What did people expect to happen when Soria got traded and there was absolutely nothing on the big league roster in terms of a suitable closer replacement? We saw similar bullpen issues immediately after all the pen guys got traded last year.

It's still puzzling to me how some think the Sox will have enough pitching depth to it have to invest in someone that can give them innings next year. I will be stunned if they rely on Rodon and then a bunch of question marks.

How do you know it's the minor league pitching coach struggling? Most of the development issues people are focusing on are Giolito and Lopez. Everyone knew they had some big warts that could prevent them from being MLB quality starters. The problem is everyone on here keeps assuming Cooper is magical. Since 2005, he should thank his lucky stars the Sox drafted a generational talent.
