QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 10, 2009 -> 01:07 AM) Please tell me they booed for that. Went to commercial right away. I've never seen that happened 2 innings apart. -

Yeah, someone needs to be fired. Another runner doubled off from 2nd on a soft flare. We have got to be the worst base running team in baseball. -

Wow, the crowd is booing after PK grounds out to pitcher with runner on 2nd, no outs. -

OMG, we have a player who can score from first on a double off the wall!!!!!! For those that didn't see it, CQ hit a hard double off the left center fence and Getz scored despite Byrd getting the ball right away off the wall. -

QUOTE (rangercal @ May 9, 2009 -> 11:50 PM) I know it was an accident, but I want to see retaliation. Not yet, with the game still tied. -

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ May 10, 2009 -> 12:44 AM) Whenever this offense decides to do something someone please wake me up. 1 hard hit ball the first time through the order tonight. Pods grounds out after taking strike 3 and 4. -

Kalapse...any stats on what certain spots in the order are hitting vs the Sox? Sure seems like we walk the #9 hitter far too often. -

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ May 9, 2009 -> 11:31 PM) Not good when the #3 hitter is hitting around .230. And that's the type of play that should get someone fired. PK forgot how many outs there were on the Fields pop up with bases loaded. Fields looks worse and worse every game, and it's just painful watching Thome swing like he's never seen an offspeed pitch. -

Infield hit and a throwing error on Getz. Pitch over it Danks, because everyone knows we might not score tonight. This place is dead, so chat it is. -

Nice catch by Alexei on that pop up. Plenty of range to play CF...ha! -
QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ May 9, 2009 -> 10:16 PM) This was Justin Edwards' draft scouting report: 105 Justin Edwards Olympia HS LHP L/L 5'11" 170 1987-09-07 HS 350K Comments: One of the top high school lefties out of Florida, he's shown good command of his fastball, change and curve. Velocity has varied, but he's hit 90 mph. Whenever you see a line like this, it usually means the pitcher throws 5 mph slower on average. Something to keep in mind with the draft coming up.

QUOTE (Felix @ May 9, 2009 -> 09:24 PM) What has Pods done so far to deserve more AB? He's been good on the bases, as he's only been caught stealing once.
-
QUOTE (santo=dorf @ May 9, 2009 -> 08:58 PM) Fathom has better stories of Freel than any of you guys can imagine. Yes, and I'm more confident in those stories being accurate than any other ones I've been told.

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 9, 2009 -> 08:27 PM) fathom is Ozzie. Pods is leading off tonight. Getz 2nd. Fields 8th. Anorexei back in the line-up as well. Awesome...haha
-
QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ May 9, 2009 -> 03:55 AM) I really don't think giving him an extra 4 or 5 days would have mattered. He hasn't had anything all season. How can you blame it on Oz? And with the Rangers having 6 righties in the lineup, it was a good lineup for him to have success against.
-
I'm very thankful they decided against Jim-Pam getting married at a courthouse. Considering that's been the biggest storyline for the entire series, that would be quite the non-dramatic conclusion to that story.

QUOTE (greg775 @ May 9, 2009 -> 03:52 AM) Beckham's not coming up, so it's dumb to talk about him IMO. Like you said it might be best, but it isn't going to happen, just like firing Walker isn't an option. He got extended in the offseason and that means he's staying until Oz gets fired and that will happen someday. All managers get fired. Yes, he's not coming up in the next month or so, but why not try Alexei in CF so that when Beckham is coming up, you don't have to move one of them to 3rd base, etc? I would agree with Ozzie 100 percent if we didn't have anyone in our organization in the minors who could play SS (basically like the last 20 years before we drafted Beckham). BTW, Walker's extension hasn't been finalized.

QUOTE (Kenny Hates Prospects @ May 9, 2009 -> 04:39 AM) I guess it just sucks that we've got all these hitters in our system who are close but no starting pitchers. I made a prediction before the season that this was the year we could end up seeing the Ely, Cassel, Egbert types and for now I'm sticking to it. Please get a starter Kenny. Unless you sign Byrd or Pedro, there's no reason to trade for a starting pitcher right now. It's not like it feels like we're one piece away from being the class of the AL Central. Give Richard a game or two, and then see where we stand at the end of May.

Forced to watch "Yes, Man" today. Just a terrible, terrible movie.
-
QUOTE (Kenny Hates Prospects @ May 9, 2009 -> 03:28 AM) I don't like the idea BTW of replacing Contreras with something you know that for the most part isn't going to be any better. I'd rather keep running him out there with the hope he changes things up if we're not going to go outside the organization for either a young guy who profiles as a starter or a healthy veteran with a track record. Well, it's happened
-
Had to be done. With Cleveland's strength in lefty hitters, hopefully it's Richard or Poreda.
-
QUOTE (JustWin @ May 9, 2009 -> 04:23 AM) Watch him only be out 3 or 4 weeks and be back in time for their IL against the Sox. Then he'll hit 5 run home runs against us. Tribune suggesting 4 to 6 weeks max.
-
Don't count me in as someone who thinks Richard has no chance of being a MLB starting pitcher. I think he can be a solid #4/5 starter in the majors. Don't forget that LHP in our division, especially, is extremely valuable.

QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ May 9, 2009 -> 04:21 AM) Is Retherford approaching Shelby/Cook prospect status, or is he already their for most people? How can Shelby and Cook be considered in the same stratosphere as a prospect with each other? Cook is almost 28 years old with a .764 OPS in AA. Shelby is 4 years younger than him and showing signs of improving his K/BB ratio.
