  1. Holy cow, who are these guys? Not so sure Mackowiak should have been sent, but it worked out.
  2. Hawk's already talked of Dwight Evans and Ted Williams tonight. Can Catfish and Al Kaline be far behind? That definitely looked like strike 3. This umpire has a very tiny zone, which will really help the patient A's. Ugh....Danks doesn't have good offspeed stuff so far tonight. Needs to throw more curves and less change-ups.
  3. QUOTE(Brian @ May 23, 2007 -> 12:28 AM) Really? I though it was gonna be farther than it was. Sarcasm.....thought it would go farther also.
  4. I couldn't tell if Dye hit that hard enough to get out. I love having Thome back!
  5. Pretty poor attempt by AJ there. Very nice! Hopefully the offense shows some patience against Lewis.
  6. Same lineup as last night for the Sox.
  7. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ May 22, 2007 -> 10:42 PM) I'm pretty sure that's wrong. I remember when he hit 102, and DJ and Hawk said something like "102?!" as the pitch was caught by the catcher. The pitch that was hit for a double to RF was the next pitch, or a few pitches later. Richie Sexson was at the plate, and we threw out Ichiro at home to preserve the lead and won that game. It might be the last time we threw someone out at home off of a relay.
  8. QUOTE(southsida86 @ May 22, 2007 -> 10:31 PM) Speaking of velocity, Jose and Javy have been down this year too. Jose has been 88-91 most of the time and Javy has been 89-92. both were mid 90s last year. I'm kind of worried about Javy, but not as much about Jose given his age. Neither of them was close to being in the mid 90s during the 2nd half of last year. At the most, both have lost about 2 mph consistently on their fastball. Same goes with Jenks and Aardsma.
  9. Erstad had some clutch hits tonight....the balance in the offense seems so much better with AJ batting 6th or 7th instead of 3rd. Logan with another big out.....but please stop letting him face righties!
  10. Nice catch by Terrero there battling the lights.
  11. Well....this is just super. Jenks got nothing tonight, as he's not following-thru.
  12. Wow....this is ugly. Shocked he didn't throw the 2-2 hook, as that's been his out pitch.
  13. QUOTE(SoxAce @ May 22, 2007 -> 03:04 AM) I call bulls***. s***, I obviously meant righties. I trust Logan against lefties more than anyone on the team.
  14. QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ May 22, 2007 -> 03:00 AM) Ok, then boone wasn't brought in to face a righty, fathom. I don't know swisher's career splits, however. They were saying Swisher hits for a better average against lefties. It's not so much how the hitters from that side.....it's just that Boone doesn't have the type of stuff that will fool lefties.
  15. Nice fastball by Logan there. And yes, this is getting ridiculous QUOTE(Heads22 @ May 22, 2007 -> 02:53 AM) Coulda used that one batter earlier Boone. Boone should be purely used to face lefties. No clue in the world why he was allowed to face Swisher.
  16. Is Ozzie an idiot? Why bring in Logan to face a righty hitter?
  17. Wow, that was beautiful by Erstad. The offensive approach over the last week has been much more focused.
  18. QUOTE(Heads22 @ May 22, 2007 -> 01:06 AM) No thank you. Yeah, the more I think about it, the more I'm against it. Lidge has to be close to a big payday soon.
  19. I keep checking out the Reds game to see if hopefully Freel or Griffey Jr. get pulled for no reason.
  20. QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ May 22, 2007 -> 12:31 AM) Hey, quick watching the game and find out why Anderson was removed. No clue on this one, sorry
  21. QUOTE(RockRaines @ May 22, 2007 -> 12:10 AM) Im pretty sure the Everett comment was a joke. Brad lidge perhaps? Lidge and Burke for Crede and Anderson. I'd like to see that deal, even though I'm sure many on here would hate it.
  22. How close was Thome's out to being a homer?
  23. QUOTE(Greg The Bull Luzinski @ May 21, 2007 -> 11:32 PM) I get concerned when Uribe goes to his home country. I would hate to see them try to pin some new or same old BS charges on him for no good reason and force him to stay. I think his mom lives in Chicago
  24. QUOTE(knightni @ May 21, 2007 -> 11:23 PM) I don't think Fields is much better defensively at 3rd than Ozuna is. Plus he hits the ball less. Ozuna has a .463 OPS against RHP this year. It's scary that he has the same amount of at-bats against RHP as he does against LHP this year. He really should be the last man off of our bench....not the first.
  25. QUOTE(MHizzle85 @ May 21, 2007 -> 11:17 PM) per Reifert: Erstad. CF Iguchi, 2B Thome. DH Dye, RF PK, 1B AJ, C Ozuna, 3B Mack, LF Cintron, ss Even with Thome's return, that bottom of the lineup is horrible. Not exactly a strong defensive left side of the infield. If Crede's going to be out more than 3 or 4 games, we need to call up Fields.
