White Sox vs. Angels, 4/29/07 (L)
QUOTE(Greg The Bull Luzinski @ Apr 29, 2007 -> 07:12 PM) Since Erstad is our best hitter right now (gasp), why not bat him third and put one of the lesser evils in the lead off spot, like Iguchi, Uribe (he's like our third best hitter right now), or Pablo. I am not particularly fond of the idea, but something needs to be done to shake things up. Something needs to be done, as the PK/AJP/Dye combo won't work.

QUOTE(maggsmaggs @ Apr 29, 2007 -> 07:08 PM) Man, we are so horrible right now at the plate. can't move runners over, not hitting line drives, no walking, its getting down right sad. We have a guy that all he does is roll over and hit grounders to the right side, yet we have him square around to bunt. The fact Ozzie said he's going to play more smallball now with Thome out is a scary thought. Crede with an out in the air for the 500th time this season. Thankfully we didn't give him a new contract.

Shades of last year where batters can just plant their feet and swing as hard as they want against Buehrle's pitches. He's got to get that change-up low and away working again. Well, you won't see a worse AB than that by AJP. The fact he even tried to bunt in that position is so pathetic. I don't give a s*** about the L/R stuff....get him the f*** out of the 4th spot.

Buehrle got away with the high pitches as they were swinging past it earlier. Now, they're teeing off on these pitches.

Just pathetic....might want to keep the ball outside a little AJ. We suck

Good grief Buehrle....way to keep the momentum going.

So, does Sweeney get down the line faster than anyone else on the team?

QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Apr 29, 2007 -> 06:53 PM) Ersty is definitely our best hitter at the moment. Without a doubt, him and Dye give us the best ABs.

Erstad!!!! Grandma Erstad just got a semi.

When they talk about someone's career stats against a pitcher, do they not include postseason games?

Congrats to Cintron for the hit. Kinda funny Hawk said he had that base stolen, as it looked like he had a terrible jump.

QUOTE(EvilJester99 @ Apr 29, 2007 -> 06:37 PM) Offense is looking stellar so far... yikes And it's not like we're hitting into tough luck. AJP in the 4 spot is sickening.

These at-bats are just amazing.

Buehrle's got a great high fastball going.

Wow, more disappointing plays by our infield. With such a slow runner at the plate, Crede played that way too quickly.

I wonder how many times this year Erstad has grounded out to the 2nd baseman and Konerko has struck out in the same inning?

White Sox vs. Angels, 4/29/07 (L)
So where does this lineup rank on the worst Sox lineup's over the last 5 years?

Thanks Erstad, I missed those.

Let's hope their error in judgment by AJP doesn't haunt us. Nasty pitch by Buehrle there.

QUOTE(hitlesswonder @ Apr 29, 2007 -> 06:10 PM) Sort of amazing that Anderson is actually only the 3rd worst hitter on the team behind Molina and Cintron.... We have the worst bench in baseball so far this year.

Ordonez is fantastic against Santana. Cintron continues to be absolutely worthless. I don't understand why Ozzie keeps giving Iguchi days off against tough RHP.

Sweeney Called Up
QUOTE(Heads22 @ Apr 29, 2007 -> 05:26 PM) I all but figured he was the guy after not playing for Charlotte yesterday. The funny thing is that the press box wasn't notified he got scratched, so he was announced as the hitter. However, it was Andy Gonzalez at the plate. I know they look similar and all.

Erstad/Anderson MEGAThread
QUOTE(caulfield12 @ Apr 28, 2007 -> 10:20 AM) http://www.suntimes.com/sports/baseball/wh...-ssep28.article Tons of great quotes for Ozzie haters to sink their teeth into...since many feel that BA won the job in ST. It scares me that Ozzie said Terrero is playing well in AAA. Outside of the first few games, he has to be hitting about .100 with an OBP of less than that possibly.

4/27 Games
QUOTE(dasox24 @ Apr 28, 2007 -> 11:40 PM) He's one player I really could see KW overpaying for. No way we win a bidding war for ARod. I think it's more likely if we get in a bidding war it would be for Zambrano or in 2008 for Santana.

Wanted: Designated Hitter
QUOTE(CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Apr 29, 2007 -> 03:19 AM) Yes, why do u have reason to belive otherwise besides pessimism ? Yeah, because 36 year old power hitters always recover right away from rib cage injuries. Thome swings so hard that this has all the makings of a lingering injury. QUOTE(BobDylan @ Apr 29, 2007 -> 03:31 AM) Eduardo Perez? The same guy with 79 career jacks, a .247 career batting average .326 OBP and .431 slugging? Enlighten me guys, how is this guy going to help the White Sox in any shape or form? This guy is less an offensive threat than ANYONE on the White Sox -- even Darrin Erstad. His career high in RBI's in 52. 52! Is this really the best option we've come up with? He's a beast against LHP, something we're lacking.
