  1. Javy with little feel for his offspeed pitches so far.
  2. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Apr 13, 2007 -> 11:25 PM) I REALLY wish we had an arm in LF. No kidding....it's such a liability for this team. At least it never matters.
  3. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Apr 13, 2007 -> 11:21 PM) I didn't know we were playing the f***ing Twins. What a piece of s*** hit I miss the offense of the Twins and A's already.
  4. QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Apr 13, 2007 -> 11:22 PM) It says Pods grounded out to the pitcher. Bad bunt attempt? Nah, he fouled off the first pitch of the game when bunting. He chased strike 2, and then hit a rocket 8 hopper back to the pitcher.
  5. Ugh....terrible feel to this game. I'll be thrilled if we keep them to less than 3 runs this inning.
  6. 3-0 foul out to the catcher? Nice to see the 3-4-5 keep up their amazing at-bats. This game's off to an ominous start. Dye is so bad in the outfield right now....he needs to become a DH for his next team.
  7. QUOTE(GarlandFan20 @ Apr 13, 2007 -> 12:33 AM) I really don't like Brendan Donnelly Neither does anyone associated with the game of baseball.
  8. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Apr 12, 2007 -> 11:37 PM) Is this some personal stuff you know about him? I've never heard one positive thing about him off the field. Him whole incident at that Ducky store tells you all you need to know about him. He's a piece of s***.
  9. How can anyone hate Dmitri Young? He was a vital member of our 2005 championship?
  10. Even if there's nothing wrong with his shoulder, the Cubs should still operate on it. This way, Prior's mental issue about his health will be resolved.
  11. Couldn't happen to a nicer guy. I hope he doesn't face another hitter in the majors.
  12. QUOTE(Top Notch @ Apr 12, 2007 -> 05:59 PM) Alot of his hype can be attributed to ESPN, but everyone around baseball for the last few years has called him the best clubhouse presence in the game, someone who can change a decent pitcher into a good one with his game calling, etc. Not to mention, the Red Sox labeling him as their "captain." I wouldn't pick him, but Texsox has a point. I guess I've missed Boston's dominance on the mound
  13. QUOTE(Texsox @ Apr 12, 2007 -> 05:51 PM) Anyone value veteran leadership on the field every day? It's amazing how hyped up Jason Varitek has become thanks to ESPN.
  14. Cabrera's not going to be playing 81 home games though at such a pitcher's park for much longer. He's a fantastic hitter.....I'd love for Ozzie to use his friendship with him to get him in a Sox uniform. He'd make our ballpark seem even smaller than it is.
  15. QUOTE(Texsox @ Apr 12, 2007 -> 05:12 PM) Any of the above picks could work out. I was thinking Johan, Felix, and a player to be named later. Pujols would be nice, A-Rod was another choice. I was also considering a catcher either Mauer or Martinez, maybe Varitek. If I had to narrow to three, I guess I'd go Johan, Felix, and Mauer. Taking it a step further, I'd next be looking to draft the AAA guys from up the middle, SS, CF, 2B.l Then look for a closer, IF corners, relievers, more starting pitchers, OF corners, relievers . . . He's beyond bad now. His bat speed has decreased dramatically. For me, I'd go with Felix Hernandez, Sizemore, and Miguel Cabrera. I'm confident in saying all three will be Half of Famers if they stay healthy, with Cabrera putting up some of the best offensive numbers in history.
  16. QUOTE(StrangeSox @ Apr 12, 2007 -> 04:31 PM) Small sample sizes and no control means that you can't really say for sure one way or the other. I'm thrilled with the last 5 starts by our pitchers, but let's wait until they face some quality hitting teams before we say they've turned the corner. By that means though, it's very nice to be at 4-4 when you take into account how bad our hitting has been. Rock and I don't agree on much, but we both pointed out yesterday that we just have to find a way to win some of these games with our pitching overcoming our hitting.
  17. I guarantee you that Ken Griffey Jr. will be a great influence on Hamilton.
  18. The guys is phenomenally skilled. He's my favorite person to root for outside of the White Sox. I've heard some interesting things about him from someone who was around him 5 years ago.
  19. Fascinating stat I heard today (haven't confirmed it, but I'm sure it's pretty accurate): Mark Buehrle has allowed a first inning run in 15 of his last 18 starts, including at least 8 starts in a row.
  20. I'm excited to go home and watch the last two innings.
  21. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Apr 11, 2007 -> 08:35 PM) So basically with a .216 team BA. Every pitcher we face is the equivalent of Cy Young. The numbers pretty much are about that. We just have to try and win some of the games while nearly every hitter slumps. I miss the days during the first half of last year when Hawk tried to say our team wasn't clicking, even though 7 of our hitters were overachieving.
  22. QUOTE(Jimbo @ Apr 11, 2007 -> 08:32 PM) Will Molina go ....00000 for the year? If he was the back-up catcher the whole season, he wouldn't hit over .175. I'm still puzzled as to why we thought he had any chance to hit in the majors. He hit around .230 in AA!
  23. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Apr 11, 2007 -> 08:26 PM) Touche I honestly wish there was a place where we could all discuss this issue, but I know we can't do that on this site (and I understand why).
