White Sox vs. Devil Rays, 5/25/07 (W)
QUOTE(caulfield12 @ May 26, 2007 -> 12:35 AM) When I saw Terrero and Mackowiak in the OF together, I knew we were in trouble...although Rob did make a nice play in the first inning, we've reverted back to our offensive stupor apparently, with the main difference being Thome now on base when we fail. We desperately need to acquire another outfielder, and give up on waiting for Pods to return.

White Sox vs. Devil Rays, 5/25/07 (W)
QUOTE(caulfield12 @ May 26, 2007 -> 12:33 AM) Benji Molina would have made it, anyone could have just stayed there and not even moved. It's sad to hear Hawk make excuses for the play. Crede got himself off-balanced. It seems like if our 3-4-5 can't contribute tonight, our offense will have no chance.

Well done Gold Glover. Continuing your pathetic season.

Buehrle struggling w/ his command.

Jermaine had a great pitch to make it 3-0 on, but popped it up. Iguchi's back to being worthless.

Nice defensive plays....but it looks like Mackowiak hyperextended something.

Who the hell knows what Dukes will do if he's hit. However, if he does charge the mound, I don't like Buehrle's chances. Dukes is a crazy dude, and why even bother hitting him? It made no sense when we hit Delmon last year, and it makes no sense to do it right now.

Contreras / Danks Flip
QUOTE(elrockinMT @ May 25, 2007 -> 09:11 PM) I think too much is made of the opposing pitcher (s). Our pitchers just have to go out and do their best job everytimer and not worry about whether it's a rookie facing someone like Santana, or another good one. That's true for everyone besides Santana and Sabathia. When we face those guys, the team seems defeated before they step on the field.

QUOTE(chimpy2121 @ May 25, 2007 -> 10:59 PM) Piece of s*** Dukes is getting the start in CF today for the Rays according to yahoo. I hope Ozzie doesn't try to be the patroller of baseball and decide to plunk him like he did Delmon Young last year.

QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ May 25, 2007 -> 10:42 PM) ...waiting for your lineup prediction with Konerko now out. If Crede is out, we're going to be starting three bench players. Uck. Prediction is: Erstad (1b), Cintron (2b), Thome, Dye, AJP, Crede, Mackowiak, Uribe, Terrero I didn't like our chances tonight even prior to PK being out of the lineup.

It seems impossible to get all of our guys in the lineup together.

Not sure from when, but DJ definitely said that in the last week.

QUOTE(santo=dorf @ May 24, 2007 -> 09:22 PM) Soxtalk offseason favorites Ervin Santana (my God does he suck) and Michael Young should've been on the list. Chone Figgins is worse than everyone else on that list. It's funny how overrated some people are on this site, especially anyone with the Angels, as well as Anthony Reyes.

No way in hell should Jamar Smith be allowed to play another second with the Illini.

Rick Morrisey's Column
QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ May 24, 2007 -> 06:36 PM) I know what Morissey is getting at here, but there is one thing that is bothering me about this. Some of the things that he is talking about, are things that deserve attention. For instance, tell me if you punch a co-worker at any other job, would you still be around? Hell no. Why are baseball players special? Its one thing to get on them for what they say, but is quite acceptable for what they do. Its the samething for "youthful indiscressions". How many of you have jobs where you could get busted for using speed on the job, and they wouldn't say or do anything about it, and in fact not tell anyone about your crime? How many jobs could you threaten your wife and kids lives, and they would just make you have a paid suspension? Please. How many jobs could the manager of the organization call someone a f*g or swear on live radio and still have their job?

2007 AL Central Catch-All Thread
QUOTE(BigSqwert @ May 24, 2007 -> 06:50 PM) Yeah but can he grind like our leadoff hitter? Scary how good the leadoff hitters for the Tigers and Indians are going to be for the next 10 years. There's no doubt in my mind that the only chance the Sox have to make the playoffs is via the Wild Card. With that in mind, I think the Indians and Yankees are our biggest competitors.

2007 AL Central Catch-All Thread
The Tigers 1-5 in their batting order = sensational. Granderson's on pace to have quite the extra base hit line this year. 35-15-25 isn't out of the question.

They're back!
QUOTE(Jordan4life_2007 @ May 24, 2007 -> 05:16 AM) I had us losing this one before the game started. We're incapable of sweeping a team right now. On Comcast, they said that's 6 straight times we've failed to sweep a team after winning the first two games. Also, I hope I didn't understand this right, but Ozzie said he put Garland back on the mound for the 7th so that he could retire one hitter and leave with confidence. I guess retiring the side in order during the 6th inning lowered Garland's confidence.

LOST! thread
I'm shocked people were able to acquire 100 pct authentic spoilers a week ago for this episode.

They're back!
QUOTE(Iguchicago @ May 24, 2007 -> 04:09 AM) You guys would still call Ozzie an idiot if he took Garland out before the 7th, and a reliever gave up those runs. It's not like our pen has been dominating lately. Go back in look in the game thread....people were questioning why Garland was starting that inning well before we got into trouble. I can't imagine how someone watching the game tonight would have thought putting Garland back on the mound for the 7th was a good idea.

They're back!
QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ May 24, 2007 -> 03:27 AM) You mean that Pablo is not the best bat to come off the bench with the bases loaded. That, letting Garland start the 7th, and letting Erstad face a tough lefty were mind-boggling managerial decisions. Erstad is worse than most pitchers against LHP.

They're back!
Bad offense, horrible base running, and terrible managing....a recipe for a loss.

White Sox vs. A's, 5/23/2007 (L)
QUOTE(Brian @ May 24, 2007 -> 02:48 AM) Biggest LOL tonight was Hawk saying Willie Harris had the best range of any 2B he has seen. I guess we never knew how blessed we were to witness the three best 2B in terms of range in succession when we saw Durham, Harris, and Alomar.

Oh Hawk: a bad break = guys mistiming his jump and bad base running?

QUOTE(Reddy @ May 24, 2007 -> 02:44 AM) except that that was well hit... just like his first at bat. things will start falling eventually. His first out was hard hit. The rest have been lazy fly balls. He's just not getting anything behind his swings.
