  1. Still have my doubts they will get into an unprecedented bidding war
  2. QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Dec 13, 2017 -> 12:10 AM) He turned a 12 win OKST team into a 20 win, 7 seed team. He can do it at the P5 level. Like I said, he's got a tremendous reputation for being a top notch coach, he has enough results to back that up (in my opinion). But he has zero evidence in being able to build a program at the P5 level, so plenty of questions on whether he actually succeeds at Illinois. Didn't hurt he had a superstar pg at Oklahoma St and was replacing a horrible coach
  3. QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Dec 12, 2017 -> 11:50 PM) Underwood has the reputation and the results to back it up, he's a top tier coach. The questions are around his ability to build a P5 program (with recruiting, etc). I think he can do it, but the start isn't as encouraging as I would like. I wouldn't say he has the results to show he's a top-tier coach yet. Lots of guys have won huge at low to mid-majors only to be ineffective at the highest level
  4. No way in hell the Sox make this deal just for one season of machado
  5. QUOTE (IowaSoxFan @ Dec 12, 2017 -> 09:07 PM) The Cubs could be a player here, they are allegedly already in talks on moving a SS to San Diego and if they move Schwarber, they could conceivably end up with the players that the O's are looking for plus some extra pieces to replenish their farm. Machado at SS and Baez to 2B would give them a really good shot at getting another ring before their window starts to close. Would be lots of moving parts for not a significant increase in talent while adding huge to their payroll to extend Machado. They are way more likely to go after Harper next offseason
  6. QUOTE (hi8is @ Dec 11, 2017 -> 04:57 PM) What'd dude say? Nothing remotely interesting
  7. QUOTE (steveno89 @ Dec 11, 2017 -> 03:54 PM) Why would Boston do that? JBJ surely has more trade value than Schwarber after his replacement level 129 games in 2017? I get Cubs fans are obsessed with him, but outside of playoff heroics he just hasn't been very good. So they're not getting Benintendi for him like they think?
  8. Watched whole Illinois game and there really weren't that many questionable foul calls. Illinois players just don't know how to play defense without being too aggressive right now. Alstork in particular was totally out of control last night and Lucas has a horrible habit of lowering his shoulder every time he drives
  9. Was incredible last year but he seems like a top candidate for injury issues based on injury history and usage last year
  10. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Dec 9, 2017 -> 05:16 PM) For real though, the Marlins should be contracted or moved. It never fails, they spend some money, then a few years later sell the players off for pennies on the dollar. Really wish Sox would go get Yelich and Pradi now. Agree with you, the Marlins are a joke
  11. Yolmer makes a lot of sense as a cheap 2b for Yankees to help out Torres
  12. QUOTE (Dam8610 @ Dec 9, 2017 -> 04:40 AM) Certainly makes it more likely that Harper ends up a Dodger. Cough Cubs Cough
  13. Sounds like Yanks are gonna likely get him according to numerous baseball writers
  14. QUOTE (Dam8610 @ Dec 9, 2017 -> 01:11 AM) Hopefully they'll come calling for Avi. Outside of Ramos, SF has nothing that interests me for Avi
  15. QUOTE (bmags @ Dec 8, 2017 -> 10:31 PM) I don't know how people read that and think "the cubs are cool" instead of "god the cubs are insufferable" Makes me think Theo needs to stop watching Ballers
  16. QUOTE (Dam8610 @ Dec 8, 2017 -> 05:21 AM) Trading prospects at this stage is counterproductive. Not if you're getting someone that fits the timetable though as a long-term core piece
  17. Would love a Sox trade of Yelich without giving up Eloy/Kopech/Robert. Would be fine with Hansen headlining a package
  18. QUOTE (JenksIsMyHero @ Dec 4, 2017 -> 03:33 AM) Three straight games they've just given away. Hopefully by January they'll learn how to finish. Truly amazing how many turnover in the last few minutes of regulation them and their opponents have had in big ten play.
  19. Rangers and Cubs still in https://mobile.twitter.com/Evan_P_Grant/sta...514459425320961
  20. QUOTE (JenksIsMyHero @ Dec 4, 2017 -> 04:15 AM) The no call on Alstork was just balanced by that no call on the inbound. Basically refs are missing every call. Goal tending was terrible non-call, and I also liked when Frazier was three feet out of bounds and touched ball and no call.
  21. Some meltdown by Maryland. I'm sure Illinois fans won't complain about refs in last ten minutes after blown goal tending
  22. Can't wait for the hot take that they wasted their money on Robert instead of going all in for Ohtani
