QUOTE(caulfield12 @ Apr 25, 2007 -> 02:35 AM) Gload is worse than Pods in LF or Mack in CF!!! Didn't anyone see the first inning? Thanks for the grand salami against Ray and Orioles last year Ross, but a lefty who throws 95 MPH and might have a future as a starter has a lot more value than a utility 1B/DH/LF. Sisco will never be a starter. He'd need 100 pitches to get thru 4 innings. I wish we could get him in the minors right now working as a closer.

Anderson didn't take those two strikes very well. His body is going forward on the pitch....not exactly textbook hitting mechanics. If he doesn't keep his hands back, he has no chance to do anything.

QUOTE(RockRaines @ Apr 25, 2007 -> 02:33 AM) Ok, so way to compare two bench players, one who plays defense and one who doesnt. Congrats on your non-point. Seriously, come up with something that Ross Gload did that was better than getting traded? He is a 31 year old career bench player. Gload's the type of line drive hitter that could help balance out some of the home run hitters we've had. The funny thing is that I'm nowhere near Gload's biggest fan. All I'm saying is that I thought he should have received more of a shot last year.

QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Apr 25, 2007 -> 02:32 AM) Actually it doesn't. 156 and and 234 At-bats are only a significant amount to a career bench player. Defensively speaking I would rather have Mack in CF than Ross in LF or RF. Podsednik currently has better numbers than Ross right now anyways. I simply have no faith in Pods to stay healthy. BTW Rock, why do you think he's going to need surgery?

A little off topic, but it's amazing to see that Jamie Burke is about a .333 career hitter in the majors. Still has no career homers.

QUOTE(RockRaines @ Apr 25, 2007 -> 02:29 AM) Easy, he is a career bench player that cant even start on the royals. Mackowiak didn't always start for a Pirates team that had less talent than this Royals team. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Apr 25, 2007 -> 02:29 AM) We should rock this pitcher. He kind of sucks. I know that Hawk is about to annoint him Cy Young in about an inning. His fastball is straight as an arrow. His curve is okay, but not that good. And his slider doesnt break that much. It's too bad wind is blowing in. If not, I'd expect 3 or 4 homers by Sox tonight.

QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Apr 25, 2007 -> 02:27 AM) How do you know how Gload is going to be? No one knows....that's why he should have been given the chance last year when everyone else in the LF/leadoff position sucked. We had nothing to lose at the point when Pods bottomed out, but unfortunately we didn't give him an extended chance to prove he could do it. Seriously, I could have sworn this was something we discussed a million times last year.

QUOTE(RockRaines @ Apr 25, 2007 -> 02:24 AM) Gload or Sisco, make your pick right now. Tough call, too hard to tell how Sisco is going to be. I hate watching Sisco pitch, as he always makes it seem like throwing strikes is hard. Considering bringing back Pods was a pathetic decision by KW, I would rather have Gload leading off than Sisco as our 6th best reliever.

QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Apr 25, 2007 -> 02:22 AM) *headshake* What'd Ozzie do to Gload, now? Everyone hates Osvaldo! I guess I must have been in my own world when I recalled people pleading for Gload to get the chance to start in LF last year. Sorry, must have been a different player.

QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Apr 25, 2007 -> 02:23 AM) I loves me some Ross Gload. Too bad he's not our left fielder. Let's hope that triple was the end of his revenge, though. For those watching on TV, does Vaz look as bad as he sounds? Worse...the only out he got should have been a homer hit on the pitch before.

QUOTE(jphat007 @ Apr 25, 2007 -> 02:22 AM) What exactly is he shoving up his ass exactly? KW traded him. Ozzie played him a bunch. Or are you just ranting again. Do you even post about the game anymore, or just rip on posters? Ozzie never gave him a chance to start in the outfield last year.
-
White Sox vs. Royals, 4/24/07 (W)
It's too bad that man who just tripled couldn't be our leadoff hitter this year.
-
White Sox vs. Royals, 4/24/07 (W)
Ha, good for Gload shoving it up Ozzie's ass. Don Cooper should be ashamed of this. Anyone else notice a terrible jump by Anderson on that play?

QUOTE(WSoxMatt @ Apr 25, 2007 -> 02:18 AM) Javy's stuff is insanely crazy right now, everything he throws is moving 6+ inches His mechanics are terrible tonight. He's getting underneath the ball, which is why his ball is tailing and he's hung a few sliders. If we can get out of this inning only down 1, it's fine.
-
White Sox vs. Royals, 4/24/07 (W)
At this rate, at least Ozzie can use Sisco again.
-
White Sox vs. Royals, 4/24/07 (W)
Well, this is awful. Javy hasn't thrown one change-up yet, and that's his best pitch.
-
White Sox vs. Royals, 4/24/07 (W)
Good grief, his stuff isn't crisp so far. Any idea on his velocity?
-
White Sox vs. Royals, 4/24/07 (W)
Why can't our pitchers come out sharp to start the game?
-
White Sox vs. Royals, 4/24/07 (W)
Javy's fastball is tailing a ton right now.
