QUOTE(RockRaines @ Apr 11, 2007 -> 08:25 PM) Him and Bobby Crosby Chavez
-
QUOTE(RockRaines @ Apr 11, 2007 -> 08:24 PM) They are. Konerko is one of the best hitters in the game today and is not past his prime yet. And he just cannot make contact with the ball at all. They should come around, lets hope its soon. Pk is the one I'm the least concerned about. He's just feeling for the ball right now, and his head is all screwed up. Dye and Crede are the ones who seem too stiff at the plate.
-
QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Apr 11, 2007 -> 08:23 PM) Bobby Kielty strikes out looking quickly Kielty seems not nearly as strong as he was about 3-4 years ago. I wonder why?
-
QUOTE(DrunkBomber @ Apr 11, 2007 -> 08:21 PM) Remember when we had the scariest 3-4-5 in baseball... Let's hope they're just slumping and not beginning to show their age.
-
Crede and Konerko look so unconfident at the plate lately.
-
QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Apr 11, 2007 -> 08:16 PM) Can't we give some folks a little more than 7 games to determine how they're going to perform for the whole season? But people so want to compare the team to either 2004 or 2005.
-
QUOTE(caulfield12 @ Apr 11, 2007 -> 08:17 PM) Is Brian leading baseball over the last two seasons in least pitches seen per at bat? AJP laughs at that accusation.
-
QUOTE(Wedge @ Apr 11, 2007 -> 08:16 PM) What are the right reasons? If the 2004 team had any pitching, that would have been a playoff team easily. I'll gladly take back Carlos Lee for Pods, and take my chances with the homer or nothing approach with quality pitching.
-
QUOTE(Jimbo @ Apr 11, 2007 -> 08:14 PM) you can candycoat this any way you want....our team, which has had awesome pitching, cant hit worth s***. We look like the 2004 sox, homerun or naught The 2004 offense is so maligned for so many wrong reasons.
-
QUOTE(BearSox @ Apr 11, 2007 -> 07:42 PM) And it would have taken a perfect throw to have gotten Bradley at the plate. And it was actually a decent throw by Pods. But he threw it too high, obviously. Pods got to the ball quick, and got rid of the ball quickly as well, and he put some good 'umpf' on it as well. The chances that either BA or Erstad throwing out Bradley aren't that great, IMO. Oh come on now. That's like saying Rex's interception in the Super Bowl wasn't a terrible throw, he just overthrew Moose.
-
QUOTE(Capn12 @ Apr 11, 2007 -> 08:10 PM) For being a team that doesn't hit that well, Oakland surely has a great approach against us in this series....I wish our middle of the order could have the same. Their offense has sucked massively this series up until the first inning today.
-
QUOTE(caulfield12 @ Apr 11, 2007 -> 08:08 PM) If we trade away 1/5th of our team, he might move up to 3 or 4. It's all about who we have to replace him and the games in which we need a righty hitting catcher. I almost forgot that how Hall got hurt. Kinda funny that Ozzie then said last night that he didn't want to put Erstad in LF because he didn't want to switch him from CF.
-
QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Apr 11, 2007 -> 08:05 PM) yes It's comical how people didn't think it was a big deal he'd be out.
-
QUOTE(RockRaines @ Apr 11, 2007 -> 08:06 PM) He had the best chance of anyone, hes the best player on the team right now. Not against LHP
-
Thanks Ozzie for sitting Pablo today.
-
QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Apr 11, 2007 -> 08:04 PM) I never knew I could miss a player that never has played a major league game for "my" team. Are you speaking about Toby? He might be the 5th or 6th most important player on the team this year.
-
QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Apr 11, 2007 -> 08:02 PM) Looks like Tad has one of his fingers tapped up. Could be the reason for the two days off. It is, he jammed them a few days ago. QUOTE(Hideaway Lights @ Apr 11, 2007 -> 08:03 PM) you have got to be s***ting me What happened?
-
QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Apr 11, 2007 -> 08:01 PM) What's wrong with Crede to start this season? Bah. Popping everything up. He's opening up so much that nearly every swing is going to result in a weakly hit ball to right field.
-
QUOTE(TitoMB345 @ Apr 11, 2007 -> 07:56 PM) Farmer just said something about "If Jenks had thrown the fastball that game would have been over." Jenks doesn't have a "fast"ball anymore. No, it's true. He had Walker sitting on the curve. Horrific pitch selection.
-
QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Apr 11, 2007 -> 07:55 PM) Yeah, Greg Maddux has spent the last 20 years being shelled. Maddux has a different strike zone than any other pitcher in history.
-
QUOTE(Capn12 @ Apr 11, 2007 -> 07:53 PM) GL getting that big contract after this year MB. Thru one week, we can all be thankful we didn't hand out any big extensions besides Vazquez (even though it's way too early to tell anything).
-
QUOTE(G&T @ Apr 11, 2007 -> 07:52 PM) This is ridiculous. MB is not pitching bad, the A's are hitting it from the shoulders to the shoes. It's what happens when you don't have overwhelming stuff.
-
How did Anderson mess up that play? I'm convinced we would have lost easily in game 3 of this year if Buehrle had stayed in the game. Oh well....this is why you have to capitalize on games in which you lead in the 9th.
-
QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Apr 11, 2007 -> 07:49 PM) Wait is it 1-0 Oakland? Gameday says no score with one out and runners on the corners... Just Jimbo being pessimistic.
-
QUOTE(Sox It To Em @ Apr 11, 2007 -> 07:46 PM) It's going to be a long day. Oh ya....Buehrle is always a disaster in Oakland.
