7/6 - Los Angeles vs. Chicago
QUOTE (iamshack @ Jul 7, 2010 -> 04:14 AM) 2-5 weeks is fine. 10 minutes ago, you were telling us 2012. yes, when I thought it was his elbow. Give me some credit, I said after watching the replay again, I thought there was a slight chance it was his side.

QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 7, 2010 -> 04:14 AM) I'm glad glad it's not his arm, but isn't he ticketed to sit a long time? Will you be surprised to see Jake again this year? I'd be shocked not to see him again

Wow, Andruw had a pitch right there to drill on that Weaver pitch.

QUOTE (iamshack @ Jul 7, 2010 -> 04:10 AM) Are you serious, Dr Fathom? That muscle for a pitcher, if he strained it, will be difficult for him to pitch until it heals. Likely 2-5 week recovery time, and that's coming from a doctor!

So you'd have to assume they'll DL Peavy, and promote Hudson. Hudson will pitch on Sunday, and then the other 4 starters will go in the Minnesota series?

QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Jul 7, 2010 -> 04:08 AM) Right lat muscle on Peavy. that's fantastic, if true. Not easy to recover from that, but it won't require surgery.

Peavy Done for Year; Marquez Up
QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Jul 7, 2010 -> 03:07 AM) You have no way of knowing this. I understand you're trying to look on the bright side, but Peavy easily could have known immediately that he tore a ligament or tendon. Exactly, as Stone said, a veteran pitcher knows the difference between soreness and injury.

QUOTE (iamshack @ Jul 7, 2010 -> 04:03 AM) Damn tigers won That 1-2-3-4-5 of theirs is just nasty

Rios looks much better tonight than he has in a while.

7/6 - Los Angeles vs. Chicago
QUOTE (iamshack @ Jul 7, 2010 -> 03:02 AM) You are in rare form tonight, my friend... Thankfully the Angels are playing the dumbest baseball we've seen all season.

Peavy Done for Year; Marquez Up
QUOTE (bucket-of-suck @ Jul 7, 2010 -> 03:01 AM) "Very real possibility?" BS. There are at least other 3 teams in on a Lee deal. The Twins in no way have any kind of inside track there. The Twins suck and have sucked under .500 for 2 months now. Mariners love Ramos...we need Yankees to offer up Montero.

Peavy Done for Year; Marquez Up
Brewers might be trading Hart for Sanchez (Giants), so that would likely take Prince off the market...even though I don't think he even is.

QUOTE (iamshack @ Jul 7, 2010 -> 03:58 AM) Please don't even speculate. You're not a doctor; you are completely shooting the dark. Next thing you know Peavy has a biceps tear and I read it at sox talk.com If he tore his bicep, he would be holding his arm. It's a disgusting injury.

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jul 7, 2010 -> 02:57 AM) fathom is playing this role tonight based on his many "the world is ending" posts Let's wait for some postgame info. Do you hear Hawk's voice right now?

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jul 7, 2010 -> 02:57 AM) Why exactly did we not keep Carrasco? We had to use that extra money for Kotsay, Andruw Jones, etc.

QUOTE (jphat007 @ Jul 7, 2010 -> 02:56 AM) Tony Pena sucks so badly. They're just going to leave him out there to die. It sucks Peavy got hurt, but you still have to manage to win and not just eat innings.

7/6 - Los Angeles vs. Chicago
Holy cow, Pena is terrible. PULL HIM!

QUOTE (asmithxc @ Jul 7, 2010 -> 02:54 AM) You can hear a "pop" with any injury involving a muscle, tendon, or ligament. The pop doesn't really narrow it down too much. Agreed, Quentin heard a pop with his heel last season.

QUOTE (TitoMB @ Jul 7, 2010 -> 02:55 AM) Like who? Dean Palmer is first one that comes to mind.

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jul 7, 2010 -> 02:54 AM) Or an Oswalt/Berkman package. Astros want teams to pick up all of Oswalt's salary, as well as 3 MLB ready players in return.

7/6 - Los Angeles vs. Chicago
QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jul 7, 2010 -> 02:53 AM) Time to get Cliff Lee. This team needs offensive upgrades a lot more than we need an upgrade from Daniel Hudson.

Get someone up in the pen, let's not just give this game away!

If it's a biceps tear, Jake has some explaining to do. The only baseball players I've seen have that happen in recent years were notorious PEDs users. I doubt it's this though.

Wonder how long they'll let Pena go? Our bullpen should be pretty well-rested. Gotta go for the win tonight, and then let Garcia go long tomorrow.
