QUOTE(SoxAce @ Apr 14, 2007 -> 07:09 PM) Our defense now is laughable mostly Uribe and Gooch. Don't forget LF/RF

I honestly think Cooper stresses not throwing as hard in order to get movement or control. For some people it works, others, it doesn't. Sisco used to throw like 96 mph, and now he's throwing around 88 mph. Terrible defense this inning hurts. Oh well, we deserve to lose today. We got a gift win yesterday.

QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Apr 14, 2007 -> 07:06 PM) What exactly was Erstad "selling" as he was tip-toeing on the track? There were two outs. Ha, he did seem like the CF version of Pods.

Erstad looked pretty crappy on that fly ball. I thought Masset was supposed to throw 96 mph? I'm never trusting scouting reports on minor leaguers.

I'm not really that upset....even if we lose today, 5-5 is much better than I anticipated with this earlier schedule/pitching match-ups. Let's face it....if our main hitters struggle all season, we're going to win like 70 games. You can't keep on hoping that Uribe and Anderson will carry you.

QUOTE(Kalapse @ Apr 14, 2007 -> 06:59 PM) I have a hunch Ozzie might be on his way out, he's due for one huge outburst this year that includes a racial slur. The thing is, I don't necessarily won't him fired I just wish he weren't so f***ing stubborn. It's funny, but I said this to my dad last night: If J. Jackson or Al Sharpton were gay, Ozzie Guillen would have been fired last year.

QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Apr 14, 2007 -> 06:56 PM) Send Anderson down, so at least he can get some ABs. Because when grinderstad is hitting 200 come June, maybe KW will want to make a change. Hell, might as well trade him. Ozzie's obviously not a fan of his, and we saw how that ended for McCarthy and Tracey.

I can't believe Rich Hill and Paul Byrd are going to win the Cy Young.

QUOTE(SoxGovernment @ Apr 14, 2007 -> 06:52 PM) i think he just looks slow because he's so tall and he's making giant strides He's slow because he has very little range.

Wow, this is one of the worst offensive performances I've ever seen. Thankfully, we have three straight lefties now. Ozzie is a genius with this lineup.

QUOTE(BearSox @ Apr 14, 2007 -> 06:49 PM) Dye wasn't this slow last year, was he? Maybe he is just trying to avoid injury in his contract year, but that doesn't explain why he cant hit s***. Yes he was this slow in the outfield.

QUOTE(caulfield12 @ Apr 14, 2007 -> 06:49 PM) Maybe we should sign Boggs and Gwynn as co-hitting coaches. Milkman would love it if we signed Boggs.

QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Apr 14, 2007 -> 06:48 PM) ....and people want to kick his ass to the curb and send him to AAA. Actually, it's more projecting the difficulty he might have when it gets hot out and the ball is flying out of the Cell. It's all going to depend on the adjustments he makes.....as he does have a good history of making them.

QUOTE(shawnhillegas @ Apr 14, 2007 -> 06:47 PM) He would be the single worst offseason signing we could make. He has DH written all over him. I agree, but we don't have to worry about him returning.

QUOTE(caulfield12 @ Apr 14, 2007 -> 06:44 PM) It reminds me a lot of Frank Thomas when he was in a funk...flares to the right side, groundballs pulled to SS. Erstad looks like Aaron Rowand down the stretch in 05, except from the left side. Fantastic comparisons

QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Apr 14, 2007 -> 06:41 PM) I'll bet we did. Yankees wouldn't do that, though, and I'm not sure Alex Rodriguez would want to come here. And who's fault is that?

QUOTE(caulfield12 @ Apr 14, 2007 -> 06:42 PM) Why do the Indians' bats just sound a lot better than ours? KW was worried about getting old, I think you might be seeing that "slow/old" thing hitting simultaneously with Erstad, Thome, Konerko, Dye, AJ and Iguchi. Great point about the offense getting old. The thing is, over the next 3-5 years, we're going to have to spend a lot of money to have a solid offense. Not exactly a lot of offensive difference makers in our system.

QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Apr 14, 2007 -> 06:42 PM) Where's our Ryan Garko? Seriously, do we have any player who has went opposite field this entire season more than Garko has this series? Mr. Crede has about 15 pop ups to the right side of the field this year.

Might want to get in a reliever. These fastballs at 84 mph might be a sign he's tired.

QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Apr 14, 2007 -> 06:38 PM) Cmon, that's unrealistic. Every team would want a Ryan Garko. And a Grady Sizemore. And a Travis Hafner. And a C.C Sabathia!!!!11 Makes you wonder whether any opposing team watches our team and thinks, "Wow, that (player A); I wish we had a player of his capabilities." I still laugh how Hawk said we were the most talented team in the majors last year.
