  1. Need to make this a long inning for Kazmir. No more swinging at 2-0 and 3-0 pitches.
  2. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ May 27, 2007 -> 07:49 PM) I dont hate Javy at all. I think with his stuff he should pound the zone in more with hard stuff, and then use his two seamer/change more as the out pitch. Its more of a problem with how we attack certain types of hitters. We pitch away from contact, and some hitters realize this and go oppo. Javy can't pitch inside, and that's due to his fastball having so much tailing action. Nearly every pitch he threw over the last few innings was up, and we were just getting lucky that they were hitting balls right at our defenders.
  3. QUOTE(mr_genius @ May 27, 2007 -> 07:47 PM) and the thread turns into a hate fest I think most of us always hate Javy, and it's for this reason. He just doesn't know how to win games.
  4. QUOTE(Greg The Bull Luzinski @ May 27, 2007 -> 07:46 PM) Hooray!!! We have at least three more years of seeing Sh---y Javy live up to his potential. And his stuff keeps looking worse and worse.
  5. And there goes the lead....I hate Javy Vazquez. Way to keep everything up in the zone. That was entirely too predictable.
  6. QUOTE(chisoxfan79 @ May 27, 2007 -> 07:44 PM) He wouldn't be if they contracted the D RAYS He'd find a team, as he's a good PH.
  7. Ozzie might want to get the bullpen going....Vazquez is up in the zone with everything.
  8. No time for replacements from our minor leagues....we need a starting LF. We've waited long enough to see if Pods would heal soon....but we know how fast Barbaro heals.
  9. QUOTE(Whitewashed in @ May 27, 2007 -> 07:33 PM) Besides the franchise type players in the minor leagues everyone is iffy until they produce. A lefty with a plus curveball and a good fastball is not just an ordinary prospect. That's what I'm saying....if we can get a major league star for him as a main cog in a trade, I'd say that's a great return on the Garcia trade.
  10. Javy needs to start making some better pitches in order to preserve this lead.
  11. Time for Vazquez to overcome his poor 5th innings in recent games.
  12. QUOTE(zenryan @ May 27, 2007 -> 07:27 PM) why do people still talk about getting Crawford? TB will not tade him! time to give it a rest. Actually, with Upton showing he can be a good player, they're going to be more likely to trade him now more than ever. However, I still think some team, like the Red Sox, will trade for Baldelli.
  13. QUOTE(Whitewashed in @ May 27, 2007 -> 07:23 PM) I'd part with Sweeney, but not Gio. Not with the pitching in the ALC. Gio is still an iffy major league prospect. I'd lose no sleep if we used him, and his enhanced numbers, to acquire a good outfielder.
  14. KW really can't just call up Owens and think that will replace Ozuna. We need someone who can hit against LHP for the outfield. As Tony said, stop with the minor league replacements....and find a new starter.
  15. QUOTE(Heads22 @ May 27, 2007 -> 07:20 PM) rotoworld seems to think Pablo's DTD No....he's out for the year.
  16. QUOTE(Whitewashed in @ May 27, 2007 -> 07:17 PM) Everyone would love that, but the Drays always ask for kings ransom. I'd give them any combination of guys in our organization besides for Danks. If you could get Crawford for Gio and Sweeney, you drive those guys to the airport.
  17. Good inning for Javy....hopefully they continue to show some patience, and don't let Kazmir get past the 5th.
  18. Awesome approach by our last three hitters! Hawk with some entertaining announcing there, as well.
  19. Excellent swing by Dye there. Shorten up the swing PK, and do the same.
  20. Oh boy....Pablo's out for the season. It's too bad.
  21. More first pitch swinging....great approach guys! At least we get to face Johan tomorrow.
  22. 25 pitches thru 2 for Kazmir. I'm sure he'll have no problem going 7 innings with this approach. Why couldn't it have been fine last night, and then rained today? They're hitting some rockets off of Vazquez. His stuff just isn't that great right now. 4 straight bullets against Mr. Overrated. Another half-ass Sunday home effort on the way.
  23. What a shocker....another tailing fastball for Vazquez down the cock that a player cranks. I guess it's a good thing he's throwing 91 mph fastballs now.
  24. Terrible approach by Dye on that at-bat, as 3rd base is the only place you can't hit it to in that situation. QUOTE(DrunkBomber @ May 27, 2007 -> 06:26 PM) Well I cant say Im a fan of that, at least were getting some runners on though Need to be more patient, like Thome/Iguchi, in order to get Kazmir out of there sooner rather than later.
  25. Vazquez better be sharp today, as any single or walk will turn into an automatic double with Hall behind the plate. The best chance we have against Kazmir is to be patient and make him throw 100 pitches in 5 innings.
