  1. Wasn’t this the joke about them (workers) being told they would take a pay cut to afford both?
  2. FWIW, WSD said he got a text last week that said Sox are very, very confident they’ll get one of the big 2. This was on red line radio podcast
  3. https://mobile.twitter.com/MLBNetwork/status/1078005928652431360 arguably the least surprising thing I’ve heard this offseason
  4. Still would rather have Avi than any free agent outfielder besides Bryce.
  5. When you go to a department store in the south suburbs and there is no Sox equipment, that seems like the hammer has been slammed down.
  6. Can the Cubs needle even move higher than it already has in Chicago
  7. Yeah either the Sox feel good about their chances or they really want our fans to be let down
  8. Fine with me, more important for Sox to land one than anything else.
  9. Nice research but I was just going based off of the reports about the Dodgers priorities. For a week everyone thought they were trying to clear space for Harper (including some supposed “insiders”) but it became the narrative that they weren’t interested in him necessarily. I said they should go after Harper and Kluber due to their current window, but I don’t think they will go after both. Weird for you to pick on me though as at least I wasn’t melting down about the Sox chances compared to most on here.
  10. Even if they (Cubs) get Harper, that's not going to change much in terms of the relevancy of the Sox. They're already about as irrelevant as possible in Chicago. The only Sox fans remaining are likely not going to jump ship now, as they would have done that in 2016.
  11. I know there's a lot of skepticism with him, but Incarcerated Bob seems to be implying he might have some news on Harper tonight. He also retweeted the sun-times article about how the WSox fans should be prepared for disappointment. Bob has been pretty accurate with things so far this offseason.
  12. If the Cubs can’t fix his swing, I have no faith the Sox can
  13. Yet he’s a good fit for the Cubs where you have exceptional offense at other positions. Run prevention is something they’ve really excelled at thanks in large part to Heyward
  14. I would legit become a Brewers fan if that happens
  15. That would be a move for the future for the Giants, as they get a nice controllable piece in Happ and two good prospects while unloading Melancon's awful deal. There's been speculation they want premier outfielder defenders.
  16. I don't think Theo cares, as he'll probably be moving on in a few years anyways.
  17. I've seen proposals like the following, and it could make some sense: Heyward, (and 40 million), Happ, Amaya and Azolay for Melancon and Will Smith.
  18. I think still carl and Cat get their info from the same person
  19. Seems like some internal issues going on with Illinois program. Alan Griffin’s mom is going off on Underwood on twitter.
  20. Said it a few weeks ago, but De La Rosa shouldn't see a second of playing time. Ayo was simply horrible tonight as well.
  21. Yes no doubt but also pretty telling that they’re actively trying to create room for him. Not that this is a surprise, but this information is almost word for word what the Cat tweeted on 12/12
  22. Anyone discounting the Cubs is fooling themselves
  23. Happ is most likely to get dealt. Giants have some pitchers making a lot of money they could unload in a deal.
  24. I pretty much agree but not ready to say all these other names aren’t BS by Dodgers to give them more leverage in trading Verdugo for Kluber.
