  1. QUOTE (Capn12 @ Jul 19, 2009 -> 07:28 PM) Seriously though.....about 4 batters ago would be a great time to change pitchers.... You know Ozzie always tries to get the starter past the 5th to try and get them a win. Jose has just become a huge question mark for the 2nd half, IMO.
  2. And a HBP. Awful, he better get taken out of this game.
  3. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jul 19, 2009 -> 08:27 PM) Who, Contreras or Castro? Heh. Maybe this will finally convince Ozzie to use Castro against LHP and actually to utilize his best attribute.
  4. Where does this rank among the all-time worst defensive performances by a catcher in a game? Matt LeCroy might lose his top spot.
  5. PULL HIM NOW! Wild pitch allows another run. This is a very troubling start for Contreras and raises some huge red flags.
  6. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jul 19, 2009 -> 08:24 PM) I could see a grand slam here. Kinda feel like the flood gates could break. Indeed...he's been falling behind and making so many bad pitches, it's just a matter of time.
  7. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Jul 19, 2009 -> 08:24 PM) Would BA have had a better shot at that? Sinking drive to center. Nah
  8. Jeez, this is really awful by Contreras. He can't throw his forkball, so he has really no out pitch against these guys.
  9. Umpire is really squeezing Jose now. Ozzie better get someone up in the pen, as Jose clearly has nothing today. He needs to limit the damage here.
  10. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Jul 19, 2009 -> 07:17 PM) Really, Fathom? Do we have to call out a post on a message board? I'm posting my thoughts, do I have to appeal to the wider audience? I mean, I try to do that as often as possible, but I'm working on impulse and reaction here. I'm just saying that the games I can't watch and have to follow the action on here, if I saw someone say it was crushed with no other details, I'd figure it was a homer. Sorry, don't take it personal...more of a PSA to everyone.
  11. Tough inning coming up for Contreras.
  12. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Jul 19, 2009 -> 08:13 PM) Ooh, Big Jim on the 3-0. Crushed. If I wasn't watching this game, I'd be very annoyed by this post.
  13. Thome just missed a home run. Nice to see him get the 3-0 green light.
  14. Tigers up 1-0 in the 4th. Cy Edwin on the mound for Tigers.
  15. Wow, we've fortunately got to face Izturis in tough spots today.
  16. Jose just has nothing today. Every forkball looks like a hanging curve.
  17. That noise you hear is Josh Fields cringing. Castro's not having a very good day.
  18. Holy cow, Wise just murdered that!
  19. Nicely done by Alexei on the DP. Get us started Gordon.
  20. Damn, this is Jose pre-minor league stint. No control, no forkball, and throwing a ton of pitches to every hitter.
  21. Um, he was clearly out at 2nd on a terrible slide.
  22. Even with this ump having a huge zone on the corners, Jose's control is really off today. He was the one pitcher that I was concerned about the All-Star Break throwing off their rhythm.
  23. Mock went 3 1/3 innings and allowed 10 base runners. His WHIP is near 2.05 now. Thanks for nothing Nationals!
  24. The team is flat as hell so far today. Baltimore isn't done scoring, so might be nice to get something going and not wait for their first baseman to drop a ball today.
  25. If there's even been a team that you thought was on the take in games, it's the Nationals. Booting the most routine grounders, not hustling on the bases, etc. Mock's only allowed 9 base runners in 3 1/3 innings so far.
