  1. QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Jun 16, 2012 -> 06:15 AM) [/b] Experiencing more soreness today and going to see the team's doctor. Someone needs to make a thread. They did an MRI previously and it was clean, right? I'll be surprised if we see him back before the ASB.
  2. QUOTE (Jake @ Jun 16, 2012 -> 05:12 AM) Soxtalk reaching new heights, now calling games before they start instead of just after a few innings With the way Rios and Dunn are swinging, all it takes is a few runners on base before they get up and the Sox can beat anyone.
  3. QUOTE (Knackattack @ Jun 16, 2012 -> 06:11 AM) GORDON! If anyone is following the game via the game thread, you probably just got their hopes up
  4. Not even close to being a strike. What a terrible loss all around.
  5. QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Jun 16, 2012 -> 05:06 AM) Thanks for nothing EE. That double switch made no sense, as it's not like Thornton was going to throw 2 innings. It made it so you couldn't use Viciedo or Danks.
  6. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 16, 2012 -> 05:02 AM) I'm just ready to turn the page with AJ and Thornton and go with younger players. It's going to suck to watch Flowers and Phegley struggle, but at least they'll hustle and not take every day in the majors for granted. Yeah, AJ's been great offensively, but you just know that won't continue and then KW will end up overpaying or extending his contract again and he'll be bad again and rebuilding will never occur with this team. Seriously? Those guys aren't major leaguers.
  7. QUOTE (TaylorStSox @ Jun 16, 2012 -> 05:00 AM) AJ might be the laziest ballplayer I've ever seen. I mean that. God, I hate him. You hate AJ? Hard to hate AJ as a Sox fan. I do think that him and Konerko have been extremely lackadaisical of late
  8. QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Jun 16, 2012 -> 05:59 AM) He didn't know where the ball was, how can you blame him? He tried to backhand the pitch instead of block it with his chest.
  9. Oh AJ, just lazy as hell behind the plate of late. No effort to block that.
  10. QUOTE (Baron @ Jun 16, 2012 -> 05:57 AM) We need to put him on waivers. No one would pick him up. Funny thing is I'm sure you're making fun of marty, but if someone was willing to take his remaining contract off our books, then I'm not so sure you don't let them.
  11. QUOTE (Jake @ Jun 16, 2012 -> 05:54 AM) I'll be a typical Soxtalker and blame Escobar for this Yep, same type of play
  12. QUOTE (Baron @ Jun 16, 2012 -> 04:48 AM) Hudson just got removed for a defensive replacement. Double switch, I assume. Only problem is you have to have Escobar lead off in the 9th
  13. QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Jun 16, 2012 -> 04:46 AM) We got PH + top of the order coming up in the 9th. Gotta keep em here, and win this game next inning. No extras. Kenley Jansen has allowed runs in 3 of his last 4 outings
  14. QUOTE (Jake @ Jun 16, 2012 -> 05:43 AM) He has been MUCH better than Brent Morel was in every way. It may turn out to be just a bench acquisition, but I can't say it's a bad move It's been an awful move. His defense has killed the team in the short time he's been over there.
  15. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 16, 2012 -> 05:41 AM) No offense to Hudson, who won us one game, but he's another KW fail. I mean he's not getting it done. Bad acquisition. How many bad decisions does KW make compared to his good ones????
  16. RIOS! Mercy he is hitting the ball hard.
  17. QUOTE (Knackattack @ Jun 16, 2012 -> 05:38 AM) But they could get you something. If they're serious about contending they need, at least, a 3rd baseman. They're fielding 8 guys out there daily. Put a guy on the hot corner that can OPS .750 and catch the damn ball, and this club can do something. Only 10 3B in the majors have an OPS over .750
  18. I'm not so sure any of the guys you mentioned would be in the top 250 prospects in baseball.
  19. If you trade for a starting pitcher because you've given up on Floyd and Humber, then you better make sure that player has at least another year left on their deal. If not, you're looking at Sale, Danks, Quintana and nothing in the rotation next year.
  20. QUOTE (Knackattack @ Jun 16, 2012 -> 05:32 AM) Mitchell, Danks, Petricka, Castro and Molina all gotta have some kind of value I'd imagine. Compared to what probably every other contending team has to offer, you're not going to win any bidding wars with the guys you mentioned.
  21. QUOTE (Baron @ Jun 16, 2012 -> 05:31 AM) They have money to spend(offered Soler 25 million). JR would be willing to spend if it was for a player that will help this team. Paying 25 million over 9 years is a heck of a lot different than having to cover the remaining 8 million or so on a deal this year.
  22. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 16, 2012 -> 05:29 AM) Now Konerko not being able to score from 1st on Rios' double and DeAza leaving the runner at 3B with one out....some more big plays in this game. Sale's walking Hairston 3 times, Hudson's inability to react quickly enough at 3B. Flaws all over the field for this team. No chance Konerko could score on Rios' double. Not so sure even ADA scores on that, as it was a rocket and went right to their CF. Plain and simple, if Hudson doesn't play Uribe's grounder like Roger Dorn, the Sox likely cruise to victory.
  23. QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Jun 16, 2012 -> 05:28 AM) THIS! Enjoy first place and see what happens closer to deadline. And the question is, who on the Sox (of their prospects) even has trade value? Sox best bet to get a big time player via trade is if they pick up the remaining salary.
  24. QUOTE (Baron @ Jun 16, 2012 -> 05:24 AM) I laugh at some of the people on here who just want to ride it out with Humber and Floyd. See what happens. We wont be in 1st very long with the way those guys are pitching. Those two are almost automatic losses at this point. Thing is, Sox just don't have the resources for a massive overhaul right now. If Floyd, Humber and Danks continue to have just ridiculously bad seasons, then you don't deserve to make the postseason. With Sale having an innings limit, I'd much rather KW wait until the deadline before making any decision. One big slump and this team could be in 4th place, and then you're looking at a whole different scenario at the deadline.
