Red Sox Interested in Buehrle?
QUOTE(Greg The Bull Luzinski @ Jun 24, 2007 -> 11:00 PM) This place is gonna be up for grabs when Buehrle gets trade. Even if we absolutely rape a team's farm system. Everybody will be pissed. So it is not enough to be pissed at the team's preformance,be pissed at the moves. ... and if you are going to use that line in your article tomorrow Mr. Mariotti, please site it to Greg the Bull If we get Buccholz in the deal or Ellsbury and Bowden, I'll be very happy. QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Jun 24, 2007 -> 11:00 PM) I'll smash something. But doesn't Wily Mo remind you of the type of player that KW loves? I'm sure he thinks Walker can fix him.

Red Sox Interested in Buehrle?
Just a little reminder....if we trade Buehrle, don't worry. That money we save will be used this offseason to upgrade the team and get us back to the grind. That's right, you know who will be coming back!

Red Sox Interested in Buehrle?
I'd just like to put in my final prediction for who we'd get if we traded Buerhle: Bowden and Wily Mo Pena.

Red Sox Interested in Buehrle?
I think Ellsbury is definitely someone they'll trade, as they can afford to go get one of the FA CF's this offseason.

That post stated it was a Score producer. Trust me, if he didn't board the charter, someone would find out about it.

Red Sox Interested in Buehrle?
It's funny to think it's possible we'll be dealing with the Buehrle rumors for another month.

Red Sox Interested in Buehrle?
QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Jun 24, 2007 -> 10:48 PM) I think it's safe to say the contract agreement was bogus. I think it's really strange that "BUEHRLE AGREES TO CONTRACT EXTENSION...MAYBE!" on WSI is reported before, say, "Buehrle Traded For _______" We should know for sure in about 30 minutes, when Red Sox game is over.

Is it safe to say the contract agreement rumor was bogus?

"our scouts noticed something on video that they think they can correct"

Brewers Interested in Buehrle?
Braun's one of the strongest young players I've seen in a decade. But there's no way they're trading him, so it doesn't matter.

Brewers Interested in Buehrle?
Turnbow's not very good. A reliever that will be with us only only for the next 2 years or so is the last thing we should try to acquire.

Red Sox Interested in Buehrle?
QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Jun 24, 2007 -> 10:33 PM) I'm with Maggs on this one. Obviously you are taking a risk, but I wait it out with Mark, at least for a few more weeks. Buehrle has shown no signs of slowing down, and the longer you wait, the better chance that more teams enter the equation due to injury, playoff contention, ect. The only way you rush this trade is if they're blowing you away with the proposal. KW's been getting offers for Buehrle for a month now, so he had a decent idea of what he migth be able to get. We should just start looking for any Red Sox minor leaguer who did good in Winter Ball.

Inman, Hart, and another prospect for Buehrle and MacDougal

Can we just lend him to them?

Red Sox Interested in Buehrle?
QUOTE(Friend of Nordhagen @ Jun 24, 2007 -> 10:31 PM) Apparently, when asked earlier today if Buehrle would be moved, KW said "not today." Who cares what he says. Also, maybe he thought the negotiations for the contract would be longer than they were.

Red Sox Interested in Buehrle?
QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 24, 2007 -> 10:29 PM) KW wouldn't make a deal like that. He really needs to come away from this thing looking like he got one hell of a deal and Lowrie is not nearly good enough to get this deal done alone. I mean to come away from this thing without even receiving a top 100 prospect in return would be a complete disaster. Yep, trading Buehrle is different than any other player with the Sox. KW will have to be able to justify this trade to not only the smart fans, but to the dumb fans also. I just looked at Lowrie's numbers, and he's not very good. The more I think about it, the more I think we'll take a chance on Wily Mo. QUOTE(maggsmaggs @ Jun 24, 2007 -> 10:29 PM) I think everything right now is just quick reactions to our suckage. KW will not make a quick move like this b/c he can't possibly get top value for MB or any others. He will wait, the only changes I see are more bullpen switches maybe Floyd up instead of Masset and Gonzo down and Sweeney up. All the posts being made now are in reaction to the Boston media reports.

Laumann new scouting director
QUOTE(Heads22 @ Jun 24, 2007 -> 10:25 PM) What are you basing this on? He said that this was the year he wanted to be more hands-on. Yep, and then he went and drafted a pitcher he had never seen in person.

Red Sox Interested in Buehrle?
Just remember, if something did happen today, they might wait until the Red Sox game is over today. They're in the 7th inning.

Red Sox Interested in Buehrle?
QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Jun 24, 2007 -> 10:24 PM) Bingo. I really think an extended Buehrle could fetch that. But you know it will be Lowrie and some A ball reliever who throws hard.

Red Sox Interested in Buehrle?
QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Jun 24, 2007 -> 10:22 PM) Ellsbury + Bowden and I will get wood I hate trade proposals on message boards, but if you give Buehrle the negotiating window, then that's the type of trade we should be looking at.
-
Red Sox Interested in Buehrle?
I have a bad feeling that Lowrie would be the main guy in any trade. There's not a chance in hell you consider this trade unless Buchholz or Ellsbury is the main person in it.

Where are people seeing anything about the Boston radio reports?

Red Sox Interested in Buehrle?
QUOTE(Heads22 @ Jun 24, 2007 -> 10:08 PM) Ellsbury is leading off for the PawSox. I'll keep an eye to see if the lineup holds. No way they'd play him if they were actively negotiating today.

Red Sox Interested in Buehrle?
If you allow Buehrle to sign with the Red Sox right now, you better get a good package in return. I get so fearful with KW when it comes to trading for prospects. QUOTE(Greg The Bull Luzinski @ Jun 24, 2007 -> 10:07 PM) Another thing I would hate about trading Buehrle to Boston is having to face Buehrle in the playoffs in future season, assuming the White Sox make the playoffs again in my life time. Am I the only one that things Buehrle would PWN a good hitting Sox team. I wish we could get a good package from an NL team. Come on Braves!!! The last thing to worry about is how we'd match up with someone in the playoffs.

And that's pretty much a White Sox season...
QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Jun 24, 2007 -> 09:44 PM) WHY? What has this kid ever done at any level (outside of 20 innings in the Mexican League) to warrant the rope that you people give him? His minor league numbers are mediocre to bad. He was put on Waivers in the middle of the '05 season about the same time we (re)claimed Ryan Wing. We found room for Wing, but not Masset. Then 18-20 months later, despite more mediocre-to-s***ty production, Masset is viewed by many (for reasons unknown) as a future starter and a centerpiece to the future of the club. Masset sucks. just like the other guys we've claimed since Jenks; Sierra, Wing, Tucker, all garbage. They need to send him to the minors to see if he can become a starter. It's pathetic he's been on the major league roster as long as he has been.
