

Frank Thomas v. Jim Thome
QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Sep 12, 2006 -> 12:27 AM) More bulls***. April Numbers Chavez: .301/.392/.681 (very unusual for him) Milton Bradley: .246/.373/.406 Kotsay: .350 OBP Swisher: .313/.404/.718 Jason Kendall was terrible with the bat yet still had a .355 OBP Those guys have little impact on Frank's crappy .669 OPS, and he only had 11 RBI's with 5 regulars in the lineup having an OBP> .349 Why don't you guys look this stuff up before making such claims? You are throwing 1 month's total statistics to disprove those points? Let's look at the cumalative numbers here. Oakland ranks in the bottom four in runs, hits, total bases, RBI, batting average, slugging percentage, OPS, and are 7th in OBP and 9th in home runs. Yet Thomas has put up great numbers in nearly all of those categories. Up until September, He never got a lot of help no matter what way you look at it. Thome seems to have always done so.

Frank Thomas v. Jim Thome
QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Sep 12, 2006 -> 12:22 AM) Why do you keep saying this? There was no misdiagnosis, he fractured his navicular bone, again. The Sox knew it, Frank knew it. Don't his lawyers believe otherwise? EDIT: http://www.sportingnews.com/yourturn/viewtopic.php?p=922376

Frank Thomas v. Jim Thome
QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Sep 11, 2006 -> 11:44 PM) our other players have stopped, not him. To use this excuse for why Jim Thome's production has slipped just proves the point further for Frank Thomas. Oakland's players never got going in the first place, offensively speaking, yet Thomas is putting up monster numbers.

Frank Thomas v. Jim Thome
Going into the season, I would have gladfully taken Thome. But now I might give the slight edge to Thomas.

White Sox vs. Tribe
Despite the dislike for Riske on here, he's been fairly good with us. Hopefully he can get the job done here.

White Sox vs. Tribe
They should change the bullpen door to a revolving one.

Sox fans, Brace for Changes
QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Sep 9, 2006 -> 09:22 PM) Makes sense... its not like they are coming out of the same minor league system having learned from the same coaches into the same big league situation or anything.... Why wouldn't you compare them? They both have/had the same long swing they are/were trying to cut down on, after having success with it at the minor league level. They both have/had the same problem with the hard breaking stuff away. They both bring superior defense to the game even as rookies, and are working under pressure at the major league level to learn how to hit. I don't know where the comparison between the two players would come from at all though... You are missing the point. You compared them as rookies. Just because Joe Crede has gotten out of almost all of those flaws does not mean Brian Anderson will, even though I do have the confidence to say he will do just that.

Isn't the bean the coolest thing ever created?

Please stop the "Because Crede did it, Anderson will do it, too". Just think about how ridiculous that arugment is when your really think about it.
