Better swing by Beckham on the 2-0 pitch.

QUOTE (jphat007 @ May 5, 2010 -> 02:00 AM) Bam. I posted the same time as you! And don't give me that s***. I've been sitting here rooting for this team for a long time. And been positive (overly so, ask fathom) for a long time. But I'm not gonna sit here and act like everything is cool and good when it obviously is not. jphat in 2005 would b**** every single time a line drive was hit by the Sox at the defender. He would say every time "we can't catch a break".

Let's get a cheap hit and a homer

QUOTE (jphat007 @ May 5, 2010 -> 01:53 AM) Well, now we know why Floyd signed that contract. Gavin's fine, I'm honestly not worried. Give it a month, he'll be better than Danks.
-
Wow, hell of a play by Konerko. I think he was safe at home.
-
QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ May 5, 2010 -> 01:53 AM) Based on what, 22 games at AA. Lets let Morel mature a bit before we promote him. He looked awful in ST, as if he was overmatched by MLB players.
-
QUOTE (Thad Bosley @ May 5, 2010 -> 01:49 AM) I can think of a million places other than USCF that I'd like him to be as well. This is one lousy player we have on our hands right now. Really not sure what options they have. It's becoming obvious that he can't play 3rd base. Gavin just can't get MLB hitters out unless he has his good curve.
-
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 5, 2010 -> 12:47 AM) Teahen looks so stiff to me. He also looks like a guy who would rather be in a million places other than USCF right now. Chances he's another acquisition that gets unloaded after the season because he didn't fit it?
-
Teahen not doing himself any favors with the crowd by the lack of hustle. Be better if he didn't miss that pitch by 2 feet. He needs a few games off, he's back to first week Teahen again.

QUOTE (kapkomet @ May 5, 2010 -> 01:42 AM) Really? The frequency of posts are in direct relation as to the suckage of the Sox, but carry on. Yeah, no. I completely disagree. I'm posting a lot in the game threads, win or lose. I was at the game last night, so sure I wasn't on when they were playing well last night.
-
QUOTE (kapkomet @ May 5, 2010 -> 12:38 AM) And the leading posters in this thread tonight, jphat and fathom. We know how this game's going. Huh, I just got home like 5 minutes ago and have 2 posts on this entire game. Thanks kap, but I'm here every f***ing game.
-
BTW, lefties are hitting like .360 against Floyd this season. Does he even throw that solid change he threw last season anymore?
-
DJ and Farmer were ripping Juan Pierre in the bottom of the 1st. Said it's incredibly stupid to be running on the 3-0 pitch. I love how he tried to steal on that play, but we didn't run on the 3-2 pitch with Jones up.

QUOTE (Brian @ May 3, 2010 -> 02:09 AM) I watched FNL on DirecTV this past fall and will re-watch it on this run. It was great. Yep, the new main character is awesome.

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ May 4, 2010 -> 11:43 PM) Bad writing = dead show. I made it through two episodes. The last month it was awesome, far superior to the crap on Lost this season.
-
QUOTE (Princess Dye @ May 4, 2010 -> 11:27 PM) Kaplan and Phil Rogers arguing fervently on CTL. I cant decide which guy is dumber. I despise David Kaplan. I hate him more than Mariotti.

Mordecai's double that inning is just a great piece of hitting, and a fantastic memory in my life. I remember Ozzie going nuts in the dugout.

QUOTE (Kenny Hates Prospects @ May 4, 2010 -> 09:35 PM) BTW, I for one don't think we're doomed at all. I think we have a very good team overall that could do some serious damage in the playoffs if we get there, but the problem is getting there. There are a couple players I will not mention because I've b****ed about them since they came here, but I genuinely believe that if we get a big bat to break up the righties in the middle and push one of these crappy players out of the picture, we will be able to kick some serious ass. So that's what I want to see. I do not in any way see our current situation as a fire sale situation. Paulie and Jones have their resurgences along with Rios being Rios just makes me that much more confident that if we make the right moves early we'll have a shot at getting to the playoffs. You brought up a great point. Adding a big bat not only makes the offense better, but it also eliminates someone who currently makes the offense worse. At the game last night, you couldn't help but feel hopeless whenever Pierre, Kotsay, or Teahen were up.

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ May 4, 2010 -> 09:22 PM) And btw, I know the Hawks played last night but what a terrible showing of fans last night given that it was half price Monday and the weather was immaculate. But I guess it's to be expected with the way the team has played. Half the people there were young kids who have Bieber Fever. It was supposed to rain yesterday, FWIW. I was impressed by the fans there who were extremely harsh relating to Pierre and Linebrink.

Didn't the actor who played Eko get a DUI, and that was the beginning of the end for him?

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ May 4, 2010 -> 07:51 PM) I'll always remember the 2 plays Buehrle made to end the clinching game of the world series. Two plays where I feel he might have been the only SS in the game that could have made both of those plays. Well of course everyone remembers those!! If D. Jeter made the catch that he did in the 9th inning, we would have never seen the end of it. I still don't think I've ever been as angry in my life as when Ozzie let Hermanson pitch in Game 3 in the 8th inning. Probably lost 8 years of my life that night...but it was worth it! I want to punch everyone that says they are a Sox fan and went to bed before that game was over.
-
QUOTE (witesoxfan @ May 4, 2010 -> 08:25 PM) Aside from winning the World Series, that and Podsednik's homer are 1a and 1b. Blum's homer didn't actually win it within the moment, and I was on such a roller coaster of emotion (especially after Konerko had just GIDP'd) that I couldn't appreciate Blum's homer to the fullest. Haha, I remember that great play by Ensberg to turn the double play. Another forgotten moment from that game was Uribe absolutely butchering what should have been the final out, which resulted in Buehrle coming in for the save.
-
At least there's been no hip issues. If this is his last season here, and I think it will be, I hope he goes out with a great season. I'll always remember his GS in Game 2 of the WS. Best sports moment of my life.
-
QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ May 4, 2010 -> 03:33 PM) He was still opening up, but it was less so. He still swung through a couple flat out meatballs. I think he's making progress, but he's still not there yet. Yep, he hasn't shown any ability this year to get on top of the high pitch. He did a good job of this last year, and was able to hit the ball to right field. This year, he's just whiffing on that pitch.
-
Something that gets overlooked is that 3rd base is a very important position when Buehrle is on the mound.
