  1. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Sep 1, 2009 -> 01:34 AM) any word on the x-ray? It was a bone scan, X-ray, and MRI. Doesn't sound promising, as they are waiting until after the game to announce results and Peavy will answer questions.
  2. Just get this game over with quickly and get to the Peavy news.
  3. KW would do this organization a huge favor if he can unload Konerko's contract on someone.
  4. QUOTE (Brian @ Sep 1, 2009 -> 12:17 AM) Oh, thought it was just an X-ray Nope, Bruce Levine said they did an MRI also. At this point, best case scenario is it's a bone bruise that forces him to be shut down the rest of the year.
  5. QUOTE (Brian @ Sep 1, 2009 -> 12:13 AM) If it was ligament damage, they would probably do an MRI, wouldn't they? That is my experience with my knees and back. It was an MRI they did, and that's why this is so f'n scary.
  6. I can't remember the last time Beckham squared a ball up. It seems like this game doesn't even matter tonight, and the only thing to worry about is the Peavy news after the game (which doesn't sound promising at all).
  7. QUOTE (winninguglyin83 @ Sep 1, 2009 -> 01:08 AM) if peavy has a elbow problem that requires surgery that would be the worst scenario in many many years. Couldn't agree more
  8. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Aug 31, 2009 -> 10:48 PM) They are going to announce the results of Peavy's x rays after the game. It would seem to me if there was nothing wrong, it would be announced right away. I hope I'm wrong. Peavy will comment after the results are released. Please, please be due to the line drive and not due to ligament damage.
  9. I never said I thought KW should be fired. All I'm saying is that with all the moves he's made since last season started, he got very little on the field this year to show for them. I'm well aware that Ozzie and KW aren't going anywhere. That's why it would be great if Walker and Cox are let go and see if that can help improve upon some of the major issues we see year in and year out.
  10. QUOTE (T R U @ Aug 30, 2009 -> 10:51 PM) I agree with Fathom For a team that was coming off a division title with expectations to do it again trading a starting OF and SP and getting nothing in return to help your MLB team was not very good. And yes, im aware we cleared salary and got prospects. And it's not like we're just second guessing the trades now. When they were made, we all were wondering what would be done to help the 2009 big league team. We know where the money went now, but the big league squad had to suffer for a few months with just a terrible roster.
  11. QUOTE (knightni @ Aug 30, 2009 -> 11:48 PM) Schadenfreude doesn't become you fathom. I had to look up what this means, and it's so bogus for you to say that. Hell, I've been on here less in the last week than probably the past 5 seasons because I've been so disgusted by the performance on and off the field and didn't come on here to state the obvious. I absolutely think members of the coaching staff should lose their job for just terrible baseball being played, but I'm not about to start numerous threads on that, etc.
  12. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 30, 2009 -> 10:38 PM) Oh come on, really? That's your explanation for this? The Swisher and Vazquez trades? Would we be legitimately better if we hadn't dealt those 2 guys? Yes we would have been better off if we kept those guys. Our lack of major league depth at the beginning of the year saw some just hideous lineups. The Swisher trade was a debacle, and unless Flowers ends up being a decent player, the Javy trade was poor as well. It is fun seeing how many errors Jon Gilmore can make on a given day though, I will admit that.
  13. QUOTE (SoxFan562004 @ Aug 30, 2009 -> 11:32 PM) Is there any word on his elbow problem yesterday being new or due to the line drive he took off of it? Bad news, as it doesn't sound related to the line drive. It's unbelievably stupid that they just don't shut him down, regardless of what the tests show tomorrow. If he has a major injury to his elbow, well...I don't want to even think of that. http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/baseb...0,2723960.story
  14. Kenny Williams set the tone by trading Nick Swisher and Javy Vazquez for zero contributors to the 2009 big league team.
  15. QUOTE (b-Rye @ Aug 30, 2009 -> 08:43 PM) Nick Masset: 2.81 ERA 57.2 IP Mike Macdougal: 1.98 ERA 36 IP David Aardsma: 2.26 ERA 31 Saves I would like them back. Cooper did a terrible job with MacDougal. The Washington pitching coach has told him to throw 90 pct fastballs compared to sliders, and his heater is up to 97 mph now. Same goes with Aardsma, who throws 3 mph faster now than he did with the Sox.
  16. KW really doesn't have a lot to show right now for his moves the last two years.
  17. Ugh, it's so frustrating we tanked after the trade deadline. We could have gotten rid of Dye and Dotel.
  18. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Aug 30, 2009 -> 07:50 PM) They have either quit, or the entire offense has hit a slump at the same time. And I don't believe in coincidences like that. I think you mentioned this the other day, but this team has quit. Any other manager would be on the hot seat. Hell, 2007 might have been more entertaining than this season. We still don't have a walkoff homer this year.
  19. This Mets team is so unbelievably bad. The Cubs have an extremely easy schedule the next two weeks, so look for them to get back into the mix for the Wild Card.
  20. I just wish one person would say if the elbow issue for Peavy is related to getting hit by the line drive.
  21. QUOTE (ottawa_sox @ Aug 30, 2009 -> 01:56 AM) As if today wasn't bad enough already, what with the Sox stinking out Yankee Stadium. Now we get to add Peavy leaving the game after 3 1/3 with an apparent injury Elbow tightness...what a disaster
  22. Peavy with tightness near his elbow. If this isn't related to getting hit by the line drive, then someone in the Sox organization needs to lose their job. There's no reason at all for him to be pitching right now unless he's 100 percent. It's just baffling how awful our trades have been this year with regards to on the field productivity.
  23. Another spirited performance tonight. This team is brutal and worse yet, boring as hell to watch.
  24. Rios swing is just so ugly. Between him and Dye, you have two guys swinging with no confidence.
