QUOTE (bucket-of-suck @ Sep 27, 2012 -> 01:32 AM) What the hell are these AAA pitchers doing in the middle of a key pennant race game?!?! It's insane, it really is. Remember when he was supposed to throw like 98 mph in the minors? He's like 5 mph less than that now.

QUOTE (Jake @ Sep 27, 2012 -> 01:31 AM) I wanted to leave Hector in, honestly Should have got one more batter. He got screwed by pitch selection more than anything else this inning. He never throws his offspeed pitches for strikes, yet they were calling for it on 3-2 pitches.

Kipnis literally has an OPS that's .200 points higher against righties.

Nice one Robin. Absolutely inexcusable pitching move there. Ventura has choked more than anyone on this team down the stretch. Not only did he not play the match up, but he brought in maybe the worst righty in our pen.

Just awful pitch selection this inning. Wait, Omogrosso coming in to face Kipnis, who is significantly better against righties than lefties?

Why in the hell would you throw the screwball in that situation when you've had no command of it all season? Got to get someone up in the pen.

QUOTE (bucket-of-suck @ Sep 27, 2012 -> 12:59 AM) The screwball is ridiculous not moving at all where it should. Been that way pretty much all year. Still think he should forget about that and learn a regular change-up

Alexei continues to fly open at the plate, making him a very easy out. Lefties looking really good against Masterson so far.

Perez has killed the Sox simply due to feasting on LHP. Tigers don't really have any, and that's why he hasn't done much.

Tigers pitchers seem to never give up homers anymore.

2-0 going into the 9th. KC's pitching performed well enough for the Royals to win.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Sep 26, 2012 -> 01:37 AM) Anibal Sanchez >>> Francisco Liriano Well yeah, but the Tigers gave up a ton more than the Sox did to get Sanchez (and Infante)

2 on for Butler, and he strikes out on, get this, an offspeed pitch in the dirt.

Chicago White Sox vs. Cleveland Indians
Crazy that on a day that Gordon Beckham's defense cost the Sox 3 runs, Miguel Cabrera and his leaping ability saved the Tigers 2 runs.

QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 25, 2012 -> 09:17 PM) It's tough to sweep a team at night then in a matinee. We should have played it at night. Sad. Enough with the freaking excuses. Once again, the offense failed to do much of anything at the plate. Liriano continued his terrible season against a lineup he should have had no problem with. I don't care if the game started at 8AM, 1PM or 7 PM...the team is playing way too tight.

Perez is much better against lefties than righties. Ventura managed this game well. This is all on the Liriano pitching awful and the offense continuing to be allergic to stringing together numerous hits in an inning.
