I was going to post something similar to this. Marte is definitely showing promise as our "closer of the future." He for sure has the stuff and the control for it. The only thing we have to see is if he has the fearlessness and intimidation factor that you need to be truly dominant. Does Marte remind anybody else of a young, lefty Flash Gordon?

He started the season lights out. Hopefully he can return to form...

That's true. I just feel like Benson CAN be a better pitcher than his totals thus far this year. He last few outings (against Boston and the Angels) have certainly shown his upside. I feel like if he can get in a good rhythm, he'll be able to sustain it for an extended period.

If he's the best guy available in the minors, then bring him up! The only other guy I would make an argument for is Wunsch. He had maybe three solid outings before he was sent to AAA and the DL. I don't think he's given up a run. Hopefully he can get healthy and contribute as the 7th inning set-up.

Burnett had an ERA in the 10s before he put up an awesome outing against us. Benson has more dominating stuff than anybody on our staff right now. I think he'd be good since we probably wouldn't have to give up too much for him. I'm sure he'd be more consistent than Garland and Scho. Who knows, maybe he'd even displace MB or EL. He's been on a tear lately.

I think everybody is predicting Carlos will start slumping now. Thus, having Maggs back in the 4-hole is pretty important.

Yup. If we have to rely on rookies to get good innings out of the pen, so be it.

I think for this team to do well in regular season, we obviously need a starter. However, I think for us to play well in the playoffs, we need to move Jose. Not that he's a bad player, but we need Harris at 2nd and Rowand (or an acquisition) in CF. I love Harris, but he ain't a good defensive CF.

Hopefully our pen can turn it around. Has Cotts pitched well in any outing since his "start" against the Twins?

Ok. I thought there was a lot of certainty that it would be Munoz so long as no one was acquired during the week, and that information had come from the Sox organization.

Yeah, I think that's probably what would happen. It's sort of interesting that the Sox have not announced their starter for Saturday (or if they have, it's been off the radar and I've missed it).

So if we get a CF (a la Beltran, Finley, Everett) does that mean Jose is gone? Does he get traded somewhere?
