Is Garland pitching as bad as gameday makes it look?

QUOTE(RME JICO @ May 30, 2007 -> 03:45 PM) Craig Wilson 1-8, 5 K's in his first two games in Charlotte. Not looking good. I liked the signing initially, but I heard some horror stories about Craig Wilson's swing last night coming from the Braves AAA scout.

QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ May 30, 2007 -> 04:33 AM) Why isnt this f***er on the DL getting better, instead of being up and hitting like he cant hit. Give him 15 days and lets see if his finger gets better. There's an excuse for everyone. Like you said, if they can't play at a major league level, then send their ass to the DL or minors.

Wow, that was a fantastic finish in Mets game. Thanks JD for telling us to turn it to ESPN.

QUOTE(briguy27 @ May 30, 2007 -> 02:54 AM) hopefully cintron right in the elbow and breaks it and is out for the year so i never have to see his retarded @$$ on a major league diamond until 2008 Classless post, especially after the family stuff he's dealing with.

QUOTE(JDsDirtySox @ May 30, 2007 -> 02:53 AM) Wanna see something fun... turn to ESPN to watch Jose Reyes run the bases as the tying run in extra innings. It's amazing how many exciting, young players there are in the game right now. Guys like Sizemore, Reyes, and Granderson are really fun to watch as leadoff hitters.

QUOTE(santo=dorf @ May 30, 2007 -> 02:52 AM) Honestly, no. I can't remember an offseason in which I disagreed with so many moves. Pods has been a waste of money. Erstad is being overused. Our bullpen is young, cheap, and throws hard, but they are too inconsistent and I don't think Ozzie is using them to the best of his ability. The Garcia trade is not helping our major league team right now. What's Vazquez's motivation to pitch well? Crede is back to being a bottom of the league third baseman (should've sold high like a lot of us were asking for.) That's all I can think of off the top of my head. Great post....I know that you don't complain about things just to do b****.

QUOTE(briguy27 @ May 30, 2007 -> 02:51 AM) yep. i can not believe i wasted $300 to see the sox in pittsburgh and KC this year. At least you'll see a 2nd place team.

QUOTE(Soxfest @ May 30, 2007 -> 02:50 AM) I want KW to give the speech again how everyone outside Chicago gets how he put team together for 2007 and how stupid we all are again! No one outside of Chicago knew what he was doing. There's a reason BP predicted this to be a 73 win team.

Dewon Day had more range on the right side of the field when he was playing Little League. I want him to do well....but good grief, a pitcher with a 1.50 WHIP in AA should never see a major league field. I know I'm extremely pessimistic, but this talent level we're putting on the field is embarrassing as hell.

QUOTE(Dick Allen @ May 30, 2007 -> 02:46 AM) Are the Sox in 4th place yet? KW is the Executive of the Year, and the manager of the year should be renamed the Ozzie Guillen award. This team is put together all wrong. Shocking, isn't it, after this last offseason?

QUOTE(santo=dorf @ May 30, 2007 -> 02:41 AM) A hitter is still more likely to get twice as many PA's against RHP than LHP even in this divison. Oh, of course. I guess I should take into consideration that Morneau doesn't have to face Santana. If Thome got to face Buehrle more and not Santana, then I'm sure his lefty numbers would go up.

Haha....just laugh! Think of better days with Chad Qualls coming into the 7th inning with 2 outs and the bases loaded.

QUOTE(winninguglyin83 @ May 30, 2007 -> 02:28 AM) boof is an average big-league pitcher who ain't one bit afraid of us. If he's average, then we have an average to below average pitching staff.

White Sox vs. Twins, 5/29/07 (L)
Morneau's better against lefty pitchers, which is very important in our division.

Outside of that Colby Lewis game, Thome's been pretty crappy since he returned.

QUOTE(Soxfest @ May 30, 2007 -> 02:12 AM) Masset sucks tonight dam. He's been s***ty out of the bullpen this year. Might as well send him to AAA and make him a starter and see if he can fill one of the holes we'll have next year.

QUOTE(caulfield12 @ May 30, 2007 -> 02:12 AM) is this recent? do you have a link? i was out of town and didn't have a computer the last 3 games... Who is Greg Miller? No link, but it came out a week or so before the Ozzie/North debacle.

QUOTE(santo=dorf @ May 30, 2007 -> 02:11 AM) I don't recall any direct stories linking the Sox to Kendall before the 2005 season (only after we traded Olivo in 2004 there were rumors) and at the time he looked like a solid pickup with his OBP. Hell, Jason Kendall is currently the highest paid player on the Pirates roster. I remember the Greg Miller, Edwin Jackson, Odalis Perez, and Matt Clement kool aid flowing on this board too. Hell, we even had some people supporting Cristian Guzman. :o Ha, that's hillarious about Kendall and the Pirates. I remember everyone sitting around watching Comcast on the night Clement was supposed to decide, and there were "rumors" that he was going to give the Sox a hometown discount (which was just about the dumbest rational ever).

QUOTE(Soxfest @ May 30, 2007 -> 02:02 AM) This team tuned Guillen out since August of 2006 it is obvious to see on a day to day basis! I think there was a lot more to that article on mlb.com about the Sox having some issues with Ozzie. Articles like that aren't written for no reason.

QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ May 30, 2007 -> 02:03 AM) I remember how everybody said KW was a horrible GM heading into 2005. Maybe they were right, and 2005 was an abberation. Everything fell into place for him during that offseason. The only competition for AJP was Tampa, and neither the Red Sox/Yankees went after Iguchi. As DA always talks about on here, a lot of guys that KW initially wanted went elsewhere and sucked, like Clement and Kendall.
