White Sox vs. Twins, 5/28/07 (L)
QUOTE(WHarris1 @ May 28, 2007 -> 09:04 PM) We need some kind of shakeup in the pen. I don't care if it's not a huge improvement, you can't just stay pat with these s***brains. Isn't that what we did by bringing up Day for Sisco? Seriously, you can't just send down every reliever that sucks.

You know, it's a good thing that Danks looks good so far. If not, I'd say KW had about the worst possible offseason a GM could have.

QUOTE(zenryan @ May 28, 2007 -> 09:02 PM) when did Arnie Munoz become a right handed reliever? Ha, that's who I compared him to before the game. Any righty with a slider who struggles more against righty hitters than lefty hitters obviously sucks.

How in the hell did we call up Day? He sucks.

Will Ozzie have the balls to throw at someone after this? I hate this f***ing team's demeanor.

More stellar defense by the right side of the field.

QUOTE(Dick Allen @ May 28, 2007 -> 08:53 PM) I don't think they are cheap overall, I think they do need a refresher course on how to spend their money. I'm very concerned about KW's quotes last offseason about how he won't "play" in this crazy market. This team has a s***load of holes over the next few years to fill....maybe more than we've had in 10 years. QUOTE(winninguglyin83 @ May 28, 2007 -> 08:55 PM) look at the bright side: When they show the highlight of THAT Hunter catch for the next four months, they will finally quit showing hte highlights of the one he pulled back against El Caballo four years ago. That Lee one was a much better, more significant catch. Every CF in baseball catches that Thome fly ball.

QUOTE(Soxfest @ May 28, 2007 -> 08:53 PM) YEAH tell me again how we are not f***ed in this place over and over! Why is everyone so surprised at this? We're the big bad mashers....they're the small ball team. We go in there and hit a few homers every game, and they bloop and chop us to death. Their players are taught to play this way, and our players are taught to swing hard.

Nice catch....I was told Brian Anderson was going to be better than him.

QUOTE(Dick Allen @ May 28, 2007 -> 08:51 PM) The WS title has really gone to his head. He thinks he's smarter than everyone else. I loved his quote the other day how he's "used to winning". Someone should remind him that in the first 6 years of his GM tenure, he has won the division 1 time, despite usually having the highest payroll. Such a great post....him and Ozzie are very arrogant now. QUOTE(Soxfest @ May 28, 2007 -> 08:51 PM) Thome looks lost today! Against a lefty? NO WAY!

QUOTE(Soxfest @ May 28, 2007 -> 08:49 PM) I really am tired of smugass KW sitting on his ass doing nothing but looking for guys on the cheap! Wait until this offseason when we lose some high-priced guys. Everyone's expecting us to go after guys like Ichiro or Zambrano. I don't see that happening.

QUOTE(chisoxfan79 @ May 28, 2007 -> 08:47 PM) but they do alot of the little things nobody on our team does like Bunt and steal No....they still suck. We don't need more bunting. It doesn't matter, the rest of the team is so slow anyways. All bunting would do is give up an out.

QUOTE(TitoMB345 @ May 28, 2007 -> 08:45 PM) Rofl @ Aardsma. What a joke of a pitcher. How do you go from lights-out dominating, to the worst reliever on the team? P.S. at the time of this post Sisco is already gone. Maybe we should be happy we got such a good month from him.

QUOTE(chisoxfan79 @ May 28, 2007 -> 08:44 PM) Why because they don't put up those Sexy fantasy stats No, because they suck. They only look good against us because of their speed. .230 batting averages with no power means you suck.

QUOTE(chisoxfan79 @ May 28, 2007 -> 08:40 PM) Kenny needs to make a move just to shake things up send a message I don't who or what but something this team right now is gonna be in 4th place the ERA 'S re rising, the Bullpen sucks, and we just don't have enough tough outs like a Punto or a Bartlett. Punto and Bartlett suck

QUOTE(RME JICO @ May 28, 2007 -> 08:40 PM) I am really hoping Contreras is the one moved this offseason. I just have such a bad feeling it will be Buehrle and Garland that are gone. Don't worry though, Floyd and Gio are ready to come up and lead us to a 5th place AL Central finish.

QUOTE(Dick Allen @ May 28, 2007 -> 08:39 PM) I am so sick of Sox pitchers falling behind in counts. If their stuff is so dominating why don't the White Sox pitchers attack the hitters? The stuff of the Sox pitchers is so overrated. We have two guys that throw at least 95 mph, we have only one guy with a specialty pitch (Contreras).

QUOTE(diegotony06 @ May 28, 2007 -> 08:37 PM) I saw the smiley faces. I'm just pissed cause I had money on this game, and Ozziee f***ed me. No hard feelings bro No offense, as you know I like negative posts, but you're the dumbass for betting on the Sox.

QUOTE(Wedge @ May 28, 2007 -> 08:31 PM) By sending your staff ace out there to pitch another inning? My memory is short... but I think that's what Ozzie did. Our staff ace with a 4.45 ERA and diminishing fastball? Sounds like 2006 all over again.

White Sox vs. Twins, 5/28/07 (L)
BTW, Ozzie's biggest mistake was not having the infield in when Punto was up. With a one run lead in the 6th against a starter/relief core which is lights out....you have to try and cut down that run at home. QUOTE(JohnCangelosi @ May 28, 2007 -> 08:32 PM) How long have you been watching Twins baseball? They are by far the luckiest team in the league with all of the BS that happens in this joke of a stadium, including shank hits and infield choppers that bounce like a FU*&ING superball that they have perfected at this place. Not to mention the lost in the tarp advantage they have amongst others. I've seen it now for 22 years. Playing there 81 games a year is the biggest home field advantage in baseball, bar none. Of course, in the post season, they get exposed and undressed like the b&tches they are but thats a whole nother point. I admit they are fundamentally sound and have a great bullpen, but mark my words: THIS WILL BE A DIFFERENT TEAM WHEN THEY MOVE INTO THE NEW STADIUM!!!! It's called they play towards their stadium. Like you said, it's not luck if it always happens. They construct their team around playing like this.

QUOTE(Heads22 @ May 28, 2007 -> 08:30 PM) He started slowly, however. Everyone's had their rocky points. Evidently Greg Walker moved on from the offense and is now working with the Sox BP. I just want to know where everyone's velocity went? Aardsma was throwing 95-96 mph last year....and now everything is 91-92 mph. Don't even get me started on Contreras and Vazquez's velocity.

QUOTE(Wedge @ May 28, 2007 -> 08:29 PM) You have to know in your heart of hearts that even if Ozzie does that we're still probably losing this game. That's fine....but I hate when he leaves out the starting pitcher to die when it's obvious to everyone they have nothing left.

White Sox vs. Twins, 5/28/07 (L)
QUOTE(Heads22 @ May 28, 2007 -> 08:27 PM) So how is Ozzie supposed to protect against that? I didn't say it was all his fault. Vazquez and Contreras had nothing two straight days, and it was just a matter of time before they gave up a handful of runs in an inning. However, once Contreras let Bartlett reach base, a lefty should have been brought in. Not only cause the next 3 hitters were either lefties or switch hitters, but also to hold the runner more efficiently.

Contreras should have been pulled after Bartlett's single for Logan.
