  1. QUOTE (flavum @ Mar 24, 2015 -> 09:43 PM) Definitely in the "Let's just get to opening day healthy" portion of spring training. No more injuries other than Sale. Agreed, and I would love to hear Cooper on the radio taking questions from the hosts about the pitching so far. It would make for great comedy.
  2. It will be interesting to see what happens with the bullpen. Seems like just about everyone has performed poorly out of the pen the last few weeks.
  3. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Mar 24, 2015 -> 09:36 PM) Melky having a nightmare inning. But I thought we were suppose to have the best defensive outfield in baseball this season Hawk? With Melky/Avi/Gillaspie/Johnson likely starting, it has the makings of a mediocre defense. Just have to hope those guys hit enough to overcome their defense.
  4. The pitching and defense continues to be awful. Sox have the highest ERA in the AL this spring.
  5. 3 Sox hitters have been hit by a pitch today.
  6. Bonifacio has been all sorts of awful in the field/at the plate so far this spring.
  7. QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ Mar 24, 2015 -> 12:10 AM) The real issue is terrible jumps and routes, IMO. Yep, his jumps are poor, which combined with his slow acceleration out of the gate results in significantly less range than you'd expect.
  8. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Mar 23, 2015 -> 11:46 PM) Hey look, Webb walked somebody. Now we need a WP. And there it is. He's been a massive disappointment based off of his 2013 numbers. Hopefully Albers can be a solid contributor, as this bullpen looks to be pretty thin.
  9. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Mar 23, 2015 -> 10:44 PM) I've got Hayes making a roster as well. I can't see him going pro. It's more likely he challenges for first team AA.
  10. 4 pitch walk for Webb...can't see how he makes the big league team
  11. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Mar 23, 2015 -> 10:36 PM) Pretty aggressive to rank a team that wasn't good enough for the NIT that high in Michigan. OSU is fully dependent on the incoming class. They will be playing big minutes. Also have Trevor Thompson now eligible. Wisconsin loses a ton. Three NBA players. Who's the 3rd besides Kaminsky and Dekker? If Michigan gets Jaylen Brown, then they'd definitely be #1.
  12. Good news is this spring has hopefully shown Montas he can't just throw 100 mph at this level without good command and be successful.
  13. Valentine's a junior, and I wouldn't be shocked if Melo Trimble goes pro. Without Melo, Maryland should be more in the 7-8 range.
  14. QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ Mar 23, 2015 -> 11:25 PM) Man, Ramon Castro would look pretty good on this roster. Non of the backup catchers can throw for s*** and Flowers aint not great shakes himself. It's really just a combination of crappy catchers with major deficiencies, it seems
  15. QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ Mar 23, 2015 -> 10:45 PM) Avi has a really s***ty arm. Really have to hope his defense is better this year. I was watching videos from all the games in April prior to his injury, as his horrible defense might have cost the Sox 3 different games they ended up losing.
  16. The lack of power from the likely starting 9 has been shocking so far this ST.
  17. BTW, nice of the White Sox to tweet Samardzija's tourney bracket that shows what the entry fee was. I'm sure he'll be banned from baseball for life. http://www.cbssports.com/mlb/eye-on-baseball/25117024
  18. QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Mar 23, 2015 -> 03:28 AM) Other than the early games on Thursday (which I didn't even get to watch) I thought it was a really boring first weekend of games in general. It's been an accurate representation of the entire season. Awful offenses, bad refs and a lack of star players.
  19. This Friday/Sunday combo of games have been awful.
  20. QUOTE (greg775 @ Mar 22, 2015 -> 06:03 AM) I know it's a cliche, but Notre Dame really wanted it today in a game against an equally fiery Butler team. We will find out Sunday how much Kansas wants it. Will their sometimes zombielike turnover prone team play balls out basketball as Butler and ND did? We shall see. From what I've seen, ND is a FAR superior team over Kansas. Just cause it was a close game doesn't mean both teams played well. Butler didn't make a jump shot past the FT line until 16 minutes was left in the game. Neither team scored in the last three minutes of regulation, including Butler missing the rim on their last three shots.
  21. They match up well vs Kansas, but Kansas is still a much tougher out than WSU.
  22. I will give ND credit for being far and away the most clutch team in college basketball this year. They have made an insane amount of "onions" shots
  23. Butler definitely had their chances. Dunham played an awful game for Butler.
  24. D. Jackson gets away with murder on defense. He would be a great fit on Purdue
