  1. QUOTE (Friend of Nordhagen @ Aug 23, 2008 -> 01:39 AM) I can't tell you how disappointed I've been in Quentin in the field. Could be he's actually better in right, but I had heard he was plus defensively. Not so much. Unbelievable hitter right now, but the D has been a bit suspect. It doesn't seem like he picks the ball up off the bat very well. Even on routine fly balls, it seems like he has to circle the wagons.
  2. Nice play by Uribe to get Upton. Hopefully the offense continues to be patient against Jackson.....and Ozzie sits on his hands.
  3. Our outfield really is awful defensively. Even an extremely slow catcher scores on a gapper.
  4. QUOTE (Wanne @ Aug 23, 2008 -> 02:30 AM) Well that was a possible big inning shot in the ass...... Feels like it wiped out the momentum..big inning for Danks here with bottom of the order.
  5. QUOTE (Brian @ Aug 23, 2008 -> 01:21 AM) Eddings you jerk! How dare you. Eddings should be in the top 10 of all-time White Sox favorites.
  6. Hell of an at bat Swisher. I would never, ever throw a 3-2 fastball to a White Sox hitter.
  7. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Aug 23, 2008 -> 02:10 AM) Alexei not off to a good start today. And if we keep pissing away these chances we're gonna find ourselves in a hole here pretty soon You don't want to get into the Balfour/Howell part of this bullpen trailing.
  8. Some pretty bad at bats with RISP so far tonight.
  9. I love Doug Eddings. That 2-2 non-call on Thome was a filthy pitch.
  10. QUOTE (3E8 @ Aug 23, 2008 -> 01:18 AM) Whatever happened to the girl who used to post here who loved Willie Harris You mean WHarris1?
  11. QUOTE (Brian @ Aug 23, 2008 -> 01:48 AM) Don't blame Cox for holding Jr, but damn, that throw was off line and he probably would of been safe. He would have been out by 20 feet still. Upton has one of the best arms in baseball...and Griffey's not exactly fast.
  12. Just terrible execution so far. Uribe fouled off 4 cookies, and then AJP swings at 2 pitches at his shoulders.
  13. QUOTE (Brian @ Aug 23, 2008 -> 12:44 AM) Horrible out, Nick. Cost the Sox a run if AJP can't get a hit.
  14. QUOTE (griffey17 @ Aug 22, 2008 -> 11:48 PM) anybody have the lineup? No Konerko
  15. NBC reporting that it's 99 pct sure it's Biden.
  16. QUOTE (greg775 @ Aug 22, 2008 -> 10:36 PM) That is wild and cool somebody ranked Willie No. 2 on their all time list. I would never even have thought of Willie but if he's your second fave player ever so be it. I am glad he got that hit and scored that run! Is he a starter this year? Is he a valuable big leaguer? I do hope Swish and OC do not make the list. My gawd, they are newcomers and not worthy of any fan favorite lists yet. So you're saying Carlos Quentin doesn't deserve to be on the list?
  17. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 22, 2008 -> 10:35 PM) I'd say one big difference is the scale of the numbers each of the 2 had put up before being traded. Ramirez had nearly 2000 at bats as a Pirate before being traded, and had already put together a full season with an OPS of nearly 900. Agreed, and the Pirates had soured on him because of his terrible attitude/effort, as well as escalating salary. It's more comparable due to you wonder why in the hell would the initial organization give up a talent like that. But what do I know, the Pirates were able to replace Aramis at 3rd base with Doug Mientkiewicz this season.
  18. QUOTE (SoxFan101 @ Aug 22, 2008 -> 10:27 PM) He stole Aramis too, hell Randall Simon and I think Kenny Lofton were in that trade too that were big boosts for the cubs during that season as well. The Aramis trade and the Quentin trade are very similar in terms of getting organization-changing players. Hell, at least Chris Carter could be something in the majors. Bobby Hill just sucked.
  19. QUOTE (soxfan3530 @ Aug 22, 2008 -> 08:50 PM) HUGE SERIES!!!! Go White Sox and Go Angels!!! Go Blue Jays
  20. QUOTE (Brian @ Aug 22, 2008 -> 09:50 PM) You just missed a Willie Harris Grand Slam to put the Nationals up. Hilarious. I just saw that on yahoo...funny stuff. How far was it?
  21. QUOTE (shipps @ Aug 22, 2008 -> 08:46 PM) That is a false statement and you know it. Guaranteed...I've hardly watched any Cubs games over the past month.
  22. QUOTE (Brian @ Aug 22, 2008 -> 09:26 PM) Should of contracted the Expos when the had the chance. Do the Nationals even have any minor league prospects that are touted? I'm still up in the air on Zimmerman. I'm a fan of Michael Burgess. Don't forget that they couldn't sign Crow. I promise I won't watch a second of this weekend series.
