  1. Or how about this....this morning around 8:30am, on the Score's update segment, they played a radio clip of Kris Bryant's amazing RBI single. Then, they get to the Sox game, and not a single audio highlight from the team's flagship station. Just seemed like another example of the hype that's taken over Chicago.
  2. QUOTE (Joshua Strong @ Apr 21, 2015 -> 07:40 PM) No. Didn't he start a game a few days ago? Today he was his scheduled start day (poor NC St fans)
  3. QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ Apr 21, 2015 -> 07:20 PM) Will we see Rodon today? My guess is absolutely yes
  4. Just saw this elsewhere, but kinda funny to see the Cubs lineup 3 years ago today: Cubs lineup, April 21, 2012: C: Clevenger 1B: LaHair 2B: Barney SS: Castro 3B: Stewart LF: DeWitt CF: Mather RF: DeJesus SP: Maholm

    New ownership

    Congrats...as your kid(s) get older, if you want them to like the White Sox, buy them White Sox lego figures. Bought my kids a Sale and Abreu lego, and they know who to root for. PS...I told my kids that the Cubs don't like Lego toys and puppies, so I think they know who to root for now
  6. Matthew Trueblood ‏@MATrueblood 56m56 minutes ago Addison Russell will become the youngest player in the NL this year when he takes the field tonight. By 15 months.
  7. QUOTE (PlaySumFnJurny @ Apr 21, 2015 -> 04:23 PM) This is a thing right now. http://espn.go.com/chicago/index?addata=1 Which team has the best infield in baseball? 69% Cubs 31% Other Discuss (Total votes: 1,523) Toronto and Detroit are better, with Colorado/Cincinnati being pretty good as well
  8. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 21, 2015 -> 04:40 PM) They still lack of lot of pitching. I would love for Dodgers or Yankees to sign David Price, as that way he'd stay away from the Tigers and Cubs.
  9. QUOTE (chw42 @ Apr 21, 2015 -> 03:22 PM) I wonder if Carrasco will rebound from getting hit in the face. You don't just get over those things after one week. The Royals would probably throw at Melky in consecutive games
  10. I know there are many that disagree with me on here, but there's really no excuse for the Cubs to not be one of the 5 best teams in baseball for the next decade. They've made some incredible trades the past few years (Samardzija and Feldman deals) while also leaving themselves a lot of payroll flexibility going forward. I'm still not sure why they didn't go after Scherzer instead of Lester though, but I'm happy they did.
  11. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 21, 2015 -> 03:17 PM) I am honestly surprised a deal with the Yankees wasn't done in the off season. It just made sense for both teams. Yep, instead the Tigers got Shane Greene out of it
  12. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 21, 2015 -> 04:09 PM) Except I'm not so sure that Soler doesn't end up the best of all of them, except for Bryant (since he's looking like he might stick at 3B). I forgot Soler was included as one of their prospects for their rankings. And yes, both Soler and Bryant have all the makings of MVP caliber players.
  13. I feel bad for all the NC St. fans that bought tickets for the Charlotte/Durham game today thinking Rodon would be pitching. However, I heard the stadium is full due to it being a school field trip day.
  14. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 21, 2015 -> 03:59 PM) Schwarber's lighting it up again this year, right? What about CJ Edwards? McKinney? P. Johnson (P)? Schwarber's off to a slow start. Edwards has been moved to relief and has been awful. P. Johnson is hurt, while McKinney is not doing anything special. They still have some ok prospect, but Bryant and Russell were clearly the potential superstars in their system that made them ranked #1.
  15. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 21, 2015 -> 04:03 PM) Except Castro's got a decent-sized contract already, so that's going to somewhat limit his return...but I'm sure there will be a decent-sized market there for him (off-the-field issues, notwithstanding), nevertheless. Castro has an incredibly team-friendly contract. 3 time all-star at age of 25 who's signed to the following: 2016 26 Chicago Cubs $7,857,143 2017 27 Chicago Cubs $9,857,143 2018 28 Chicago Cubs $10,857,143 2019 29 Chicago Cubs $11,857,14
  16. QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Apr 21, 2015 -> 06:33 AM) Rodon got called up and I saw NOTHING on MLB Network about it. Russell gets called up today, and it's the first segment I see when I flip on MLB Network and it's scrolling on the ticker as BREAKING NEWS. I always wished MLB Network would be able to stay away from the bias that ESPN is deep in to. The Cubs hype is unreal in Chicago right now. The Bryant stuff was out of control over the weekend.
  17. Russell getting promoted....just have to hope some of these guys flop
  18. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Apr 21, 2015 -> 03:55 AM) Listening on radio....Alexei couldn't score? Out by 50 feet
  19. Wow Alexei! Didn't know he could hit it that far still
  20. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Apr 21, 2015 -> 03:50 AM) Wow, he is, I had no idea. Every time I seem to notice a Red Sox box score, he has a big game. Me too!
