  1. Sox supposedly liked Judge a lot a few years ago, as he was projected to them in a few mocks.
  2. Anderson's homer was off of Wada
  3. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jul 7, 2015 -> 02:31 AM) 23rd consecutive home game the White Sox have scored 4 runs or less. A team record. Viciedo for Melky please. Melky is only hitting .558 vs. Buehrle lifetime accordimg to our Chuck. The game definitely lived up to the hype. Not enough ks for Sale but I am sure he would rather have the win. Who said Melky for Viciedo? My suggestion was a platoon with LaRoche.
  4. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jul 7, 2015 -> 02:23 AM) And there was another major league game in town at the same time, and a big rivalry at that. And Raw
  5. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jul 7, 2015 -> 03:18 AM) Very disappointing number. But playoff atmosphere nonetheless. Crowd was great. Chance of rain didn't help
  6. Awesome win. Reminded me of the electricity in Franks first game back
  7. Nice to be on receiving end of Melky crushing Buehrle
  8. Why is Sanchez and his near .250 OPS vs LHP hitting here?
  9. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 7, 2015 -> 01:40 AM) Buehrle is so good it's scary. He's unbelievable. Most LHP will do this to this horrible lineup
  10. QUOTE (Condor13 @ Jul 7, 2015 -> 01:39 AM) Just from a baseball perspective, it would not shock me at all if Sale's agent asked/demanded a trade. He deserves to be on a major league baseball team. If this was the NBA, it could happen
  11. No hitter thru 6 for Lester against a Cardinals offense that forgot how to hit for the last week
  12. This team just can't hit for power vs LHP
  13. With this offense, Toronto really should go all in and trade for Cueto or Hamels or Samardzija
  14. Will the weather allow this game to be played tonight?
  15. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jul 6, 2015 -> 06:05 PM) Oakland is 2nd worst and have no place for Viciedo on the roster. That should tell you something right there That they wasted 3 years, 30 million on Billy Butler
  16. Looking at the LHP splits, they are shocking. Only 3 players on this team currently have an OPS vs LHP above .650 (Avi, Abreu and Soto). Melky, Eaton and Beckham are below .500 with Sanchez at a powerful .291.
  17. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jul 6, 2015 -> 05:59 PM) Come on now, you watched Viciedo just like I did. The last couple years were complete garbage, no steps forward, and actually he regressed against lefties(last year he was worse against lefties than righties). The cord needed to be cut Yes, but they never replaced any of his power on the bench to help vs LHP. The Sox have an OPS .046 lower vs LHP than anyone in baseball. Oakland is the 2nd worst AL team vs LHP, and they are nearly .100 points higher. Let's just say, it's a good thing the Sox never have to face Chris Sale
  18. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jul 6, 2015 -> 05:56 PM) I still have nightmares over this 4th inning at-bat against a soft-tossing LHP. It began the 2012 death march, and the Sox haven't been competitive since. http://www.baseball-reference.com/boxes/KC...201209190.shtml Me too, me too. Turning point of that season. Sad thing is he actually was great vs Chen in his career.
  19. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jul 6, 2015 -> 05:51 PM) Viciedo hurts your bench because in order to hit him against lefties you need to play another defender in his place after he hits. That is terrible strategy. Bonifacio at least plays multiple positions and you can play him after he hits(at least that was the theory) Even as the DH? But I agree about your Bonifacio in theory idea. I recall after he signed, they even talked about him being a DH against LHP sometimes. Unfortunately he forgot how to play baseball this year.
  20. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jul 6, 2015 -> 05:44 PM) lmao i love the Viciedo revisionist history here! I loved that one time that he totally misplayed a ground ball into a triple or inside the park homerun. Except it wasnt just one time. But i will forget all of those times because once, in between striking out 4 times swinging from his heels at whatever the pitcher threw, he hit a homerun off a lefty. .837 OPS in his career against LHP with some much needed power included in that. I don't think anyone on here wanted him back as a starter this year, but he would have been a more valuable bench piece/LHP platoon than Bonifacio has been (for similar cost).
  21. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 6, 2015 -> 04:39 PM) Still would be upgrade over Melky. or LaRoche with his 217/262/267 splits with no homers in 60 at bats vs LHP. His walk rate splits are insane, as he has 3 in 60 AB vs LHP and 36 in 191 AB vs RHP.
  22. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Jul 6, 2015 -> 05:35 PM) Lots of talk about Sale vs the Jays lineup, but the Sox have a .573 OPS vs LHP this season. Just forget for a moment Buehrle's past ties to the Sox. He's the exact prototype of the pitcher the Sox are least capable of hitting. I've said this for a while now, but the Sox miss Viciedo's bat vs LHP. He was pretty dangerous against soft-tossing LHP.

    2015 TV Thread

QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Jul 6, 2015 -> 01:34 PM) This season of True Detective just isn't working for me. I have found each episode incredibly boring. If the season wasn't only 8 episodes and if TV options weren't so limited during the summer I would be dropping it. If I didn't like the first season of True Detective, I would have stopped watching this season probably 30 minutes into the first episode. It seems like a challenge to watch this right now. I feel the opposite with The Last Ship, which is so much more enjoyable.
