White Sox vs. Yankees, 6/6/07 (L)
I wonder how many fire sale threads will be started tonight?

White Sox vs. Yankees, 6/6/07 (L)
We're just such a bad team. This isn't what I wanted to see after Chris Young's shot last night.

Someone might want to tell AJ to stop throwing Cairo 2 strike outside offspeed pitches. That's about the only pitch he can do damage on.

Amanda Beard to pose in Playboy
QUOTE(BearSox @ Jun 7, 2007 -> 12:14 AM) Lets not get too picky... we all know we'd hit it if we got the chance. She looked like Courtney Cox's drugged-up sister last night.

Wow, that's the most I've ever seen Javy lean back and fire it since he's been here. Quite impressive.

Vazquez vs Damon....about time Yanks got some advantage from that match-up.

I made an optimistic prediction last night, and it didn't come true. Thus, my pessimistic prediction is that we hit into four double plays tonight.

QUOTE(SoxFanForever @ Jun 6, 2007 -> 09:46 PM) I hope he continues on the tear he was on down in Charlotte. It would be nice to see a prospect come up and hit the ball with authority. You mean you don't like to see the battle between Owens and Sweeney to see which player can hit the softest grounders?

Joe Crede to 15 day DL, Josh Fields called up from AAA.
QUOTE(quickman @ Jun 6, 2007 -> 10:04 PM) pain has a tendency to do that to you. anyway, we are running out of prospects to parade around. The very best hting that could happen is fields does well, and when crede gets better we trade him, anything short of that would be dissapointing for all involved. Yep, you could see last year how upright and mechancial Crede's swing got as his back got worse. It's painful for not only him, but for us to watch him hit now. The Sox really should have traded him the second he refused to get the surgery.

I'll be disapointed if Fields doesn't turn into a better overall hitter than Crede within 4 years. For as clutch as Crede was at the end of the season in 2005 and the beginning of 2006, he sure did seem to fail a lot in clutch situations the last 100 games or so of his Sox career.

Amanda Beard to pose in Playboy
QUOTE(Rex Hudler @ Jun 6, 2007 -> 03:30 AM) Amanda Beard on Letterman tonight. Let's see how she looks in glorious HD! I thought she looked awful!

The Reason This Team is Bad, and Yes: It's Ozzie's Fault
The Sox are last in doubles in the majors by an astonishing margin of 19.

QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Jun 6, 2007 -> 07:05 AM) Seeing that Chris Young homer is such a kick in the nuts. Kid is going to be a very good player in this league... Why the f*** did Kenny trade him again? I was just impressed by how much the ball jumped off of his bat.

Mike Lowell for Third Base next year?
QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Jun 5, 2007 -> 07:43 PM) Here's what I don't get. You've flipped on trading McCarthy mid-season before (last year, when you jumped on him for Soriano), and this is your second flip, so far as I can tell, because last year you were talking about how overrated Fields was and how we should've traded him then while his value was high. When did I flip on McCarthy? I said if you can trade for Soriano AND extend his contract, then you trade McCarthy for him in a second. However, it was never really logical to think it would only take McCarthy to get him, and that he'd agreed to a contract before testing the market. And the reason I've changed my stance on Fields is because I've realized just how poor our offensive players are in the minors, and he's the only one who has a high ceiling. Trust me, everything I heard about Fields the first month of the season was awful. But it's nice to see him completely regroup and start playing like a top offensive prospect.

Chris Young just hit a mammoth homer for a walk-off. The kid is going to be something special.

6/5 Games
QUOTE(BearSox @ Jun 6, 2007 -> 03:45 AM) I'm still a believer in Floyd. He's just got too good of stuff to suck so much. Any chance he could turn into a bullpen pitcher? He's got the stuff, a mid 90's fastball and a hammer... only if he could find the strike zone more often then not. Floyd throws in the 90-92 range as a starter.

White Sox vs. Yankees, 6/5/07 (L)
QUOTE(briguy27 @ Jun 6, 2007 -> 03:32 AM) i dont know if your point is "well at least the cubs lost", but if it is, im tired of that. the cubs arent even our biggest rival, yet alone 2nd or 3rd. we the tigers, indians, and twins to be worried about, not how the cubs do. we have our own problems that wont be fixed until we're 20 games back in september. If the Sox aren't going to make the playoffs, then I'll root like hell against the Cubs. Anyways, the Brewers are a very exciting team to watch.

Crede Out Again, Possible DL Trip (per Score)
QUOTE(BearSox @ Jun 6, 2007 -> 03:24 AM) Same here... I wanted a Aybar + maybe a little something else out of Crede in the offseason... Aybar is so overrated on this site, it's scary.

QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jun 6, 2007 -> 03:13 AM) Would anyone else consider PHing here with Rivera coming in to pitch? Why, righties hit Rivera better historically.
