Melky hit line drives all year while batting lefty. Problem was for most of the season, he lacked the power to get his line drives to go over the head of outfielders.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Feb 29, 2016 -> 05:29 PM) I just want to go on record to say that San Andreas was one of the worst movies I have ever seen. It made my head hurt. Yep, and they're going to make a sequel out of it. Hard to make a bad movie with the cast they had...but they did.

I'm shocked that the Score is going off on Eaton for this....not.

I have a hard time imagining Ray slipping to 10, especially with some of the top starting pitchers struggling out of the gates.

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Feb 29, 2016 -> 06:44 PM) Think about this for a second, if Rollins makes the big league roster, he will get paid $2M. The Rangers are paying Ian $8. Split the difference and for $6M more (and of course a draft pick) the Sox could have had Ian. Please note, the expectation / hope from the front office perspective appears to be that Rollins will make the team. Now I don't know if Ian would have taken $8M to play with the Sox and remain at shortstop (or if we would have contemplated any scenario where we'd have signed him to play in the outfield). Everything seems to be coming back to the money factor with the Sox. It's either that or they have their remaining budget tied to a particular player they're interested in.

First thought looking at that lineup is....boy that team needs another starting outfielder

So there's an article in the Tribune about it and WGN talked about it today....

Dan Bernstein ‏@dan_bernstein 1m1 minute ago For all those asking, I have no reason to think @AdamSpankyEaton meant any genuine ill will at any point tonight. Be cool.

I'm sure the Score will try to make it into a big deal, as you have Rongey and Julie DiCaro commenting on it already.

He said this: AdamSpankyEaton: What does it always have to be about black and white...? #American

QUOTE (Brian @ Feb 29, 2016 -> 03:04 AM) So Groce stays? As someone that saw their favorite program suffer for six years cause they didn't fire Hewitt after he landed Favors....you should never let recruits impact your decision.

QUOTE (LDF @ Feb 29, 2016 -> 03:04 AM) for this discussion only, who do you think will be fired for lack of a better word??? RV - i think last yr he should have been fired, this yr, i have to wait and see how he handles the team Hahn - i think he has done a great job, given with what i imagine the limitation that he was given. some of the owners - maybe one of their sons or daughter can step in and take over as CEO. unless they do a total rebuild and sell off the players. i really like to get your opinion, to see if i am missing something. Hahn has yet to field a winning team...this version has to prove he can field a competitor. He hasn't done anything special with the farm system either. He's a great negotiator but has struggled with major league talent evaluation so far.

QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Feb 29, 2016 -> 02:46 AM) If Illinois loses to Minnesota at home with 4 of their top 7 scorers out, no way Groce survives. Groce stating Thorne could possibly get a redshirt for this season seems ludicrous. Absolutely no way should he be granted one.

QUOTE (Dunt @ Feb 29, 2016 -> 02:42 AM) I really don't see how the Sox aren't bringing in someone who can atleast backup in CF now that Eaton isn't playing in the field until the season starts Yep, shame on them if they think Shuck can be the replacement out there. Also a little perplexed at lack of platoon partner for LaRoche. Just hope Hahn has a plan cause the current projected roster makes no sense.

QUOTE (Thad Bosley @ Feb 29, 2016 -> 02:12 AM) Where does the buck stop when evaluating the continued lack of results of this team? If they fail again this year, there better be massive changes in this organization.

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Feb 28, 2016 -> 11:59 PM) Merkin doesn't think Jackson is in the plans. I believe Hayes has been saying that for a while.

QUOTE (LDF @ Feb 28, 2016 -> 05:29 PM) unless it is per the owners. He knew the budget going into the offseason. Simply no excuses to not finish the job this offseason. Thankfully I'm confident Gregor is wrong and there's one more move left.

QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Feb 28, 2016 -> 05:12 PM) Not that it really means anything, but Scott Gregor believes our roster is pretty much set. Would be simply inexcusable to have no backup CF and platoon partner for LaRoche. Hahn should absolutely be on the hot seat if that happens.

FWIW, Shuck played 83 innings in CF and was simply awful. He's not a realistic CF backup

1 year for 8 mil.....ugh! Would have been a great deal for the Sox a week ago.

QUOTE (staxx @ Feb 27, 2016 -> 08:49 PM) They more than likely have known this for a long period time. Throwing programs are very detailed and have set time periods for the entire duration. I'm not worried at all. Eaton even said he might DH some at start of the season. Hahn really needs someone that can play CF

OMG, what a stud

Curry is just incredible.

QUOTE (AustinIllini @ Feb 28, 2016 -> 02:27 AM) Ah, to have good team problems again. Cubs: "What if our franchise player gets bored?" White Sox: "Which has been or never will be is going to play second base?" You mean the same Brett Lawrie that looked like a can't miss superstar after his first season in the majors? He had a better first season than Schwarber and Russell.
