  1. QUOTE(Hideaway Lights @ May 18, 2007 -> 09:06 PM) we still don't have Jim Thome or Scott Podsednik, and we just got back a backup catcher capable of hitting at the major league level a little patience beyond one game would be completely refreshing Oh come on....the chances of Pods coming back 100 pct this year aren't very good. KW should have never brought him back, as he's as fragile as Barbaro. As for Thome....it's hard to put a lot of faith in a 36 year old power hitter who swings very hard with a rib cage injury.
  2. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ May 18, 2007 -> 09:05 PM) No offense, Ozzie asleep at the wheel, and Jose on short rest for Sunday = Cubs sweep. I smelled Cubs sweep a week ago, but that's just my pessimistic nature. Marquis is throwing the ball great, and I'm sure Zambrano will dominate us on Sunday.
  3. QUOTE(caulfield12 @ May 18, 2007 -> 09:03 PM) No team that gives up more runs that it scores has ever finished in first, probably not even in 2nd. We're simply not that good. Our offense is the worst in the AL, and our bullpen is tied for 2nd in blown saves. We're exactly where we belong with our strong starting pitching (20 something starts of 6+ innings) and good defense...it's cancelled out by our offense and bullpen. Bingo! Look at our talent level....it's nothing special.
  4. QUOTE(Hideaway Lights @ May 18, 2007 -> 09:02 PM) Is this coming from the same guy who basically invented the "choke" avatar in 2005? I never once used the avatar, thanks! And to say that team didn't choke over the last two months of the regular season is a nice case of hindsight.
  5. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ May 18, 2007 -> 09:02 PM) Pathetic. You suck Ozzie. It's not just Ozzie that deserves the suck label right now. It's ok, as long as our pitching does well, Greg Walker's job will be safe.
  6. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ May 18, 2007 -> 09:01 PM) 6 hits against the Cubs!?!?! WTF Quite the outburst. Only 2 more hits than errors.
  7. QUOTE(Hideaway Lights @ May 18, 2007 -> 08:58 PM) I see. I didn't realize we went undefeated in games against teams with worse records in 2005. No, but we won virtually every close game we had. We probably have more blown saves this year than we did in all of 2005. My grandma could have managed a team well with 3 lights out relievers.
  8. QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ May 18, 2007 -> 08:57 PM) 1-2 already on Uribe. At least Sweeney is in the hole. Should've played him over Terrero in the first place. Of course Ozzie Guillen's too much of an idiot. Sweet...Sweeney can work the count full, and then break his bat. Hopefully it'll be a bloop.
  9. Lefties are hitting .417 against MacDougal coming into today. Good thing Ozzie brought in MacDougal to face a switch-hitter. Nothing like putting your team in the best chance to succeed.
  10. QUOTE(briguy27 @ May 18, 2007 -> 08:54 PM) angel pagan=sox killer last year in the final game at wrigley, he hit 2 homers in the cubs 15-11 win, and today, he's 3-5 well at least the cubs bullpen sucks and we have a shot...oh wait no we dont, we have uribe, hall, and terrero, and the worst offense in the league It must be nice to get offensive production from your minor league players when you call them up. Instead, we get people annointing Ryan Sweeney as a god thanks to his soft .209 average.
  11. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ May 18, 2007 -> 08:53 PM) Giving Dempster a couple of runs to work with is inexcusable. But there are those that really think Ozzie Guillen is 100% the reason the Sox won the WS in 2005. And those are the dumbasses who also think KW got equal value in the Garcia trade.
  12. QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ May 18, 2007 -> 08:52 PM) Ozzie proving again why he is the single worst manager in baseball. God I hope he doesn't last much longer. I'm sure he'll react well to the media stuff after his outburst earlier today.
  13. QUOTE(TitoMB345 @ May 18, 2007 -> 08:52 PM) What a joke. Atleast MacDougals ERA is at 6.00. Maybe Ozzie will sit him,. Some bullpen we have....is that three guys with an ERA above 6?
  14. QUOTE(premo @ May 18, 2007 -> 08:51 PM) This got real ugly real fast. MacDougal is a joke, and now that I think about it, so is most of this team We can't hit lefty pitching...it's really f***ing sad.
  15. I wasn't watching the game, but why in the hell wasn't AJP brought in for defensive purposes after the top of the 7th? With a 2 run lead and Hall just batting the inning before, that would have been the smart baseball decision to make. Of course, with the idiot we have managing, that would be too much thinking.
  16. How about we just don't trade for anymore players from KC. There's a reason they have a history of losing over the last decade. The thing is, MacDougal is brutal against lefties. He should have been brought in to face Theriot if he was going to come in at all.
  17. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ May 18, 2007 -> 08:46 PM) Somehow tons of people do. This guy makes bad decisions every f***ing game and people kiss his ass. At least he keeps the clubhouse chemistry good.
  18. Can we just fire KW and Ozzie? Great job by KW of upgrading the bullpen this offseason like he stated he would.
  19. QUOTE(aboz56 @ May 18, 2007 -> 05:56 PM) Crede out today, Terrero in. (Joe took a ball to the face during BP apparently) This has been a pretty annoying day in regards to Sox stuff already.

    Ozzie

QUOTE(jackie hayes @ May 18, 2007 -> 05:24 PM) It's a pretty short interview, and it's on 670's website. Basically just that he's "disappointed", "surprised", "frustrated", doesn't need a rest ("How come noone asked me?")...but "I don't make the lineup". Funniest thing is how much North thinks of himself. "Who do you think you're talking to?" Lof'nl. I'll stick up for Ozzie on this....AJP needs to STFU then. Maybe if he hit lefties better, he wouldn't have to worry about it. AJP, more than anyone, should have seen just how bad Molina is, and how much of an upgrade Hall is.

    Ozzie

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ May 18, 2007 -> 03:18 PM) Diverting attention away from everyone pounding on the offense and Greg Walker? Seems like a peculiar time to pick an argument though, as everyone in the media the last two days were saying that the Sox are playing good, and the Cubs are a disaster. I have no problem that Ozzie did this....we all know he's immature and unprofessional in how he handles things in the media. Besides for sticking up for his decision to play Hall though, I don't think there were a lot of other reasons going on for him to do this.

    Thome

QUOTE(caulfield12 @ May 18, 2007 -> 02:27 PM) Sweeney is better than Jeremy Reed (it's close) but there's no way he is better than Erstad in CF, not at this point in his career. As of right now, Erstad and Reed are better defensively than Sweeney. However, Sweeney has a lot more potential defensively thanks to have a strong throwing arm.

    Ozzie

If you're going to play a catcher who can't throw, there's probably no better guy to have on the mound than Buehrle. He either picks guys off or they get a HUGE jump against him. I'm not one to defend Ozzie, but if this was legit, then I have no problem with him going off on Mike North.

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ May 18, 2007 -> 02:06 PM) This is the second day in a row they have done that, and there is nothing out on the wires about an injury. Everything in print today is talking about his return Monday. Besides I thought you were the guy with the connections, you tell us It happened on the road, so it's a lot harder for me to find out information about this (especially because it doesn't deal with a minor league prospect).
