  1. QUOTE(Felix @ Aug 11, 2006 -> 01:49 AM) Lovely strike zone tonight... If this umpire continues to suck tonight, Ozzie needs to get ejected.
  2. QUOTE(Jimbo @ Aug 11, 2006 -> 01:45 AM) is there any team that dinks and doinks hits more than thte twins, no wonder they suck in the playoffs away from home. Castillo and Punto are doing an amazing job at setting the table for their main guys.
  3. Iguchi with some very good swings lately.
  4. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Aug 11, 2006 -> 01:43 AM) Mack would have bounced that ball off of his ass, somehow. That was actually a line drive that could have easily been misread.
  5. QUOTE(Jenks Heat @ Aug 11, 2006 -> 01:42 AM) I was being a smartass. He didn't pitch in the postseason. I don't know how anyone can watch our main guys who pitched so much last year and not think it has effected their arm strength.
  6. Vazquez gets squeezed...which usually means the implosion is near. If Posada knocks these runs in, the Yanks will have all the momentum in the game.
  7. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Aug 11, 2006 -> 01:41 AM) Nary a man I hate more in baseball than Mr. Steroids Giambi. Carlos Zambrano
  8. QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 11, 2006 -> 01:38 AM) Early observation that Vazquez's fastball has nowhere near the life/location that it did on Saturday. Until that one! Huge out in this game in Giambi.
  9. Early observation that Vazquez's fastball has nowhere near the life/location that it did on Saturday.
  10. Everyone knows the scouting report on Pods now, and teams are going to keep running on him at will.
  11. Way to get in position Pods! That's inexcusable to not get behind the ball and prevent Jeter from getting to 2nd base.
  12. Great start so far. Vazquez is missing his spots all over the place. That's a play that should have been made.
  13. Yankees fans all cringe at this match-up here.
  14. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Aug 11, 2006 -> 12:58 AM) I oughta just shut the f*** up in the future. I do know Philly was getting roughed up in Charlotte. Bad reviews of Phillips from someone at the game. He said he has a great pickoff move, but his stuff doesn't look MLB caliber and he's not fooling anyone.
  15. QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Aug 10, 2006 -> 11:47 PM) I was at the game the and watched him after the error, and he didn't show him up. I don't know where you are getting your info from. From about four different radio personalities yesterday. I didn't see the replay, as I was too busy typing "when will Ozzie learn" after the Mackowiak error.
  16. You can survive on a great hitting team having a defensive SS and CF. However, you can't have a LF who sucks on offense and defense. We also just have to see the end of Mackowiak in CF. It's so freaking stupid that we keep making the same mistakes 110 games into the season.
  17. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Aug 10, 2006 -> 06:56 PM) The best part of that Jeter catch is he took 3 steps after he had the ball (in fair ground) before being in the stands. I still think he could have stopped or almost stopped, but kept going to make it look good. The only reason that Jeter catch is so popular is because how that game went. If you remember, that was an epic extra inning game which featured Nomar sitting on the bench the whole game. If anything, it was more of a symbolic catch of how great of a leader Jeter is, and how far Nomar had fallen with the Red Sox.
  18. AJP has as much to do with anyone in turning this franchise into a World Series contender. However, he's overrated right now. His hitting has been pretty good this year (struggles with RISP have hurt us), but his catching has been awful. If he's the one calling the pitches, then it's been really disappointing.
  19. If Derek Jeter made that diving catch into the stands like Uribe did, there would have been a Gatorade commercial revolving around the play already.
  20. Why don't we wait until the season is over to discuss if one year was more disappointing than the other? Maybe it's just me, but my disappointment level is much less this season than it would have been if we didn't win the World Series last year. I'm not saying I'm giving the team a grace period though. I just think it's interesting how everyone is saying how disappointing this team is after one of our better "losses" in a long time. I don't believe in moral victories, but I do believe in momentum.
  21. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Aug 10, 2006 -> 04:53 PM) He put up with the whole Palmeiro/Sosa/B-12/manager being fired mess the year before. That's what I'm saying...he's sick of playing with the Orioles. He's not an idiot. He knows they have no chance in that division. But like people in this thread have said, who the hell knows what Angelos will do.
  22. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Aug 10, 2006 -> 04:52 PM) Talk amongst whom, if you don't mind my asking? And has this season's massive attendance increase already been spent/factored in? In the paper about what our payroll is going to be with our core guys being brought back. If you factor in Crede re-signing for about 8 mil a year, we're going to be near 100 million after 14 guys. Unless we're planning on unloading more salary, it's going to be hard to make any huge upgrades.
  23. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Aug 10, 2006 -> 04:48 PM) He demanded one last offseason, and look what happened with that. He rescinded the demand though. After another season of turmoil and losing, he won't be as willing to play for the Orioles again. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Aug 10, 2006 -> 04:48 PM) Thats because their owners is the worst in the MLB. Who would turn down Roy Oswalt. Roy Oswalt is no friggin Cy Young.
  24. QUOTE(Felix @ Aug 10, 2006 -> 04:42 PM) The recently signed Mora to an extension at third, so I don't know how interested they'd be in Fields (unless they plan on moving him elsewhere), and if they didn't accept Roy Oswalt for Tejada, I doubt they'd want Garcia I have a feeling Tejada's going to demand a trade this offseason. That will put them in a much tougher position to get back a top package for him than the situation they were in at the deadline.
