  1. QUOTE (flavum @ Jul 10, 2013 -> 11:50 PM) Can't believe that AB ended in a K. Axelrod/Flowers..a battery coming to your Independent League team in 2015
  2. QUOTE (Baron @ Jul 11, 2013 -> 12:48 AM) You think he is going to trade Peavy,Danks,Santiago ect ect? Peavy sure there is about a 50/50 chance it happens. I'm going with no on that one. Sounds like he is going with the option that is the most reasonable. Trade some guys in the bullpen...maybe Rios or Peavy. Rebuild the offense in the offseason. Not a doubt in my mind he'll trade Peavy if he's healthy enough to start a few times before July.
  3. 25 ER over last 24.1 innings for Axelrod with 11 homers
  4. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jul 11, 2013 -> 12:42 AM) It appears Axe's fairy dust has finally worn off. For his talent, he did provide the Sox with several good outings. I agree with this
  5. QUOTE (Baron @ Jul 10, 2013 -> 11:42 PM) I absolutely believe him when he talks about keeping pitching and working on the offense this offseason. Did anyone actually believe he was going to completely blow it up? I do believe he'll blow it up and would gladly trade everyone but Sale. Where's this confidence coming that he's not going to trade Peavy, etc?
  6. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jul 10, 2013 -> 11:41 PM) Axelrod is awful. We're shocked
  7. Axelrod on his way to being in the bottom 3 in the AL in ERA, BAA and WHIP. In other words, he's overmatched as a starter in the AL.
  8. QUOTE (Baron @ Jul 11, 2013 -> 12:38 AM) Hahn mentioned him actually as part of our potential rotation for next year with Santiago,Peavy and Sale Axelrod or Johnson?
  9. QUOTE (Baron @ Jul 11, 2013 -> 12:21 AM) Axelrod still throwing meatballs....what a surprise One of the worst starters in the AL. Hopefully he's out of the rotation as soon as E. Johnson is healthy.
  10. Maybe the Sox look at Sale's record and realize he doesn't have TWTW
  11. QUOTE (flavum @ Jul 10, 2013 -> 10:06 PM) He won't get traded. Never going to happen. It really would have to be a package that's too good to turn down (ie: Profar, Perez and Martin or Taveras, Martinez, Wong, Rosenthal). Neither team would do something like that though.
  12. QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ Jul 10, 2013 -> 09:04 PM) This only makes sense if: 1) The Sox want to do a long-term rebuild like the Cubs or Astros, and it is the precursor to dumping off literally everyone else worth anything 2) You get multiple ML ready position players and then decide to keep Peavy and Rios and compete next year 3) You think there's no way he stays healthy for the length of his contract
  13. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Jul 10, 2013 -> 09:34 PM) I think Ellsbury ends up in Seattle. 6 years $100 million. Cubs and Mariners in a battle for Ellsbury, with the other one getting Choo
  14. I could see the Sox interested in Brandon Workman. He was someone they were linked with when he was available in the draft.

    QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jul 10, 2013 -> 07:56 PM) You say it sarcastically but it wouldn't surprise me if this was the truth. Agreed

    caulfield, you must be watching/listening to different things than me, as just about everyone I've heard doesn't think Puig should make it.
  17. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jul 10, 2013 -> 04:37 AM) If he's already throwing from 45 feet, I'd say he's on pace for about 10 days from now. It just gets scary when they start mentioning possibly visiting the doctor that previously performed the surgery.
  18. QUOTE (Noonskadoodle @ Jul 10, 2013 -> 04:14 AM) He hit 91 a couple times. The 88-89 from whoever was overreacting. Here's his velocity on his fastball tonight: 87 87 87 88 90 90 89
  19. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 9, 2013 -> 10:22 PM) Dan Hayes ‏@DanHayesCSN 34s Jesse Crain said he played catch at 40-50 feet today. Went as he expected. Was first time he'd thrown in a week. #WhiteSox I'll be pleasantly surprised if he's available in the next 3 weeks. http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/baseb...0,5835542.story
  20. Pirates offense really struggling for 4th straight game. Time to ask for the moon from them for Rios.
  21. Man, Castro's velocity is way lower than expected. In the 87-88 mph range with way too many hangers. It's easy to tell why he's struggled so much in the minors.
  22. Please put Wells in for Rios defensively
  23. Is that 14 hits in the last 2 innings?
  24. 6 hits for Rios would be pretty cool
  25. Phegley has a lot of work to do on his receiving skills
