If you would have told me that Masset, Prinz, Day, and Buckvich were our righty set-up men, I would have told you that the AAA team likely wouldn't be good.

Like I said last night, KW should be ashamed of this bullpen.

I still think we should try and trade for Milledge. He could end up being a complete bust....but he has the tools and charisma to be a special player. Just like how Jenks possessed an arm that we don't have in our system, he possesses the type of talent that we don't develop.

QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Jun 7, 2007 -> 02:20 AM) How come nobody in the organization has been commenting on this offense? When was the last time Hawk said "I never seen a team with this much talent go through a funk like this?" That was the 2006 slogan. 2007 slogan will be "they just could never all be healthy at the same time".

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jun 7, 2007 -> 02:19 AM) You know, that's a sad point. This is so much less frustrating than that 7 game skid in August-Sept of 05...I miss those days. Those guys seemed to care. This team just makes losing seem so easy now.

QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Jun 7, 2007 -> 02:16 AM) DJ trying to take some heat off the offense. Stating that our pitching should just buck it up, and pitch out of their minds and dont allow the other team to score. 4 runs a game we score. When was the last time 4 crossed the plate. It's getting to the point where I'm way too comfortable with us losing. I don't even think my blood pressure is high right now.

QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jun 7, 2007 -> 02:09 AM) fathom, you know better than that. Someone will complain either way. Hell, Owens scored on JD's flyball the other night and you yourself complained. Yep, it was stupid to send him in that inning. At both points in the game, the out is more vital than the run scoring. If someone like Owens is out by as much as he was in the last inning, then that's a bad call.

QUOTE(My Dixie Normus @ Jun 7, 2007 -> 02:05 AM) Is it just me or do the White Sox lead the league in getting runners nailed at the plate by 20 feet? We have to run 100 feet per base, and the opponents get 80 feet.

QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jun 7, 2007 -> 02:04 AM) Either way, SoxTalk b****es about it. Let's see.....Owens gets a bad jump, Cabrera is playing shallow and has an amazing arm, there's one out, and the Sox are down 3 with your best power hitter on deck. I hope no one would have been complaining if he held him.

Wow, more stupid coaching. I can't wait for this whole coaching staff to be fired.

I can't believe DJ just said "Wang has to be ready for guys beating stuff off"

QUOTE(Greg The Bull Luzinski @ Jun 7, 2007 -> 01:52 AM) The rest of the team might be too lethargic to help Dye not die though. They'd have no problem pulling him up....pulling is the one thing they know how to do.

I'm shocked we've beat this Yankees team 3 times this year.

QUOTE(Greg The Bull Luzinski @ Jun 7, 2007 -> 01:47 AM) Erstad? Erstad doesn't hit the ball hard though. Dan Bernstein said that about Mackowiak a few weeks ago, and it's so true. I love Mackowiak....but he just pounds the ball into the ground a lot.

QUOTE(Whitewashed in @ Jun 7, 2007 -> 01:45 AM) Speaking of Marte, he would be our best pitcher in the bullpen this year...yikes 1.45 ERA 18.2 innings 8 walks 19 K's 14 hits 1.18 WHIP Not that he would have those numbers with us, but his numbers surprised me when I looked at them the other day. So would David Riske....it's just one of those years.

No one can hit that hard grounder like Mackowiak.

QUOTE(Whitewashed in @ Jun 7, 2007 -> 01:40 AM) He has a decent track record for getting something for nothing. Dye isn't nothing though. This is much different than trading someone like Guerrier for Marte or Miles for Uribe.

QUOTE(Greg The Bull Luzinski @ Jun 7, 2007 -> 01:38 AM) Three are other AL Central Teams are consumed in plane crashes. Yeah, but their minor league teams might give us a run for our money. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Jun 7, 2007 -> 01:39 AM) The only chip we have is Buerhle. Thats it. Dye???? Trading an aged, bad defensive power hitter who isnt hitting doesnt reap the large bevy of prospects. A good GM could get value for Dye still. However, if we wait another month and he's hitting .225 with 15 homers, we're not going to get anything good in return. It's painfully obvious he's lost a step. He's also my PTGODLN (Pick to go on DL next).

I wish it was more fun to watch this team. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Jun 7, 2007 -> 01:32 AM) We are teetering on some historic futility with our offense. 4 games in the win column on the mighty royals. I honestly can't fathom how this team has any chance at the playoffs. At least Fields gives me something to look forward to every 3rd inning.

Two things: - Gary Sheffield is awesome right now. Too bad we didn't go after him for LF. - Ozzie's complaining about Latino players being targeted in the steroid investigation. I never knew Bonds and Giambi were latinos.

White Sox vs. Yankees, 6/6/07 (L)
Dye's really a liability right now. We have to have one of the worst right side defensive teams, in terms of range, in baseball history.
-

Jerry Owens is not a major league caliber hitter.

QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Jun 7, 2007 -> 01:04 AM) The bleeding on the season continues. Dont worry, flip their baseball cards. They are due to breakout any day now, or last month or so. Yep, I'm reading Javy's baseball card, and it tells me he's a losing pitcher in the majors.

QUOTE(The Critic @ Jun 7, 2007 -> 01:00 AM) I hate fearing that the game is over if Rodriguez gets a hit. That's how low my confidence has gotten in this team's ability to come back in a game. If there's one pitcher that could no-hit us, it's Wang and his sinker.
