  1. We ALWAYS embarass ourselves on Sunday's in Seattle.
  2. QUOTE(BearSox @ Aug 19, 2007 -> 09:09 PM) Toby Hall this season for the White Sox has a CERA of 6.61 and rising. For comparison's sake, Gustavo Molina's CERA this season was 4.26 and Pierzynski's CERA is 4.49. Also, Toby Hall's career CERA is in the 5's. I bring this up because Toby Hall has been just calling terrible games and I don't think he has much, if any, chemistry with any of the pitchers. I could see Donny Lucy being a september call up and possibly replace Hall next season. I can't believe we didn't DL Hall in July and let him get the surgery. Good point about the chemistry though....it seems odd. This is embarassing right now....someone has to lose their job.
  3. QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Aug 19, 2007 -> 09:07 PM) We should draft our own Ellsbury -- problem solved. Don't have to worry about trading for anyone. We can then draft our own Clay Buchholz while we're at it. Imagine that for a second; drafting players comparable those two with our first two selections. Seems almost impossible to expect, I know. But...but...but....we don't draft high enough to get possible superstars. Any bulls*** excuse like that is null and void after we were as cheap as possible this draft.
  4. Congrats to the Brewers and Capuano for losing 16 straight games in which he started.
  5. Nice swing by Owens there.
  6. I know Garland looks terrible, but Toby Hall is a horrible pitch-caller.
  7. Cubs are going to win the division by more than 5 games. I'm of the opinion that I want to see them playing the Mets in the first round. That's a great offensive team if Alou/Beltran are healthy.
  8. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Aug 19, 2007 -> 08:27 PM) Maybe the extra helpings at the buffet kept him from running down the line fast. Wait till he becomes Jabba the Hut when the 5 million dollar option is picked up. We have four slap hitters in our lineup today.....how sad is that?
  9. QUOTE(whitesoxfan99 @ Aug 19, 2007 -> 08:27 PM) Milwaukee has been pretty damn close. Ned Yost and Doug Melvin should be the laughingstock of baseball. They've blown about six, 5 run leads in the last two months.
  10. QUOTE(TitoMB345 @ Aug 19, 2007 -> 08:25 PM) God this team is beyond awful. They should define a new term for how bad we are. I can't think of a single team playing worse baseball right now. It's mind-boggling the job security that KW, Ozzie, and Cooper seem to have.
  11. Ah Scott Linebrink...good thing you sucked this year so KW won't give you 5 mil a year this offseason.
  12. QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Aug 19, 2007 -> 08:17 PM) He has to be me moved this offseason. PERIOD. I rather takes my chances on Contreras and getting a good return for Garland instead of trading Contreras and cash for nothing and putting up with this Judy s*** for another year. I know people always get on Garland for showing no emotion, but it sure seems like he's ready for this season to end.
  13. Garland is just terrible right now. He's on his way to having an ERA near 5. Really should have traded him at the deadline while he still had tremendous trade value.
  14. I've never heard Hawk sound so depressed.
  15. Capuano is such a loser....how many 5 run leads can one team blow in a season?
  16. It's sad when Fields is the 3rd best hitter in the lineup.
  17. Nice to see Ozzie leave Wasserman in to face a plethora of lefties. I'm going to be so pissed off if Owens is starting for the Sox next year....he's a one dimensional player, and that dimension is probably the least productive of all of them.
  18. QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Aug 19, 2007 -> 03:22 AM) I guess it's easier for Hawk and DJ to suggest "bad luck" was the reason the ball shot over Fields that than blame Danks for laying a fat fastball down the plate. http://www.soxtalk.com/forums/index.php?autocom=chat Thanks for saying exactly what I was thinking....I really wish I could be more optimistic about Danks, but he really has to work on his mechanics. His follow-thru is as bad as you'll find in the majors.
  19. Please, please, please, don't go into 2008 with Owens, Pods, or Erstad as a starting outfielder.
  20. AJP's homer was the prettiest swing I've seen all year. On the other hand, Danks just isn't fooling many hitters.
  21. You won't see a worse call at the plate all year. The Cubs have gotten every single crucial call in the last two months.
  22. QUOTE(kwolf68 @ Aug 18, 2007 -> 04:46 AM) And Erstad unless Ozzie signs a waiver to not start him every damn game. I'd have no problem with Erstad as the last, or next to last, guy on the bench. However, our manager is so s***ty, he won't be able to use him correctly.
  23. QUOTE(kwolf68 @ Aug 18, 2007 -> 04:44 AM) Pathetic. This organization is in shambles. They need to make some major changes. Everyone keeps saying this team's not that far away from competing, and I disagree with that. The talent level on the big league team is not playoff level, and the core players (PK, Thome, Dye, AJ) look to be slowing down.
  24. The two players that absolutely, positively better not be on the 2008 White Sox are Pods and Cintron.
  25. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Aug 18, 2007 -> 04:43 AM) Rob Mackowiak needs to be brought back this offseason. His contract is going to get bought out and he's going to become a free agent. He grew up here, he loves the city, seemingly likes the organization and he's a good baseball player. Seems like a perfect fit. For some reason, I don't think Ozzie ever knew what he had in Mackowiak. If Rob keeps playing poorly in San Diego, he's not going to get too much this offseason.
