  1. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Jun 6, 2007 -> 07:05 AM) Seeing that Chris Young homer is such a kick in the nuts. Kid is going to be a very good player in this league... Why the f*** did Kenny trade him again? I was just impressed by how much the ball jumped off of his bat.
  2. QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Jun 5, 2007 -> 07:43 PM) Here's what I don't get. You've flipped on trading McCarthy mid-season before (last year, when you jumped on him for Soriano), and this is your second flip, so far as I can tell, because last year you were talking about how overrated Fields was and how we should've traded him then while his value was high. When did I flip on McCarthy? I said if you can trade for Soriano AND extend his contract, then you trade McCarthy for him in a second. However, it was never really logical to think it would only take McCarthy to get him, and that he'd agreed to a contract before testing the market. And the reason I've changed my stance on Fields is because I've realized just how poor our offensive players are in the minors, and he's the only one who has a high ceiling. Trust me, everything I heard about Fields the first month of the season was awful. But it's nice to see him completely regroup and start playing like a top offensive prospect.
  3. Chris Young just hit a mammoth homer for a walk-off. The kid is going to be something special.
  4. QUOTE(BearSox @ Jun 6, 2007 -> 03:45 AM) I'm still a believer in Floyd. He's just got too good of stuff to suck so much. Any chance he could turn into a bullpen pitcher? He's got the stuff, a mid 90's fastball and a hammer... only if he could find the strike zone more often then not. Floyd throws in the 90-92 range as a starter.
  5. Looks like Buehrle found a new job. http://chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/sp...-home-headlines
  6. QUOTE(briguy27 @ Jun 6, 2007 -> 03:32 AM) i dont know if your point is "well at least the cubs lost", but if it is, im tired of that. the cubs arent even our biggest rival, yet alone 2nd or 3rd. we the tigers, indians, and twins to be worried about, not how the cubs do. we have our own problems that wont be fixed until we're 20 games back in september. If the Sox aren't going to make the playoffs, then I'll root like hell against the Cubs. Anyways, the Brewers are a very exciting team to watch.
  7. QUOTE(BearSox @ Jun 6, 2007 -> 03:24 AM) Same here... I wanted a Aybar + maybe a little something else out of Crede in the offseason... Aybar is so overrated on this site, it's scary.
  8. Ok....why the hell are you sending him? I don't care if he was safe....that's freaking stupid as hell.
  9. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jun 6, 2007 -> 03:13 AM) Would anyone else consider PHing here with Rivera coming in to pitch? Why, righties hit Rivera better historically.
  10. QUOTE(South Side Fireworks Man @ Jun 6, 2007 -> 03:06 AM) It's nice to see a White Sox player that can get down the line. Yep, it's the main thing with Owens that has impressed me (ok, the only thing). It's also nice to see a speed guy run all the way thru the base.
  11. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Jun 6, 2007 -> 03:06 AM) Kenny better resist that urge to add talent to this team if we are 10 or more out. No kidding....I'm not going to try and convince anyone else to follow my thinking, but this is a .500 team that has no chance to make the playoffs. These guys just have slow legs and bats. There's also way too many medicore hitters in our lineup every day.
  12. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Jun 6, 2007 -> 03:00 AM) So thats the slider thats near the top of the scouts scale? Is it graded on a curve because its a sox minor leaguer. It's weird, because to me, it looks like a terrible slider. Are we sure it's not a 10 on the 80 scale, and not a 70?
  13. Wouldn't tonight have been a good night to get Prinz some game action? KW should be absolutely ashamed of this bullpen.
  14. QUOTE(maggsmaggs @ Jun 6, 2007 -> 02:48 AM) My god, how did Juan actually hit in the 2004 season? Don't question how anyone hit prior to the 2006 season.
  15. Uribe has been horrific since the first few weeks of the season.
  16. Who's this pitcher we called up who's leading off?
  17. All I know is the Brewers better hold on to their lead.
  18. Is this going to be about our 5th game in the last few weeks that went from close in the 5th inning to a blowout by the 7th?
  19. You guys think Hawk is bad, all I've heard from Farmer the last few weeks is: "once these guys start hitting, they might not stop"
  20. QUOTE(quickman @ Jun 6, 2007 -> 01:59 AM) and if he sucks, then what. then we realize that unless we have a 125 million dollar payroll the next few years, our team isn't going to be very good.
  21. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Jun 6, 2007 -> 01:57 AM) Your way too smart to say the bolded, Fathom. Why....this is a fantastic lineup the Yankees have, especially against someone who they can wait on and get good pitches to hit every at-bat.
  22. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jun 6, 2007 -> 01:54 AM) So, when will Sox fans just give credit to the offense instead of s***ting on their pitcher and questioning every one of the manager's moves? That inning would have still been bad, but there's no excuse for Cintron not to be playing closer due to his lack of arm strength. Of course, he shouldn't even be out there.
