  1. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ May 2, 2007 -> 04:26 AM) Why the in the world would AJ setup, low and in on a lefty. Thats their natural swing zone. Especially Ibanez. AJ's pitch calling is just awful. I can't wait for Sexson to do some more damage tomorrow on these first pitch fastballs.
  2. QUOTE(mr_genius @ May 2, 2007 -> 04:26 AM) lol how is that ozzie's fault? Vazquez should have never started the inning. That's vintage Ozzie from last year where he'd leave his starter in to start an inning late in the game where there was realistically no reason for them to be out there. I can't even start to count the amount of times a pitcher went from having a line of 6 innings, 3 runs to 6.1 innings, 5 runs.
  3. f*** you Ozzie and AJP. Another 0-2 hit against the Sox in a big situation.
  4. QUOTE(mr_genius @ May 2, 2007 -> 04:22 AM) you would have both k'd I could confidently state I could foul off the pitch Beltre hit for a single in the 4th inning.
  5. QUOTE(striker62704 @ May 2, 2007 -> 04:20 AM) I hate Ozzie and his righty vs. righty, lefty vs. lefty pitching matchups, and his right vs. lefty, lefty vs. righty batting matchups. That's not how it works ozzie. Get a f398ing clue. In a sac fly situation, you always want to bring in the pitcher with the 94 mph straight high fastball. So where did Thornton's 97 mph fastball go?
  6. QUOTE(Soxfest @ May 2, 2007 -> 04:18 AM) Beltre 3-4 what a joke. You and I would have two hits on the hangers he got tonight.
  7. QUOTE(Capn12 @ May 2, 2007 -> 04:18 AM) Comical...I don't know what to say about this team anymore. Its sad to see the batting averages of the guys in the lineup. It's simple, just say that this team suck right now. I know I'm the pessimist one, but I have no confidence that this team can win games. The offensive talent level is horrific right now. This goes against everything I believe in, but the 2005 WS DVD might get a viewing tonight.
  8. I was more confident last year for the sole reason that I thought Contreras was a stud at the beginning of last year. Now, he's a shell of his former self, and I'm not sure how he's going to get his ERA under 5 with a 90 mph fastball and no forkball.
  9. My lineup prediction is as follows for tomorrow: Erstad (1B), Iguchi, Dye, AJ, Crede, Mackowiak, Uribe, Cintron, Sweeney
  10. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ May 2, 2007 -> 04:10 AM) Hawk, that pitch is clearly low. He might get "fun nuts" on this road trip as it goes how it seems it might.
  11. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ May 2, 2007 -> 04:09 AM) You have to give Burke a lot of credit for sticking it out. He's 35 and this is the first season he was on the major league roster on opening day. He's still a .333 career hitter in the majors. Hey Hawk, that pitch wasn't even close to the others.
  12. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ May 2, 2007 -> 04:08 AM) It may have been a little low, but he's doing you a favor throwing a low fastball down the heart of the plate. JD could have hit that ball hard if he wasn't focused on hitting it into the LF upper deck. Dye's trying to pull everything. He had such great oppo field power last year. Have there been any opposite field homers by the Sox so far this year?
  13. Javy stays out there....can't get the win if you're not still on the mound.
  14. How did this team go from being so good around this time last year to so f***ing bad right now? This is why you don't trade veteran players for minor leaguers 2 years away from the majors (unless you're in rebuilding mode).
  15. Pathetic AB Jermaine. He's had too many ABs this year where he chased the 3-1 and looked bad on the full count. At least he'll be happy in Texas next year.
  16. Ha, that pitch was over his head.
  17. Wow, interesting idea of throwing a first pitch breaking ball to a power hitter looking to drive the ball.
  18. QUOTE(SoxAce @ May 2, 2007 -> 04:03 AM) This is why Tizzle is asking for more power arms. The only thing he's doing is throwing 96+ gas by hitters. If he makes a mistake, percentage wise, he'll get away with it. You mean 93 mph on the Sox then?
  19. Hit a bomb here Dye, it's our only chance to win.
  20. Cintron continues his horrible play. If we had any other back-up SS, Cintron would be a candidate for our annual DFA.
  21. Most teams have at least one power guy they can bring off the bench. We have to have the worst bench in baseball this year.
  22. Ugh, horrific AB by Erstad. Man, the talent is just oozing for us right now.
  23. There's also a talent issue going on right now. We're simply not designed to hit LHP, and in this division, that's a death sentence.
  24. We now have a 4 game consecutive streak of Hawk mentioning the 67 season. I won't be able to watch the game tomorrow, but will someone please monitor this?
  25. QUOTE(TitoMB345 @ May 2, 2007 -> 03:48 AM) Wow, our team f***ing BLOWS right now. Have a good year, Cleveland. We're dropping the fight. Our hitting is going to have to pick it up, because I just looked at the team batting average page, and we've faced basically bad hitting teams all season so far.
