White Sox loser
QUOTE(RockRaines @ May 2, 2007 -> 09:46 PM) We ruin another good outing by the 21 year old rookie. The main thing to look forward to the rest of this year if we continue to suck is the development of Danks. That at least gives us something to look forward to every 5th game.

QUOTE(Palehosefan @ May 2, 2007 -> 09:47 PM) Ozzie said he would quit if we aren't winning, and we are 12-13 now. It's time for him to honor his loudmouthed word, and take Walker with him. Remember, everyone used to say the team would never look heartless along as Ozzie's in charge. What's our record again since the ASB of last year? I have to believe we have the worst record in the AL Central during that time.

We should always do a hit-and-run with Mackowiak. All he does is hit groundes with runners on bases. I hope KW is proud of this s***ty team he assembled.

White Sox vs. Mariners, 5/2/07 (L)
At least we're consistent....back-to-back games of a hitter taking a called 3rd strike with the tying run on base in top of the 8th. Pods would be proud!

QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ May 2, 2007 -> 09:33 PM) At this rate, probably 6 games. If we're lucky. Well, the Tigers are now getting Sheffield going. They have quite an impressive 2-3-4-5 heading into the summer.

QUOTE(Y2HH @ May 2, 2007 -> 09:32 PM) This offense is beyond sad, with or without Thome and Pods. This team isn't even fun to watch anymore. Which is why I stopped...I simply look up our latest 1 run offensive showing loss after the game rather than spending time watching 9 innings of suck. This is the first time I'm tossing my hat into to "we need a new hitting coach" hat. We just need something to shake things up here...every players approach is horrid. Period. In what has to be a defense mechanism, this might be the most opportune time for the Sox to be sellers at the deadline in the last 5 years or so.

AJ's act has grown old. Again, great thing we were testing out Toby at 1B.

QUOTE(TheOcho @ May 2, 2007 -> 09:27 PM) Kenny has been silent for too long. He needs to do something or say something before this season goes farther into the hole. Maybe not be silent during the offseason?

QUOTE(RockRaines @ May 2, 2007 -> 09:26 PM) If we had pitching like this in the 2nd half of last season, we make the playoffs. Possibly, but it's not like our offense was going nuts during the 2nd half of last year. I respect your opinion though, and it's interesting to see you calling for someone's head right now.

Uribe starts off the year well, and even he is down below .225 now. I never thought I'd see the day where the Mariners lineup looks twice as good as the Sox's does.

White Sox vs. Mariners, 5/2/07 (L)
I'm shocked that our only runs at this ball park only scored via the homer. We've always talked about the homer or nothing approach, but it really is amazing to see this year.

QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ May 2, 2007 -> 09:20 PM) 21 year old, throwing a lot of strikes with out pinpoint control will give up homers. It happens. He is attacking the zone, and not backing down. He will learn control. In a perfect world he would of had more time in the minors to refine his craft. But he gives us the best chance to win in the 5th starter. And shows a heart of gold, and plus stuff. Yep, which is why you want to see him maybe develop more cut or sink to his fastball as he matures.

QUOTE(TheOcho @ May 2, 2007 -> 09:19 PM) I'm willing to wait another 80 or so years. I would like to enjoy good baseball in the wait tho... and this is not good baseball. I really hope that come July, I'm not in root against Cubs mode compared to watching every second of the Sox game. We desperately need to find a way to come back from this road trip still within 5 games.

Is Aardsma in the doghouse? Seems like he's being used a lot less frequently. I hate seeing MacDougal on the mound two straight games, especially in trailing situations. I'm a big fan of MacDougal's, but you have to be careful with him.

QUOTE(RockRaines @ May 2, 2007 -> 09:14 PM) Well, we were one of the best offensive teams in the league. We were pretty awful during the 2nd half of last year.

QUOTE(Heads22 @ May 2, 2007 -> 09:12 PM) God I hate our team right now. We're getting what we deserve for bringing back this aging offense almost in tact from last year.

White Sox vs. Mariners, 5/2/07 (L)
Gotta keep the ball in the park. Looks like he's pitched great, but the main negative with Danks so far is his homer ratio. Oh well, the more we lose, the more heat that will come onto KW for neglecting the 2007 Sox.

QUOTE(Jenks Heat @ May 2, 2007 -> 09:06 PM) Crede - broken bat pop up to first Sweeney - broken bat dribbler He might break 100 bats if he played all year. He's nowhere near strong enough for this level right now.
-
White Sox vs. Mariners, 5/2/07 (L)
How many times has Crede popped up this year? Also, it's a sad statement when Ryan Sweeney is our best hitting prospect.

QUOTE(RockRaines @ May 2, 2007 -> 09:00 PM) its pathetic when the cubs offense looks head and shoulders better than ours. It's amazing what spending money on upgrading your offense can do for your talent level.

Iguchi is 2 for his last 20. This offense is so f***ing bad. AJP should be hitting 8th, not 3rd.

How far were the homers, and on what type of pitch did Guillen homer on?

QUOTE(Jenks Heat @ May 2, 2007 -> 08:00 PM) Mack is not an everyday player. Don't worry, Pods is a quick healer. He'll only be out another month. I think Barbaro heals faster than Pods.

The next big Juice scandal
QUOTE(Steve9347 @ May 2, 2007 -> 07:28 PM) Good idea, since hte last person posting on soxtalk that kind of bulls*** made it a national story... Yep, I'm keeping this to myself until it becomes public. When the names from this story are released, I'll simply say yes those are the guys I was referring to or they aren't.
