  1. I've seen this MacDougal show about 100 times against the Twins. His ERA is about 6 in his career vs the Twins.
  2. Hey Ozzie...if you're so worried about Nathan, then show some freaking urgency in the 6th inning.
  3. QUOTE(diegotony06 @ Aug 26, 2006 -> 03:16 AM) i knew it. this loss is gonna stay with this team the rest of the season. I can only dream it leads to Ozzie quiting then.
  4. Nice offspeed pitch...way to speed up his bat.
  5. The outfield has to be playing shallow enough to take away the flare by Bartlett.
  6. Whew...Hawk sounded sad when the ball left the bat.
  7. Crede's guarding the line like we're up 2 in this situation.
  8. Uribe got an awful jump on that. By the looks of the replay, he started off towards the hole. I just don't get why we keep throwing 3-2 fastballs, why every team throws us 3-2 offspeed pitches with a ton of success.
  9. That 1-0 pitch was clearly a strike.
  10. I can't remember the last time Uribe had a big hit late in the game. QUOTE(CYGarland @ Aug 26, 2006 -> 03:04 AM) Jenks time MacDougal
  11. Juan can do a lot of damage if he looks the opposite way here.
  12. This is the part of the game where we usually have someone caught stealing by 10 feet.
  13. Another infield hit for Gload! He has got to lead our team in that category. Hit a bomb Uribe.
  14. Even if we don't score this inning, a few hits would be nice so that Dye could bat in the 9th.
  15. ANOTHER FREAKING HANGER!
  16. Keep fighting AJ...a gapper would be lovely.
  17. AJP with a great pitch to hit on that 2-2. I hope he doesn't chance the low slider.
  18. The Sox organization believes that Gload is a better defensive 1B. Also, I have no problem with getting PK some rest. He's seemed very fatigued lately.
  19. Great pitches by Thornton. Good thing we didn't use him in the 6th.
  20. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Aug 26, 2006 -> 02:46 AM) It would be a shot to us and to the twins if we actually tried to hit line drives next inning, and strung a few hits together. I know it goes against our whole offensive strategy of lift and pull and pose, but it might win a close game. Just a thought. That's one of the main reason we've always struggled against guys like Nathan and Rincon. They have that quick slider on the outside to righties, and everyone on the team will swing over it.
  21. QUOTE(CYGarland @ Aug 26, 2006 -> 02:46 AM) Alright, you know the gun's off when Thornton's only hitting 92.........PHEW, on that hit by Mauer I think it's 3-4 mph off tonight.
  22. Whew...I thought that was gone off of the bat.
  23. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Aug 26, 2006 -> 02:44 AM) I'm still scratching my head over Ozzie's decision to keep Pods in against a tough lefty. Maybe Brian wouldn't have come through at the plate either but at least your defense is improved considerably in the late innings when every run is crucial. There's honestly no reason he was left up to bat, especially considering Ozzie has said he won't start Pods vs LHP due to his inability to hit them this season.
  24. Some very tough outs coming up for Sox pitchers in this 8th inning.
  25. QUOTE(Frankensteiner @ Aug 26, 2006 -> 02:42 AM) Uh, no he doesn't. Their stats are very similar. Not over the past 2 or 3 months. Pierre has been very solid since his terrible start, and Pods has been terrible since his solid start.
