Maybe Sale has too much adrenaline going for this match-up.
Normally, he has been more effective ranging his fastball from 89-94 in the early innings, then dialing it up into the mid 90's whenever needed.
He's rolling that slider right now

I was responding to the poster who said he went to a party and everybody there thought the Sox were way under .500 and sucking.
We're not in the news. Only we diehards know how the team is doing.
Greg, you don't live in Chicago, so how would you know what the Chicago media is covering? Also, MLB Network had a very long segment on Chris Sale tonight.
In 7 of next 8 games (Kershaw, Billingsley, Capuano, Garza, Dempster, Gallardo, Greinke), Sox face really good starting pitchers. Offense has to get going immediately
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jun 15, 2012 -> 02:48 AM)
You would think he'd have it going by now. This far into the season and total garbage offensively is cause for concern. Not only isn't he hitting, his walk rate is at an all time low.
It's strange to me that he hasn't been benched a few more times to give him a breather. He's been a joke offensively this season.

Sometimes he's just using that tennis volley swing too often
And I would say sometimes Rios needs to try and pull the ball more as well. He seemed to get more aggressive at the Cell a few weeks ago, and he had some good power success.
QUOTE (iamshack @ Jun 15, 2012 -> 03:38 AM)
Momentum or not, does he not know the situation? Sometimes I wish he would try to pull something hard to left like the old PK.
Prior to the wrist injury, he was just crushing the ball to left field with authority. Since he missed a few days, he seems to be pushing the bat and struggling to lift anything in the air with authority.
The obvious solution to get the White Sox back on track is to have Stoney go on vacation, bring back Paciorek and also invite Beckham's parents to every game.

It gets easier for us next week. Cubs and Brewers.
Sucks we face Greinke and Gallardo instead of guys like Fiers
QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Jun 15, 2012 -> 02:17 AM)
We've got a tougher interleague stretch than Detroit or Cleveland this week
Absolutely, I'd gladly accept being 1.5 games up over the Indians after this week. However, Tigers have a good chance to get within 2 or 3. Tigers just seem like such a different team with a healthy Austin Jackson.

A flat, lifeless fastball will do that.
At least Sergio Santos has been on the DL most of the season.
My question is how in the world did Molina dominate as much as he did last year if his fastball is so mediocre? I would love for someone to analyze his stuff from last year and this year by someone who's seen him both years.
