  1. I thought this was the funniest thing I've read in the last few days: this team is playing like they're guaranteed a playoff bid this year due to winning the WS last season.
  2. QUOTE(Wealz @ Sep 17, 2006 -> 10:34 PM) You must be a Cubs fan. Good one...have fun defending Ozzie over the next few weeks.
  3. QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Sep 17, 2006 -> 10:34 PM) Nope. We'll have to witness Street flick his breaking ball over the outside corner and make Uribe look foolish. If Uribe bats next inning, then I will buy the domain for fireozzie.com.
  4. I'm so glad that we kept Ozuna on the bench there...probably the best guy we have at starting a rally.
  5. SWING THE FREAKING BAT! This team deserves to get booed non-stop tomorrow night.
  6. QUOTE(BearSox @ Sep 17, 2006 -> 10:30 PM) Pierzynski can't hit anyone, esp. not lefties for the past 2 months. It's quite comical that he made the all-star team, and then has sucked to high hell since then. If he's not hitting well, then he's a mediocre catcher. His pitch calling has been extremely poor this season.
  7. Lefties hit better against Kennedy than righties do.
  8. Time for the Sox to make the 6 remaining outs in less than 25 pitches.
  9. QUOTE(SinkingShip06 @ Sep 17, 2006 -> 10:21 PM) DAVID RISKE WHEN YOU GOT IT WITHIN ONE?!? I can't believe people actually want us to re-sign him this offseason. Every pitch he throws is a meatball.
  10. QUOTE(Wealz @ Sep 17, 2006 -> 10:21 PM) That's a GM issue. Good grief, it's impossible for you to ever criticize Ozzie, isn't it?
  11. I don't understand why we didn't give Gload a chance to win the LF spot about 2 months ago. The Twins season turned around when they stopped settling for mediocrity, and they removed Lohse from their rotation and released Batista.
  12. QUOTE(Wealz @ Sep 17, 2006 -> 10:20 PM) And when is the last time Konerko was pinch hit for in that type of situation? PK isn't in a massive slump against a certain type of pitcher. Thome is virtually worthless against LHP for about the last two months.
  13. Time for Crede to be benched. His back has taken away all of his bat speed.
  14. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Sep 17, 2006 -> 10:17 PM) He is on the bench with bad back, and 24 double plays. At least PK seems like he can get a hit when he's at the plate now.
  15. Does anyone kill a rally quicker than Thome?
  16. Keep contributing so much Thome...Garland could have hit a grounder like that.
  17. The worst thing is that people are going to keep saying that Frank knocked us out of the playoffs. Our chances were screwed well before Thomas homered yesterday.
  18. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Sep 17, 2006 -> 10:00 PM) Nice execution of that play. Tombstone this year. Its over. The season was over when we lost a 3 run lead in the 7th inning, and the Twins won with Silva on the mound against C.C.
  19. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Sep 17, 2006 -> 09:57 PM) They have to get off the Thomas homer. Chavez followed it up with a shot in the gap. With the way Contreras is throwing tonight, they were going to score plenty of runs. WHY IN THE HELL DOES OZZIE FEEL THE NEED TO KEEP OUR STARTING PITCHERS IN FOR SO LONG, EVEN WHEN IT'S OBVIOUS THEY HAVE NOTHING LEFT?
  20. Whoever coaches our outfield defense should be fired. Also, AJP just can't catch the freaking ball at home plate.
  21. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Sep 17, 2006 -> 09:55 PM) The Sox just look like a defeated team. It would be nice to see some fire. Remember when Hawk and Ozzie's loyal followers used to say that Ozzie would NEVER allow this type of pathetic effort to take place? This season's over...and this is just the pathetic stretch of games before we're officially eliminated.
  22. QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Sep 17, 2006 -> 09:53 PM) I know, but with Bradley he appeared more comfortable than facing Chavez or Swisher, for example. Obviously, both of those players are better than Bradley; but this shouldn't be on the mind of a pitcher. He needs confidence to throw his pitches against anyone. Don Cooper either sucks, or he owes his reputation to steroids and greenies.
  23. Since the only thing we can judge Ozzie by is what happens on the field, he's been pushing the wrong button almost every single time for the last month. Not exactly what you want when you're in a pennant race.
